One of the best games I had the pleasure of playing on this site and have been playing since it's first release.

The writing is great and has been continously improving since sice episode 1, the characters all have their roles in the story and are all easily lovanle after learning their bacstory, which is very important in a game of this genre.

The renders and sex scenes are top notch and provide a good sensual experience and are usually an effect of important story bits, and let's not forget the music which ranges from being pretty good to absolutely hilarious (in a good way).

All in all this is a great and enjoyable read that I will continue following till the end!!! 10/10

I have played this game since Ep 4 and after playing Ch1, i decided to review the game due to the goddess Aine in the beach.
Firstly, the story is interesting. My first impression of the game is bad because it reminds me of the anime Masamune kun's revenge, fortunately the plot is different. Characters development are good, but MC in my opinion is too altruistic.
Secondly, renders are great and get better every patch, i love the cutscenes. Sex scene is quite decent, but the dick licking scenes look a little funny to me
Lastly, i love the music. Those K-pop songs hit the right spot.
Ending, i deeply apologize for any inconvenience about my bad English above, i'm trying to improve by getting out of my comfort zone by writing ratings.
TLDR: I rated the game 4.5/5. Everything is great, only the start of the game reminds me of Masamune-kun's revenge.

Some of the best models I've seen before. Really knows how to bring out all the best qualities from Honey Select. Episode 1 really refined the quality from the prelude and added more movement and animations to liven up the narrative and tone.

The story takes some time to digest, but it really pulls you in through its characters and their circumstances. Each character feels unique and fully fleshed out.

Also, it has some truly great scenes--especially the ones with Gwen where the need and understanding between the character felt genuine and palpable. I would like if there were more scenes, but overall I like the style of this game, which builds longer, more meaningful scenes.

My bully is my Lover is a very pretty VN with a good premiss but boring writing.

I think the game is very pretty in general and evidently a lot of effort has gone into making the game look good. I think the characters are very cool style wise and some of them are even actually quite interesting to interact with. My issue comes with the premiss and writing.

They stated at the start that this is gonna be a game which focuses more on the story then choices and I don't mind it but I don't think the story is that good overall. The premise is just your stereotypical harem but honestly, its just as boring. I've been trying to get through the prelude to try and give it a fair chance but I genuinly fall asleep while trying to get through it. I think its the combination of the story being very predictable while also having a main character who has a personality as flat as cardboard.

Overall, if you want a pretty harem fap experience, here you go. If you want more sustainence with a story with a bit more meat then I think you should look elsewhere.

    Long John Silver

The intro says that it has some anime inspired elements, and the stereotypical Japanese harem-seeking-protagonist being a weak-willed nice guy who can't say no is probably the most glaring.

I have no problems with the premise, I realise that it's not a revenge game, however I was expecting at least some degree of hesitation. The protagonist almost instantly decides that he's over what happened in the past and will forgive them, even the obsessed sister character holds no ill will towards the ones who ruined her darling brother's high school years - all this before any of them have apologised yet.

The side characters have depth, but on the face of it, many seem to be more on the manipulative side, be it the bullies in question, the absentee mother, or the obsessed sister. Arranged marriages are bad, unless it's the protagonist being manipulated into one as he lacks the ability to say no, then it's fine.

Dialogue is good and pretty natural, although the inner monologues are a bit heavy handed and feature too much repetition, they could be made a lot more concise, allowing the dialogue to flow a bit more.

Visuals are what you'd expect from a HS game, decent enough, but doesn't seem to have the same degree of fidelity that some others are able to reach with mods/custom animations/models/post work/etc. I'm not a fan of the random pinup splashes, they're a bit jarring and bordering on spoiler-ish.

All in all, it's ok. Many people will enjoy this, but it's not for me.

Plot : 4..5/5 Story starts off in a weird direction but takes your on a couple of spins in the process, found it extremely captivating and interesting plenty of plot twists happening aswell the flashback chapter with one of the girls is a real tear jerker and the very last update had me going Shit did not see that coming

Characters 10/10 honestly there isnt a character i dislike maybe freya or Sky, but even those are great for what they are
all different type of girls with amazing personalities( PS klara,Lily and moon are awesome)

Music: 8/10 the music fits the theme and is pretty good choice wise imo

Renders: 9/10 think out of HS2 games its one of the best out there aswell to me

Keep up the good work Niichan

I really enjoyed this when I last played a year ago. I continued where I left of and it seems poorly written now, though I will assume it is me that changed. The author seem to be trying to make the story deeply emotional but it just doesn't hit because it never seems believable and it's not because of the fantasy parts.
Spoiler (but don't worry it's not that relevant to the story): In the scene where Emy is a 5 year old she's described as extremely intelligent and having done impressive things until then and her mother is very impressed about what she just said but she's just been saying stuff a lot of 5 year olds would say. After that her mother gets a disease and instead of it being a normal serious disease so that people can know that it's something that can happen, it's a disease which is not impossible but almost no one ever has, so in stead of me being worried about the character I'm going "Wait a minute, what?".
These details are not important to the story but they are important to immersion and it's miss after miss on that front which is a problem when you're trying to get the reader emotionally involved, which the author does seem to want to do.
The 2 stars are for the renders, which are decent.

