VN - Ren'Py - Completed - My New Family [Christmas Special] [Killer7]

I love everything about this game. The characters are all really great, I like the effort being put into the story as it's quite lengthy so far. I'm really looking forward to seeing how it all comes together.

A small preface first: I'd give this 3,5 stars if I could, but I'd say 3 seems fair and it could easily be a 4 if you're really into the art style, so 3/5 for me means decent fun, but nothing too out of the ordinary.

One think I like about this VN is that it has no major drama, nobody is sick, nobody is dying, nobody that really matters is dead, you just have a nice little, albeit ridiculously convenient story about a man who finds his lost family and the love he always desired. The characters are likeable and unique for the most part, some seem a bit more similar than others, but for me it's still ok. The grandmother is a bit of an oddball and for the most part I'm not really sure what to make of her.

One thing that sadly found its way into this game is repetitiveness, the day almost always starts with the gingers and a shower and it almost always ends with some pillowtalk between Lucy and the MC. I don't mind that in general, but it can become a bit boring even if you like that kind of thing. Another thing that seems a bit much and I can't really believe that I say that in a porn game is sex, it feels like it's basically sex scene after sex scene after sex scene with bit of story in between, mostly because there are just so many characters that the MC is involved with, but you can overdo it a bit, even if you mean well and want to deliver something good.

The last thing I want to mention is that at this point (0.13) it seems to offer a lot of content. The settings for the scenes seem rather simple compared to some other games, but this way you can get more done in a shorter amount of time and this is a good thing in my books.
I haven't read the thread, so maybe I missed a few things, but I think it would improve the game a bit more if the player had an idea of where the game is supposed to go, a few landmarks if you want. For me it feels like I'm just going with the flow, but I have no idea if the game will be done in 2 updates or in 20.

I used to be a big fan of this game. The first 4-5 updates, I was really looking forward to this.
Then my interest (at first very) slowly waned. It began to feel really repetitive and I found myself skipping more and more of the content related to the characters I didn't like so much.

Now that the MC is with all his sisters, his cousin, his mom and aunt, it's just not interesting anymore.

The grandma is a weird character, jumping between the dev trying to make her look sympathetic to being incredibly obnoxious and annoying and the wishy-washy way in which the MC reacts to that is also not exactly endearing.

At first there were also things that kept it interesting like making the bully see light or turning the table on the boss, but then it was like she had lost all will and just became a slave and dominating the boss isn't as much fun as it could be.

I don't want to badmouth the game, if you want sweet, romantic vanilla this game is absolutely perfect, but for me, even with incest it's just become too bland.
I need some conflict, some seduction, I need high stakes and at least the possibility of something really bad happening for the MC to overcome, at least in the long run.
Sadly, all of this is missing in "My New Family."

Again, it isn't a bad game and I don't dislike it, there are many cute and erotic characters in it.
I love all three sisters and the cousin, many others are very likeable as well.
The beginning is absolutely great, but it just fizzles out at some point and the introduction of new characters doesn't make up for that loss of intensity and interest.

If only the arc of suspence would have kept up I would have given it a four or five stars, honestly, up until a few updates ago, it would have been at least a four for me.

My favorite vn so far, I like the characters have their own characteristics and I really like the storyline, I don't know what else to say but this is highly recommended.

I like the game to a degree but it was probably better off just forcing Sandra on to us.
I tried the route without her and you're pretty much just watching tv or laying down in bed
while the dev tells you that you should've picked Sandra and then cuts off because he said alternate scenes were not worth it.

So I went with Sandra but some choices from other girls require that you also do it with Sandra. I like some of the girls but not all and the fact that I have to be with one to get to others is kind of a grind.

The story is interesting enough to play but I have to give it 2 stars based on the abrupt end non Sandra route and the fact that she is tied too much into other girl's paths. If she is that big to the story it's ok to force her on us so you don't waste so much time on a unfinished alternative route.

Game is decent but could be much better, it's filled with so much useless text that I just started spamming through to the next sex scene by chapter 3. Every day is just MC talking to the girls about how much they love each other. It gets really old after a while. If the dev would cut all the useless dialogue this game would be 5/5 but as it stands it's almost unbearable to try and read through the same shit worded differently over and over. TRIM THE FAT!

Story: 5/5 The best harem route ever made, it actually has a twisted logic to it thats believable. The inter character dialogue is great, story is touching, and will make you stop and appreciate the characters on several occasions.

Art: 3/5 Standard 3D screenshot stuff, but cute models.

Sound: Sorry couldn't tell ya, I play everything on mute like a savage.

Gameplay: To be honest, there isnt any, its 99% kinetic. Only choices you get are "Continue story with this character" or "ignore them", at least on the path I'm on (harem).

This is my favourite game of all time. And I mean out of all games that I have ever played (RPGs, Racing, Action, etc). I am replaying it for the fourth time right now (finally going to go for the full harem).
There are issues that I don't like in it however:
MC appears to be a know it all about life and relationships, but he only had one relationship before and, from his own story, his life experiences are very limited.

