VN - Ren'Py - Ms.Denvers [v0.11] [Pop Toc]

I can't praise this game enough. I don't know how to describe it, but for a porn game the characters feel real. Maybe it's the lack of nonsensical choices or situations. and can't forget the gorgeous renders.

I tend to avoid games with female protag on sheer principle because of the "corruption" and by that I mean outright rape or molestation and can't forget the blackmail and them turning into sluts most of the time. Which is kind of troublesome cause I love a good lesbian game and those are really rare.
This games seems to be going in a different direction, at least I really hope so, I would love actual romance and relationships here.


No sexual content yet, at least not in the "lesbian" path but we got to know most of the characters, and no outright asshole male LI yet which left me pleasantly surprised.

My only gripe is a lot of monologs, seeing thing from other characters perspective in appreciated but it can get too long winded.

All in All an amazing game so far, can't wait for more, and good luck Dev.

Interesting headmistress premise ruined by cancerous writing.

THE GOOD

The renders are decent, and don't abuse the depth of field gimmick.
Also, the premise of the story is quite fresh in the avalanche of copy-pasted harem or quasi-corruption games feat. an 18 yo MC with a foot-long dick.

THE NEUTRAL

The UI is pretty much stock, which is acceptable, but custom UI isn't all that difficult to do.

THE BAD

I won't mince words - The writing in Ms.Denvers is absolutely fuckin' atrocious.

Bar the first couple of scenes, the dialogue descends into the mindbendingly stupid and unbearable mess of shitty remarks, less-than-acceptable jokes, and so much "overdescription" I thought I was actually back in school. Character thoughts are, for some unexplainable reason, written in bold (you know... the text formatting usually associated with emphasizing or shouting). The dialogue is so long at times it almost doesn't fit in the dialogue box...

By the way, here's one scene from the game:
* the boy: *jumps into the pool to retrieve his basketball*
* narrator: ... but he forgot he cannot swim.
* the boy: Oh no, I forgot I cannot swim, crap.
* MC: Why do you jump into the water if you cannot swim?
* the boy: (after being rescued) Because I forgot.

I believe I was automatically promoted to a Make-A-Wish kid after trodding through all that abysmally bad writing.
Someone please check in on me in like two days, okay?

Also, why are there virtually no transitions between the renders? Is this a glorified webcomic or an actual visual novel?

Conclusion: The game, as of now, is insultingly bad to anyone capable of putting the square wooden block in the square-shaped hole. It needs a complete rewrite if it aspires to be anything more than a laughing stock.

UPDATE: Finally finished the 0.3.0 - it's even worse than I expected. Score has been lowered.

I can't give this game enough praise. While still early in development, it's turning out to be my absolute favorite of the female protag/ lesbian/ incest genre.

Wanda (Ms Denvers) is stunning. The developer really knows how to pose and stylize the model's sexy frame. The facial expressions are perfectly subtle. She has a mysterious way about her, expressively and in dialog.

Speaking of the dialog, it's not too wordy, not too short...it's just right on the money. I love the inner-dialog especially. Her suggestive thoughts take the reader on a rollercoaster as she navigates her moral grey areas. There are just little nuggets here and there that really spice up the narrative.

As for the story, it's simple, and that's a good thing. The author is setting up enough reasons for the erotica to feel authentic and possible...which is hard to do with incest. But he does it nicely. Wanda is going through some changes professionally and the stressful situation opens up the doors of possibilities. That's enough for me.

And for the hundreds of incest games available, there are very few that approach the mother/daughter angle. This game doesn't just approach it, but as of version .03, the dev knocks it out of the park! Not just one daughter either, but two! And a sister. I mean...it feels like xmas when I play this game.

There is obviously more variety than just lesbian opportunities, but that's what I'm here for. The hetero scenes are avoidable, and that's what I've done. I'm sure they are also handled with great care though.

The music hits the right tone. Beautiful renders and backdrops. What else can I say? It's all fantastic. Way to go Pop Doggy.

Not much content yet, but what's there is simply great. Renders are really good, writing has no serious issues. There's conflict and the characters are mostly sane.

Depending on future progress this could be a really great "realistic" incest VN, or a forgettable (or even worse, abandoned) one.

Revised rating for .4: The art is still great, even improving, but the writing is increasingly dragging things down, in my humble opinion. Too much description of what is happening in people's heads, too much description of what is clearly visible in the image, too much talking about an extremely simple story. I skimmed text for the last two updates and felt like I didn't miss a thing. Also, plot-wise, the "corruption" is not immersive at all: extremely repressed people suddenly doing extremely taboo things with little explanation why.

I'd suggest letting the art doing the talking -- little/no text when the art and music can move things forward -- and/or adding some twists to the plot that explain the changed behavior (e.g., tracks for blackmail, alcoholism, or new character(s) who aggressively try to get everyone to push their boundaries. All this stuff exists but for some reason they're not what's driving the corruption.)

