chapter 1 - released on june 6
chapter 2 - released on july 1 (25 days after chapter 1)
chapter 3 - released on august 20 (50 days after chapter 2)
chapter 4 - released on october 24 (65 days after chapter 3)
today - 76 days after chapter 4
why does this happen to every fucking game lol. i know the dev said its because he's rendering multiple women into a sex scene and the AI struggles with that..... i hope the development isn't being slowed down for a lame harem-style threesome with the MC instead of something NTS/NTR related.....

The dev also did that one comic, and we had holidays, so it's expected that the next update would take longer. Looking forward to it, thought.

i know, its just weird how every game it feels like releases get slower and slower. you'd think development patterns would solidify, devs would get in a groove, become more familiar and comfortable with their tools, etc. this dev even quit his day job to work on this game full time so you'd think there would be a burst of productivity but nope

This is exactly what I tried to explain in this thread before, but no one listened to me. About 80-90% of games (numbers according to my personal feelings) almost always slow down in the speed of release updates with each update. It is already a standard in this industry, so I absolutely do not understand people who believe and believed until the end that updates will always be released with the same regularity. And I was told that update should supposedly be released 5-6 weeks after release of Chapter 4, which is absolute nonsense! So where are we now?
I am not saying anything bad about CG, he had reasons for delay. People just believe in what they themselves came up with (timing of update releases) and then become disappointed in it. I just want to say that we shouldn't expect updates to be released regularly every 50 days, but rather release time will be gradually stretched out, sometimes becoming shorter, and sometimes and most often longer. It's just happens with almost every game and there is absolutely nothing to be surprised about

I agree with you, in the sense that alot of people set their own expectations without any inside information on the development of each update, I don't know why...regarding the stretch of time between updates, it's not my goal to increase the time from update to update. You are right that it's the industry standart but I want to be different from that, or at least I try to be. One of the goals for Chapter 5 was to make a chapter smaller then Chapter4, and make a faster release. But I made some mistakes, it's getting closer and closer to Chapter 4 size and some scenes took a long of time and rework during playtest. Also, the holidays took a lot more time out of my schedule then I anticipated. But yeah I don't know why some devs do the things they do but I still have a lot of passion for the project, releasing a new update and seeing the feedback, the discussions, the fan theories, favorite new scenes,etc...I love all of that, I really do! Thank you guys, for keeping the hype and the love for the project! Makes me super hyped as well

Thank you for keeping that in mind, it really made an impact on this Chapter development, plus some new challenges always arrise but it's all part of the process

And now take into consideration the amount of images and dialogue per chapter. Then come back and say "Sorry, I didn't think this through.".
Lol, you basically was owned by the dev.
PS: I’m not implying that CG is bad or lazy—it’s just the reality of how things usually go. Almost all projects tend to slow down over time, even when the developers are working on them full-time. There are plenty of valid reasons for this, but it doesn’t change the fact itself.

Take as much time as you need, I think many others and me too are more concerned with quality over quantity (and I know it's very important to you too). It's rare to meet a developer who is really passionate about project and always tries to be in touch. This is already worth a lot

How is him making a mistake related to every chapter being bigger than the one prior, thus taking longer in terms of development time? "Slower" is simply the wrong term to describe what's happening, which is why I said what I said. It was also mentioned by other users that holiday season hits pretty much everyone, hence why this chapter is actually behind. Didn't know I had to explain it in detail for people to understand, but oh well.
Fact is, if you take into consideration the amount of images and content in combination with time spent per release, he's gotten faster with every chapter (aka renders/day). That especially holds true with Chapter 04's release compared to anything prior.

Toxic positivity is just as bad as toxic negativity, if not worse. I can understand people supporting the good work, but at the end of the day devs are producing these games for money so blatantly lying to just to defend someone else's business makes one look funny. Just a thought.

I dunno, it being pretty much the most popular NTS game by subs shows quite a few people seem interested in the MC getting involved, given it's been that way since the very start. Don't worry I'm sure there will be tons of NTS content too. Ultimately, it is a multi genre game. The main genre being NTS doesn't mean there aren't other things going on, incest has been in the tags since day one (for the stepcest) and there's never been a question about the MC getting involved.
That BTW doesn't make it a harem game. Harem is not = to getting laid, considering harem implies a level of control and exclusivity I doubt the MC will ever have.