Ok I really enjoyed playing this one. This is the first time I've tried one of NiiChan's work and I'm impressed so far. The story here is very interesting and all the characters are written very well. Yes few of them could've gone with more screen time but as far as the main girls are concerned, everyone has good characterization and most importantly depth. They're not like random NPC's but actually have their own different stories and arcs. Gotta say lily's backstory is just a massive lore dump without any development or connection to the story which is boring as hell.

Also I thought Gwen was the best girl but Emma clearly won me over with her sad backstory no jutsu tho her mother having cancer and all is pretty easy and cheap to get away with. It still gets you emotional nonetheless. The music is implemented well too and the renders are quite smooth and amazing. As of chapter 7, I see some inconsistencies in MC's character as in how he acts like a completely different person at time , and I'm also not particularly fond with his face design. Other than this nitpick, it's quite an enjoyable experience and let's see what the next update brings.

Interesting plot, and the characters are unique in their own ways. I rarely get immersed in reading the dialogues but I am never disappointed with this one. The choice of songs and the timing is just superb. Emy best girl <3

Ok love the game so far, the storyline is very good, not many lewd scenes but that is ok as the story carries the game.

The renders are good and models are good and the characters have good back stories.

I bawled my eyes out in chapter 5 and I'm a 51 yr old man, but they were butch tears lol.

This is a top notch game and long may it continue.

This review is for Prologue Ch Ep. 7b

This has quickly become one of the handful of adult games that has me in for the long haul not for the porn, but for the story. It's not a perfect work, mind you - there's plenty of room for a few editing passes, some phrasing could use better localization, and currently some of the characters come off as still a little thin in terms of characterization, which is only to be expected with such a fairly large cast and ultimately as an incomplete work. The weakest character thus far has been Gwen, IMO, who needs some more fleshing out and depth given how far forward her role has come. The rest of the main cast that has thus far entered into a relationship with the MC are in a fairly decent place, leaving Gwen a bit of an outlier.

The sex scenes are quite good, and the bonus images are a nice touch that adds in, while at the same time not feeling as forced as a sex scene inserted awkardly for the lewds.

However, overall, it's a very good AVN, and I'm very excited to see the next episode.

First of all the characters had a colorful personality and a nice backround
I wasn't expecting about the story to be well developed that was nice different from other game about emma story didn't think it will be a rocky road of emotion love it.
The sex scene is good although there are only few since it's not completed yet hope every character will had more scene and new character..the only lack luster here is the mc dialogue or personality it's like messed up from coward to strong so fast not enough development for the character or personality but overall ilovethis game recommended 9star

I think this is one of the few times I've played through consecutive releases of a story based AVN. The second time around experiencing this story, a lot of the things I overlooked are glaring and I have to talk about them. A lot of that is due to the great time between releases. But I am a loud voice in the argument between monthly releases versus good releases. And this is mostly good, don't get me wrong. But this story has a parallel story in the developers other game, and it's ironic considering this takes place well after, or at least later in it's storyline. To a point where, if I recall correctly, Jess isn't even a part of yet? So you can't even know most of the references this story makes because THEY HAVEN'T HAPPENED YET. But I will say two stories this closely related is an interesting idea, but releasing bite-sized pieces of each at the same time doesn't work well. I can only imagine how much of a pain in the ass it is. I also wanna say, I started this before getting to the end of ch7 so any changes in thoughts or exposition at certain parts will be in parentheses.

