I tried to download the emulator from Github, which was posted here, set it up but only an error message popped up in Japanese (spilled tea). I only understood that it said something about version 1.2 but I don't know more, could someone please help??

First, use Locale Emulator and set it to Japanese. Second, try using the software renderer (config.exe).

All wolf RPG games come with a config.exe. When you launch it you will be presented with an options menu (below, image taken from another game). The top-left section allows you to switch to software rendering (second option).