But I ignore that because the story itself is amazing. Each character has their own life, backstory and personality. Even though I am playing it for the fourth time now I still get affected by the stories they tell. It definitely is A must play.

A very well written and animated story!

The story follows a young man reuniting with his family which leads to meeting many beautifully designed characters.

Each one has a distinct and unique personality and connecting with each one has a romance path tied to them that is moving and engaging.

It's literally a Harem theme park!

Each animation is wonderfully done and ads depth to each encounter.

Well Done! will enjoy watching this story continue!

Wonderful game, will great graphics and animation. Looking forward to how the story line will continue from here on out. Love the fact that there is a REDHEAD in this, but also two other REDHEADS to boot its my dream come true!!!

Small twists keep you looking for future updates.

Renders are clean, and transition is smooth from day to day/scene to scene

None that I have come across. No black screens or place holders

I enjoy this VN. I, because of guilty pleasure would like more options with a certain someone in game. Maybe it'll be cultivated, maybe not. The dev is doing an excellent job either way. Keep up the amazing work, and thanks for sharing.

Wow. OK, so first of all, need to say that in context, this is the most engaging, charming and emotionally charged story I've read in an erotic game.

A couple disclaimers for those on the fence about whether or not to try it:

1. It's not a game. Yet. It has the potential to become one, but as written the "choices" (two options per choice) are basically the same each time
   1. Either you want to continue seeing interactions with that character
   2. Or you don't, which varies from simply abstaining from doing things with them in favor of relaxing, or being a jerk to them (with one notable exception for the reform choice).
2. It's also not really what I consider a "harem". To me, harem implies there's someone who runs/ owns a harem, and the rest are... harem slaves? Or at least harem girls beholden to the MC. This isn't like that at all. This is more like an altruistic, free love commune setup by the oldest sister and extended by at least one or two folks outside the family.

That said, the writing is SO engaging that, like a good book I simply wasn't able to play any other games until reaching the end of the current content here. The corny humor, the interweaving character story lines and histories, the emotionally charged scenes, and yes, the romance and real-feeling philosophical and psychological situations keep me glued to this story; and I am now, having reached the end, eagerly awaiting the next update. I NEED MY FIX OMG.

this is the cutest game i ever seen. not gonna lie. i'm not really a fan of cute content, but i was not disapointed by this one. the render is not the greatest but that does not matter the slitest. the focus on the characters and slice of life drama, maybe a little bit cliche in some parts, but as long as you make entertaning, i'm fine with that, and i'm fine with this game as well. maybe it does not have much to offer but the feelings thar gives me( happyness) is all that it needs. good work, keep it up

I loved this game, surely my top 3 favourite games. The charachters are intriguing and the way the relationships are developed and how the ideas and thoughts are made really bound with me. I'm really expecting more content soon.

This game is honestly the best one I have come across on this site. It is a heartfelt and touching story with lovable characters. There is not a lot of choice in the game but you are bound to find something you like. The game also has plenty of content! Keep up the great work!

I'm not a guy who cares about graphics, so some things didn't bother me, but, although the game/VN graphics are bad, other things make up for it and at the end of the version when you go to analyze the pros and cons you realize that some things compensate for some defects making it a good game/VN. So it scores 5/5.

Im not really good with words and I don't really like writing reviews, but I think that this Game is so special and nice, that I simply have to. So bear with me.

TL;DR:
5 Stars. Simply because the Storyline and Characters made me feel alot of things. Anger, Sadness, Happiness, Excitement, Pride and more.


I found this game randomly, by chance. I was looking through some updates and saw this. I Thought the characters looked Cute.
And then I started playing it.

At first, it didn't seem very original. Typical "Landlady and Roommate" Story. But when I progressed, I met a little girl that had a hard time in life. And i know that feeling. I wanted to help her, be the big brother I never could be. Then I learned more and more about the characters and their Past.

All in All, the story moved me alot. It made me feel alot, too. This game is a Gem, since the Story is so lovely and wholesome that it's a good contrast to the otherwise rather dark and grim stories I read.

The amount of Choices you have each time isn't big, but that's totally okay with me. With this story, I don't need many different choices. It doesn't mean you dont have any, of course. You can almost freely decide if you want to date a character and who not. And each character you decide to date and love, brings so much joy into this game. It's like a big family.

Lastly the visuals. I love them. The Scenes are nicely made, each character looks nice and the small jokes here and there lighten the mood even higher then it already is.

I'm looking forward to the future of this Game and it's characters.

I would nearly say on of the best VN´s I´ve played the last month. Great work so far. The style of the game is nicely done, also the animations looking good. The texts are understandable and the story is also nice.

Very solid VN, one of my favorites if not my favorite right now. Characters are all different and relatable, and you can actually understand their feelings and motivations, which is not always the case in this genre.
