Identify Mystery game

I'm looking for a game I used to play. I'll describe it the best I can. You play as a soldier that went AWOL and your family thinks that you're dead. eventually your father dies and you return home and surprise your family. While you're at home, your general that's been working with you and keeping an eye on you, gets killed.