Harem according to this forums rules means 3+ LIs are interested in the MC. That's what I was told when I asked for harem tag to be removed from mine. Has nothing to do with exclusivity or control.

Well shit, color me surprised. I was certain his production had gotten faster in every Chapter, but that's apparently only the case comparing Chapter 03 and Chapter 04. Which is really surprising considering he's been working full-time since Chapter 04's development. Huh..
Tell you what, I'm very much vocal about developers getting slower and slower in other threads, which I thought wasn't the case here. Well, he's picked up pace in Ch04 but that would be expected going from hobby project to full-time. Eh, I actually am a little speechless, and that's rare lemme' tell ya. I was wrong, my apologies.
Not trying to be toxic about this, what I said came from a place of certainty, except the numbers have proven me wrong which normally I'm one of the first to go after render/day counts and whatnot. In this case I just took it for granted without actually checking. Guess here's to hope that it's due to his GPU issues, otherwise there's hardly any good explanation moving forward, creative process or not.

In terms of speed of releases, there seems to be a lot of weird misconceptions in the thread about the only thing you need to worry about regarding release for an AI game being the speed at which you render things. Which is incredibly bizarre to me. As I am helping with another similar project, I can speak with some knowledge on the subject. The things that eat up your time with a project like this is not rendering a basic image. The things that eat up your time are the writing, the photoshop editing and - if you use such tools - more complex rendering techniques that require large amounts of custom masks and trial and error.
The quality has gone up each chapter, which personally matters to me more than the raw image count or time table. Compare the composition and quality of images and how they're used from chapter 1 to chapter 4. It's a night and day improvement and that can't be factored into a little math table. It's an improvement though that undoubtedly took a lot of time with photoshop, time to conceptualize and design. The writing also improved in this period.
This isn't Shakespeare, we all get why we're here. But having a quality standard for a more memorable product is still worth some level of additional effort in my opinion.
This is all before you factor in the fact he did a comic release and the holidays just happened, let the guy celebrate with his family or whatever else, everyone deserves a holiday. I think if releases continue as a trend to come further and further apart with no other outside reasons (such as quality increases/larger releases/holiday seasons/side releases like the comic) then sure, it's legitimate to criticize (although amusing in cases where one isn't paying for the product) but that hasn't really been the case.

Well I've been excluding Ch05 from my statements because of the holidays you've mentioned, and while I totally agree with the quality and additional effort/time needed, it still hit me like a truck seeing how Ch02 was quite a bit faster compared to Ch04 simply because he went from hobby project to full-time. He literally quit his job for this project. So yeah, I really am hoping this is just a temporary thing due to issues and- in regards to Ch05, the holidays.
I've mentioned in a previous post that there has to be some kind of balance between time / quality / amount of content, otherwise things could spiral out of control at some point. (Which wasn't even aimed at this project when I made the statement lol)

i think the art for this game is very good, one of the best... but for me, the most important part of the game is the story and scenarios and situations. and on that front, the past two updates have disappointed me in terms of story.
in chapter 2, vi shows off for sai. in chapter 3, vi shows off at a market. in chapter 4, vi shows off for a photographer. there's barely any escalation here. in my opinion, chapter 2 was the hottest of the three, because it offered the most chance of vi cheating/fucking sai, where the other two felt very tame.
and then each update has been full of sex scenes with erik, which are just kinda boring. seeing people in loving relationships having romantic sex is just not interesting to me lol, there's regular porn for that. the idea of a sharing/NTS game is that the love interest fucks OTHER people. even the side characters in this game fuck the MC instead of the guys (maki). which, again, is much closer to a boring vanilla harem game than a game that was pitched and presents itself as an NTS/sharing game.
in the end, the story matters more to me than fast updates, so increasing the NTS heat is more important to me than increasing the pace. but this is the central issue: if updates are taking longer AND aren't going anywhere, with content stagnating and retreading the same beats instead of escalating... that's no good.
i'm still a subscriber to the patreon but this next update is kinda make or break for me.