This game starts out with MC, your average, everyday kpop softboi that has no real personality and he just got done having sex with his sister, Sky. You know, normal stuff... Anyway he's a young guy that works at McDanks and is overly proud of it for some reason. Learns his mom is going to rent out unused rooms to some people, and they happened to bully him for a year in high school. He gets really hung up on this fact at the most random times and outside of it being the title of the story, it really doesn't matter. Essentially, Aine, the bully, made his senior year hell because her mom forced her to and he was a chubby funster with no self esteem. He worked out a lot and graduated top of his class but did nothing for no discernable reason. Back to them moving in, Aine, Emma, and Gwen just lost their big source of income and decide to rent rooms to save money. Even though they're all bottomless pits of money. At the end of ch7, it says end of prologue, and that makes the scope of the story absurd. Especially with this story blowing gallons upon gallons of its expositional load on this latest update. To be as reductive as possible: MC's dad killed Aine's father and brother. Aine's mother, Hera, wants to make MC suffer for what his dad did. And suddenly MC is all knowing, cunning and good at martial arts after learning why he was bullied.

The pacing of this story ends up completely disjointed as of the latest update. MC just abruptly changes personalities all the time, it cuts to Lily randomly as she has no place in the story outside of another love interest, and so many story beats or interactions are cheapened by the nudie title card that flashes at the end of, or during a scene. Once again, don't get me wrong, I like this story there's ACTUAL WRITING. What a concept. But I unfortunately feel no connection or way to self-insert into the MC. This is very much HIS story, not mine and I don't mind it, but it's a little weird considering you'd have to play the sister story to get a feel for parts of this one. Who you also have to self-insert into...? I guess onto the love interests.

Gwen's story falls flat, most of it being told by her father, Johnny "Glenn" Bravo. And the idea that her parents marriage fell apart because of the MC getting bullied, a person they've NEVER MET, is ridiculous, and almost even contrived. On top of the fact that I really feel that there is a detail completely lost in translation, a detail I will press on very hard later. Gwen doesn't want MC to beat himself up over her parents divorce, but I still feel like I'm missing a piece of information. Her backstory is "rich girl allowed to do everything, wants to help stop MC getting bullied. But then her mom wants to crack down on rules suddenly when she's 20 years old?" And most of her inner conflict is "Why won't HE ask me out?" She's the first love interest that gets elaborated on and it just doesn't make sense. And even worse, it's cut short by the introduction of the last love interest, Moon, who at the time of writing has maybe 10 lines in this story. (I hadn't gotten to the end of ch7 yet.) MC and Gwen's main connection is they were each other's first sexual partners, and she liked that he tried hard. And reading the timeline, she's two years older than MC and a delinquent, the fact that a 20 year old drunken rule breaker was a weird pure virgin is a little hard to believe. Later on she get a little more personality, "horny semi-cuckquean share bear." Nothing deeper than that though. But the demographic for this is mostly the turbo virgins that can't handle women having a relationship before meeting them. So THAT I guess I can understand...

And Gwen is made to seem even duller when followed by Emma's story. I will say it did provoke a little bit of emotion out out me, but I don't like using her mother's death by cancer as the source of empathy. Like, yeah, cancer sucks but I still feel tragic backstories can exist without cancer or drunk drivers. And it's so much more impactful than all the other love interests combined. Aine? Rich girl that's sad she had to bully someone. Boohoo. Sky? Sister that isn't allowed to have a legit relationship with her brother. So sad. Lily? Dead parents, fought with her best friend. I'm being reductive to the umpteenth degree, but Emma's story is the only one you're ever put through in that much detail. At the time of me writing this. And on top of the cancer, two of the biggest promises made to her are broken during very important developmental years. If ever there's a choice for any of these women it's a no brainer who'd deserve it (which there is as of this update). This also opens up Hera's history too. Between when Emma is 5 and to the current date, Hera suddenly becomes a sociopath obsessed with the fact that MC's dad chose his mother and not Hera? All I can say is there better be a VERY well written fall from grace.(it's okay at best) Because Emma's mom is her servant and she's been shown treating them like actual garbage up to this point. I get a lot can happen in 15 years, but I don't see how she could backtrack like that. And now after reaching chapter 7, Hera's intentions are retconned to be revenge against MC's dad.

Then there's Lily, she gets most of a chapter showing that she ran track. And after introducing her tack team, twice, all you get out of it is she was injured and had a falling out. Why? Who knows, this story like to be cryptic. So not much more to say about her, unfortunately. Next there's Fraeya, Aine's sister. She's a Twitch thot, even though she deliberately says she's not, and laughs a lot. She doesn't get much depth other than her being willing to work hard. And she likes to tease MC. Klara is MC's mom. All we learn is she left an assassin clan and orchestrated a lot of this. And Moon, former child soldier that has no self worth. And characters like to say she talks strange but there's not actually anything weird it's just slight metaphors. Aine gets a little more into why she's never dated. All because it can end in death being in a mafia family. And the whole time we're told that she's super pretty and attractive by everyone, but I guess she's just not my type because I don't feel it. Sky is just a sister in love with her brother, they don't get back to it by the end of this update, so all we know is she knows MC is cheating on everyone. Oh. I forgot, Naomi. She's the 4th wall breaking developer insert that has two scenes and it's boring banal nothings. But, yeah, they don't get as much personalization as Emma, so I can't say much.

