Hello, long time game dev+programmer here, though I've nearly never finished anything.
I'm here to share some footage for a game idea I had a few days ago, I wanted to go with something simple so I don't burn myself out like I always do, I decided to go with a platformer where you play as a sperm doing what sperm usually do, you follow the generation line of women chronologically, but you'd play as the sperm of various men along this generational path.
I've decided to create it in Godot as that's what I have the most experience using.
Here's what I have;
I wrote down some ideas I've had for gameplay, hopefully this can ignite in you some ideas of your own that you can share with me I want to make something for this site and since I'm so early in development this is all still very liquid so I'm open to any ideas I think would be good for the game.
I'm only going to add these ideas and levels that use these ideas AFTER I get the simple version of the game finished and posted, it'd be stupid to work on most of these ideas without a first slice to build off of, these ideas are only ideas, and aren't promises of anything as well ofc, it's just to help you with any suggestions you might have;
- A DNA score system that decreases slowly over time, you can gather DNA throughout the level.
You can spend DNA on;
- DNA would interact with multiple systems;

- The sex position should change the layout/gravity of the level, the position would be random (dying would change the position) (all levels would be premade, sorted based on position & difficulty)
- "Wind-like" shifts that affects your momentum in certain parts of the level due to the fleshy-ness of the host.
- Inflammation tiles that damage you.
- Tiles that you can't pass normally and can only dash through.
- Maybe a way to flip gravity? I haven't settled on this yet.
- Female will be randomized which also influences how the female will look in future generations, male will look different every time and will also influence the genetics (stuff like hair and eye color, nothing crazy, I'm NOT an artist hahaha, the basic sprites I've made so far took me like 6 actual hours to make, I'm using some grayscale code that adds color on-the-fly so color based genetics is easy without any re-drawing).
- A DNA score system that decreases slowly over time, you can gather DNA throughout the level.
You can spend DNA on;
- Extra lives
- Spermicide Resistance
- Buying 'Attractive' DNA perks that increase female fertility during the level and lower DNA decay
/ and what your offspring will look like in future generations.
(Since you play as a sperm of a random male I guess you're upgrading the EGGs at the end of the level(s) with the DNA points you gather and not the sperm you play as?)
- DNA would interact with multiple systems;
- There is a chance of impreg failure if DNA falls below a certain undecided amount.
- Taking damage causes you to drop DNA similar to rings in sonic.
