( For the moderators, if this thread is not in the right place, you can move it)

Hello everyone!

After playing dozens and dozens of RPG games, I decided to dive in and create one myself. You’re probably wondering why? Let me explain!

You may have noticed that among the thousands of RPGM games on this site, very few have good stories or are well-developed in terms of gameplay, and I’ve noticed it too: whether it’s poorly designed maps, nonexistent side quests, NPCs that break immersion, main quests that go in all directions, or empty gameplay...

That’s why today, with little knowledge but a lot of time to learn, I’m going to try to deliver the best RPGM game you can find on this site!

My goal is to create a game similar to 3D games you can find on Steam, like Skyrim, The Witcher 3, or Kingdom Come: Deliverance!

So, no more games with just one combat style, no more maps where you have to go from one main quest to another with no fun side quests or NPCs, no more gaining 100 HP with a single level-up, no more pixelated games when you want to play in full screen... Today, I’m going to try to break this trend of games that has quickly taken over this site, where people are just making money without putting in real effort!

If what I just said interests you, feel free to follow this thread or join me on Patreon/Discord.

The goal of this thread will be to update you on the progress of my game every week and to give you a chance to offer advice or suggest things you’d like to see added!

I still don't know if I'm going to make 3D render art with Daz or 3D renders with Koikatsu... I'll do all the art after I finish the first release of gameplay

means it is easy to say you're gonna make a great game. actually doing it is another thing. so talk means nothing, only actions
Yes! And reading isn’t cheap. If you had spent your time reading what I said instead of commenting, you would have seen that I wrote word for word that I was going to add what I do in my game little by little. :)

Addition of the latest mage class. Please note that some things may change during the game's creation, but you will still be kept informed

I wish you luck, and want to offer some general RPGM advice! (Mostly stuff I learned the hard way)

1. If you want your game to have a gallery, it's best to make all sex scenes common events. It saves on copy/pasting and, if you get a bit creative, only requires a one-time setup.

2. Keep spreadsheets for everything. I started doing this recently. Examples would be commonly used scripts, map names and the dungeons, items and other stuff in that map. Since I have a core cast, I also keep track of progress variables and such.

3. Get a plugin to assign common events to hotkeys. You might already have this, but it expands what you can do so mcuh it's ridiculous.

4. Don't neglect QOL. Stuff like fast travel, quick dungeon exits, etc.

5. Combat. (This is the hardest part) No normal battle should ever go beyond 5 turns.

6. These two google docs. Gigantic lists of script calls and assets. & (I am assuming you're using MV or MZ here.)

Oh my god, thank you so much!

I will take into account what you said and try to apply it in the game!

What you just gave me (the docs, etc.) is already more useful than someone who says 'talk is cheap' x) Thank you very much!

If it's not too much to ask and since you seem to have a lot of resources, the last time I came across a Gdoc that compiled all the tilesets available on the internet, but I can't find it anymore. So if you have it, I would really appreciate it! Thank you!

Doc 2 that I linked. You have to scroll right a bit (or click the three lines on the bottom left), but there's a tileset section.