ORIGINAL:

First impressions for people wondering whether it's worth a download, or for devs considering some tweaks:

• The art is not unique but is great.
• The writing is very on the nose: e.g., describing every thought and action, even though it's already obvious from the art. The plot is pretty ... standard (shallow) so far too. I was hoping it would be about some rich widow/divorcee trying to get into education to help the world and then getting in over her head, but instead it feels like it's going the other way. But that's not a deal-breaker if you like the FMC corruption/incest genre, I suspect.
• Author has a rather gratuitous kink for China (sample conversation: "you're amazing!" "must be my 1/4 Chinese genes!"). The overall vibe (shyness, etc.) is very Southeast Asian. I kept being reminded of the original (NOT remake) of Free Pass.
• Everyone in the story keeps telling the MC that she doesn't look 40 and .... they're right. 27-30 tops, even accounting for those Chinese genes. With apologies to the incest crowd, why not go all-in with the "guardian" premise, which means she could actually be in her 20s? I'm surprised I don't see more stories about a young-ish but strict stepmom MC being left with a houseful of young adults; instead, it seems like 90% of the time, "guardian/stepmom" is only used as Patreon-safe code for "biological mother"

Looking forward to the next release but wouldn't mind a plot twist or two; e.g., MC starts getting blackmailed, perhaps by someone who is well-meaning and just trying to get her out of her shell, but then goes too far. Almost everyone in the story so far could pull that off.

I'm really enjoying the game.

I think the game has a lot of potential for the story and the visuals.

I'm glad that for version 0.02 the team added music into the scenes, and most of the tracks have been soothing enough while reading the story and going with the scene.

One of the things I like most about the game is that each path can be exclusive, you don't need to play other paths in order to progress in the one the player prefers.

I like the render quality, even when brightness can be a factor sometimes with the text, it still doesn't ruin the scenes but it's something that can be looked after in future versions and keep improving each time.

My main playthrough is with Wanda & Gene, it's always interesting and a challenge to see how writers and artists develop a such relationship and I like how it started and where they can go from there, without having too many complications along the way.

It's a game I will and have gladly suggested to other players and I can hope and see the game continues steadily evolving and improving with each version, but it's a game definitely worth playing.

Very high quality game. Although I'm not usually interested in adult VNs with female protagonists, the screenshots caught my attention, and I have been thoroughly impressed. Ms. Wanda Denver and all the female characters are stunning, and in general the renders are top-notch. As others have mentioned, the story idea is not particularly original, but that is not important because the quality of a story should be judged based on how well it is told, and Ms. Denver is doing a great job so far. What stands out to me is the extra effort the developer has put into creating frames that focus on character expressions and body language to set a steady pace and tone in conversations. Attention to details like this can make VN scenes feel more natural and powerful, eliciting emotions from players to draw them into the story and character development. I have not seen it done so well since another VN I played called 'By Midsummer Moonlight'.

I like the FMC as a school principal, and the setting has potential—it's unique and offers a fresh perspective, especially from an FMC point of view. Unfortunately, the game relies heavily on cheap thrills and slow progress, making it feel more like an endless tease than a rewarding experience. The dialogue and flow of conversation often come across as clunky and forced, requiring too much suspension of disbelief to be truly enjoyable, which breaks immersion at times. While the premise is intriguing, the writing still needs improvement to keep players invested long-term.

As for the art, it's really hit or miss. Some updates look great, but others seem like there was a sudden shift in direction, leaving the visuals feeling inconsistent. It would be nice if the creator stuck to one style instead of constantly changing things up. The lack of a cohesive visual direction can be distracting and takes away from the overall experience.

Wow! Really impressed with this. I am a big fan of these exact types of games, and they are honestly not that common at least not of good quality.

Story has me engaged and It's nice to see an eroticism and reality focused plot. am also happy to see straight up incest without any patches needed.

I also enjoy the plethora of supporting young men for our MC to enjoy.
I am not the biggest lesbian content guy, but the scene with the daughter was very arousing and interesting.

Renders looks really damn good and are posed very well. I was a little bit concerned at the MC model at first, thinking she looked a little "too young" but as I played the game I feel comfortable saying she is a smoking MILF!

UI runs smoothly as Renpy VN UI should, and doesn't look, either overnumbered or bare bones at all, as some of these games do. am also happy to see straight up incest without any patches needed.

Only complaint and it isn't a real complaint is I am eager for MORE!

Please keep up the good work Devs! I will keep a close eye on this one. As should all lovers of Female protag MILF games that are actually of quality.

Excellent graphics, beautiful scenes, a pleasant main character and, albeit an ordinary, but pleasant plot.

Naturally, I judge only by version 0.1, which is essentially a demo, but nevertheless, it immediately hooked me. Looking forward to updates

The 3D modeling very well done, interesting story, the lighting/renders are very good. Good start.
Hopefully we'll get one of two possibilities: slow burn with lots of eroticism or a faster pace but with a good story.

Looks promising. The spelling is not the best (please put full stop at the end of your sentences, it triggers me so much lmao), but the writing and the renders are nice (it even has animations!).
So yeah, it could grow to be very very cool.

Also, principal or teacher female MC is an immediate win for me.

Well it has potential.
For initial release, it has some good quality renders.

I suggest the developer, if he/she has no already written script, then he/she should focus on the story and the story telling aspect of this game.

I personally like VN which are slow paced with gradual and slow corruption and have well written dailogues.
If you manage to do that with this game,then it will surely be a hit.

(Also while playing I noticed that the game did hang a bit, I don't know if it's a issue with my device because I played other ren'py game and it worked just fine. Please fix this problem.)