Well, if anyone is still reading this, most of that is nit picky, but this is story focused and I like it so I'm critical of it. And if you're going to read this story, I'd hope someone else notices a lot of these things. I feel a lot of the day to day stuff could have been compressed, and so far this story has taken place over no more than a week or two. That is insane escalation. But it's very much worth a read. And my last complaint, is there needs to be an editor/proofreader to help with the English. I will say it's written by someone that learned the language very well. And there are decent portions of this I don't even notice it. But there are times when it's very stiff and doesn't read well, which takes me out of what I'm reading hard. This is a lot better than most, but IF YOU ARE MARKETING ANYTHING IN ANY LANGUAGE IT NEEDS TO BE LOCALIZED AND EDITED BY A NATIVE SPEAKER. Especially if you are selling a product.

TLDR The idle banter goes on really long, the title cards are a little distracting, and there's a big exposition dump at the end. But the story is good and there's good sexy content. The renders are good and there's a broad range of themes explored, I'm scared to say I'm excited to see what will become of this.

    Review for Ep. 7b

What I thought was going to be a cozy harem game about living with your bully (and friends) turned out to be a lot more. I won't get into spoilers, but there's a deeper game here than what I first gave it credit for.

I think what really shines in My Bully Is My Lover are the characters. Personality and depth exist here, way more than the average visual novel, which really is a breath of fresh air. Everyone stands out and are compelling in their own ways. Dialogue is usually pretty good, and the character models are great and feel unique.

There's also a larger focus on writing which is always a plus in my book. Detailed pasts with some well constructed flashbacks, conflict, mystery, and perhaps a hint of paranormal as well? There's a lot of elements that keep the game interesting so far.

I think the one awkward piece of the puzzle for me is the MC. First, in like half of the renders with him, it looks like he has the face of a creepy middle aged man with a teenagers body. I think it's because of the lighting? But it stood out rather frequently. Beyond that, I just don't quite connect with him I suppose. He's not a chore to play as or anything but his dialogue feels awkward sometimes. A few parts I cringed at, and a few felt like his character completely changed. But beyond that it's fine.

I'll say I did not play the other AVN that apparently has connections to this one, but It's sort of weird to me that we have this whole separate harem from the MC in the other game involved with the MC in this game? A couple girls who I thought were love interests ended up not being so because of that which sucked. From my understanding this isn't like a part two of the first game, so it's a little confusing. I feel like it could have been handled better, but maybe that's because of my ignorance regarding the other game.

With the prologue having now ended and the sort of true story being reveled, I'm interested but a bit hesitant. I like the premise, but I can't help but feel the MC doesn't really fit the "role" he now finds himself in, and I feel everything was given to him a bit too easily. I think the game is good, but I also need to see where development takes this at the end of the day.

I was annoyed the whole time while playing this game because of the cringy writing. Give the MC a little personality and masculinity, will you? We are basically playing the role of an idiot. Every single character in the game is way more interesting and has more personality than MC. It feels like he is just filling the need of some male character who needs to fuck the girls. By the way, he is the default male model in HS2 and I was going to use it for a sissy character in my game that I'm not able to progress making it because I'm so lazy.

I want to say the dev is good with creating a scenario, girls are awesome, and storytelling is good, but the dialogues are driving me insane. Please stop justifying your decision that this is not a revenge game. We get it. We don't expect him to kill whoever wronged him. But at least please stop giving crappy life lessons, and give us a little satisfaction via the dialogues. Yeah, if you are THIS forgiving, then that makes you an idiot, not a kind person. (Seriously guys, if someone did something to you and you think they are wrong, then go and fuck them.)

And there is lewd content issue. It's taking forever to see some content, and when you finally see them, they are way too short and dull. The pics between the scenes are way more interesting than sex scenes. Literally. I mean, give them a little description from the characters' perspective.

Emma is the only reason why I'm playing the game. What best describes this game is "a true wasted potential".

Really enjoyed my play-through up to current(5/22)
graphics are pretty high quality, characters have enough background to invest in them. Plot dev really ramps up quickly so i do hope there us still lots of content to come versus what is typical for a plot similar to this one.
looking forward to whats to come.
    thanks for the content!
