My Husband's Boss [Ch.1] – A Kinetic Novel That Actually Surprised Me
Alright, I'll be honest — I'm usually not into kinetic novels.
I prefer games where my choices matter. I like having control over what happens to the characters, especially if I get emotionally invested. Whether it's avoiding a bad ending, chasing a lewd scene, or protecting someone — I want to decide. Kinetic novels take that control away, so I normally knock off a star because of that.
But this one? This one changed my mind. For the first time, I'm giving a kinetic novel a full 5 stars.
Here's why:
Storytelling
The writing is top-notch. But what really sets it apart is how well the story is presented. It's not just reading walls of text — it's brought to life with visuals and sounds. When a character does something, you see it, you hear it. It's immersive and dynamic, not just a slideshow.
Characters
These aren't your typical one-note VN characters. They have depth, emotion, and personality. Their facial expressions, body language, and dialogue all come together to make them feel real. You'll laugh, get mad, feel bad for them — or hate them. And that's a rare thing in this genre.
Visuals
While it's not AAA-level graphics, it does a lot with what it has. Body proportions are realistic and appealing. The female lead? Gorgeous and sexy. No over-the-top anatomy — just well-designed and naturally hot.
Scenes
The story kicks off a bit fast, but the erotic scenes are hot. And the NTR? Yeah… that one hits like a freight train. Normally, I'd want to be able to avoid something like that through choices — but honestly, not having control made it more emotionally intense. It worked.
Final Thoughts
I highly recommend giving this one a try, even if you're usually not into kinetic novels.
✍ Personal Note:
I went into this with low expectations because I'm just not a kinetic novel guy. But damn — this one caught me off guard in the best way. The emotional punch, the realism, the presentation… it all clicked.
Still wish I had choices, but hey — credit where it's due.
