VN - Ren'Py - My True Desire [v0.3.1] [DTZ Games]

can't say i enjoyed this one. at least not what is presented so far.

WHAT'S GOOD:

- ana's (the main love interest) character art looks good, she is beautiful. AI is very good at drawing beautiful women.

- the overall style and vibe goes well together, the various art elements are coherent

WHAT'S OKAY:

- the player character's art is very inconsistent, with his outfit changing a lot, bouncing from masculine to feminine, etc.but honestly, i'm pretty forgiving of this, as long as the images are hot (and they are!)

- no music or sound effects really. it's still early so this may improve, so i'm putting this in "okay" for now


WHAT'S BAD:

- there's a lot of very typical AI art mistakes here that should really be refined before release. example: there's a scene where the main character goes to wash his hands, and it cuts to art where the main character is soaking wet from head to toe. this is a really typical AI hallucination, where "washing hands, hands wet" is used as a prompt, and the AI made the whole image dripping with water. a line of dialogue was added to try and make this make sense: "oops i guess i got my whole body wet while washing my hands," which is... odd. it would've been better to generate a better image, or just skip the hand-washing scene anyway, because why do we care to see it at all?

- the writing is sooooooo weird. in the first scene of the game, the main character overhears ana talking to another man... and the game plays a heartbeat sound effect, and the MC's inner monologue is about his vision blurring and almost passing out? because his girl is TALKING to another guy, clothed, and in public? it's just... bizarre. later, ana gets invited to a pool party, and the way the story treats it, it's like she got invited to an orgy. it's a pool party! a very normal thing!

- the main character hasn't even said out loud that he's interested in sharing or... anything! it's just a bunch of scenes of the main character stammering, gulping, and beating around the bush, but never actually committing to anything. this does not bode well for the game respecting the player's time.

FINAL VERDICT:

i don't think the sloppy art and writing are enough to support a slow burn, multi-chapter game. those games only work when the writing is stellar and you really care about the characters involved, but everything so far is too strange to serve as a good foundation. i hope things turn around in future chapters, which i will check out, and amend my review as needed.

As of v0.2, with first two chapters, there is little action. Graphics are very good. Story is promising. Characters are interesting.

It has good use animations despite using AI CG images. Also has good use of sound effects. Use of PNG file format instead of JPG or WEBP increases the game size unnecessarily for little recognizable graphical quality increase.

This will one of the favorite games I will be watching and I hope it doesn't evolve into netorase.

Loving this game so far. The AI art is actually very polished and you can barely tell it's AI generated. MC's girlfriend is hot and her personality is actually very interesting, together with their relationship it's very intriguing to know where things will go. The flow of the story feels natural and doesn't feel boring. There isn't an excessive amount of text too, which is very appreciated. Definitely gonna keep playing the next releases.

A very good game with best flow of story. The art is definitely one of the best. Waiting for more update coming, keep up the work your game is really amazing. The story is developing but I think it's one of the most promising so far.

This seems to be the most promising project in the ntr/nts genre at the moment. Good writing, great graphics, and I think the author did a great job with the edited images. Moreover, it is not a phone simulator (almost). Please support it

My True Desire is a game where I really felt the love for the whole experience for the player. Though, just with it being an initial release, MTD sets up it's core characters in a nice way.

The AI art is carefully made with the art style being distinct and clean enough without it being bland. The sound design and atmosphere was great. A lot of devs skimp out on this aspect. The writing feels natural and I really feel like getting to know the FMC, Ana, better.

I'm excited for future updates.

Originally, on 0.2, I rated this a 4-star game. With the third chapter now released, I am happy to up it to a 5 star.

This game is still a bit short due to only having 3 chapters, but everything that has come out has been of superb quality. The main female character, Ana, is great, as are the as of yet two side characters. I'm a sucker for Gabi, the new side girl in 0.3, and am going to play not exclusively for her going forward, but certainly mainly for her.

While there are a lot of recent AI art NTS games, My True Desire separates itself from the pack through a few things. First, it has choices. They're still quite small, but being there at all does allow for some variation which most other games in this genre don't allow for (for valid reasoning). On top of that, I truly feel that from what we have so far, My True Desire has the most realistic pacing/approach. Obviously, as all AVNs do, some suspension of belief is required, but the degree of which needed here is a lot less.

I haven't mentioned the visuals yet, of which I'm a huge fan, or the lewd scenes which I find are done incredibly well on a consistent basis.

I'll definitely be following this game along to it's completion, and DTZ has made their way on to a short list of developers I am happy to support continually. I would definitely recommend playing this game if you have the time.

very good start. Art is consistent. Story looks like it has direction. Looking forward to further developments and hoping dev manages to stay consistent with releases instead of fizzling out like others.

The art and writing for FMC is so hot. I am absolutely in love. She's so perfectly thicc in all the right places and has such a cute and sexy personality. I am 100% in love with her, and it's making me not want to get cucked, but still want more.

I know it's going to hurt good when she starts to fuck other men.

A great start. I love the art style and the fact that the girlfriend has an oral fetish. The only downside is that it has no sound. I’m not referring to music, but the sound effects during sex. Having sound is probably one of the easiest ways to elevate your game, and I’d love to see it added.

Despite the overused pattern combo: AI + NTR this game is such beautiful. The story is well set up and intriguing the graphics are the best i've ever seen using an AI engine. The choices are on point and not odd. My rate 5/5

i see that the story has potential , just i hope the dev doesn't rush it or make it too artificial. the flow of chapter 1 didn't feel very .. real ? the situations were a bit hard for my head to digest as normal events. art is good , there's not much content for now. i think this is the dev's first VN and i hope the story develops to be good and original.

Well there are obviously very similar games but since i can't see any flaws yet i don't see a reason to give it a bad rate. Visuals are relatively unique despite being an AI, writing is engaging and i really like the audio design.

We will see how it goes but currently i am hopeful with what i see.

It's a very good start. I'm looking forward to see the progress of this game. I love the arts and the multiple characters with different kinks. Good job dev.

Just one suggestion: I would add eyes to the MC to make him more real.

A nice game. The best part is the art and the models, they are hot! There's space to improvement, like work a bit more on the narrative, since it's a VN, it's must be the principal part of the game to be at least OK. I see good things in the future if the dev keep improving. In the future I will edit this review for better if things get interisting.
3 Stars, for now.
