VN - Ren'Py - Abandoned - Navigating The Rift [v0.5] [TrippyDippity]

This game is clunky and flawed, it does not deserve high rating, even ignoring abandoned status.
On positive side there is a decent initial setting/story setup, there are also animations which are not bad.

But the way story unfolds and gameplay was setup is not satisfying. You literally have to repeat same 3-4 days scenes with literally same dialogues, that break all immersion. This is not a game, but a visual novel, with a glitch, where same page is read 3-4 times in row.

Then the story jumps to "next corruption stage" with a phrase 2 weeks time skip. The corruption of heroine in the end simply boils down to drugging her up.

It feels like something major is missing in the game that would tie it all up together. It all feels bland and boring like reading slideshow. None of the characters are interesting.

The guy who has endless repair scenes in the ship, is also seemingly repairing same stuff over and over again. It is also illogical from his part that he never had intimacy with GF despite sleeping together, and having it a lot before.

i'm rating this 5 stars just to piss the guy below me. it's the best ntr game of all time, but sadly the dev abandoned it without saying anything. i hope he comes back before i die and complete this masterpiece once and for all

Navigating the Rift is an interesting but flawed game. Not counting the fact that it was abandoned (I knew it from the start) the way it proceeds is peculiar: you go through a routine, see some short animations,get some dialogue and repeat day after day. Each 3 days or so the routine moves to the next step, sometimes with a special scene in the middle which is usually the best thing in the game. No choices, no real gameplay, and a lot of the "action" happens off camera and just told by a notification.

Render quality is pretty nice though, and animations are short but well done.There is no music and most sounds are annoying (specially the humming in the background). But there were also no bugs, even if some usual features like a gallery are missing.

So, all in all, this one was promising but it was dropped before fulfilling the promise and correcting the mistakes since its inception.

The story could actually have potential, but it never manages to become exciting at any point. The storytelling feels flat, and having to repeat every progress sequence three times just to reach the next stage of corruption gets annoying fast.
The MC is simply dumb as a rock and nothing more than a soulless placeholder for a cuck. He fits perfectly into an overall boring story.

The image quality is okay, but there isn’t enough material or variety. The animations, on the other hand, look surprisingly good: same render quality, but with pleasantly smooth and natural movement.

And yes, the project is obviously abandoned, so nothing is ever going to improve. If you’re extremely bored, you can take a look, but it’s nothing more than mediocre.

Game had a lot potential. Aromored Battle Solgante is one of my faves because of the hot model and the camera mechanic. This kind of captures that feel with the camera tactic.

That is a good basis of a game. Sadly that it was abbandoned. Although it is not perfect. The grindy part of the game still exist. You have to do the same things and have the same dialigoues without any changes for 2-3 times. Thats a strange thing. There is a big potential in it. But as of now I can't call it a perfect game

My favorite NTR game on this site.

I really like the slow corruption of the GF, as well as the fact that the BF is unaware of the affair. The renders and animations are really good, Ashley especially is really hot, and the live camera mechanic is also nice and unique.

The usage of drugs is also great. The GF doesn't just become a mindless slut who craves the dick of the antagonist, she still loves her BF and feels guilty cheating on him, which is what I want to see in NTR games/hentais. There's been a lot of NTR stories where the GF no longer cares about her BF after tasting the antagonist's dick, and that's a trope in NTR stories that I hate.

The antagonist corrupting and stealing the pure and innocent GF, while the GF tries to remain faithful to her BF while feeling guilty about her affair is what makes NTR games/hentais really exciting and naughty, for me at least, and this game does that beautifully.

Unfortunately, the game's marked as abandoned and there's been no word from the dev about the game for over a year now, indicating that this game will never get finished, which really saddens me.

Seriously, why is it that a lot of the games that gets abandoned are mostly the good ones?

For me, the game had potential but was wasted. It is so boring. You have to repeat the same day three times with the exact same dialogues in order to move on and after that again all identical days with more of the exact same dialogues. A real shame. The story is nonexistent. Nothing happens except switching from one scene to another. There is very little introspection. The animations are not bad but even those are always the same until you level up. The idea might have been good but the execution is very very bad.

This game is really good!

I like the camera ideas, the game is running really well and the story is really interesting!

I just wish there were more options to see Charles' side when Mike is doing maintenance!

A must-have corruption game!

Really fun, simple concept. An actual NTR game (so far, seems like it will continue as thus) and not NTS or anything else.

The model is hot, the corruption cycle is short (per stage) but decently done and enjoyable. I haven't messed around with calling every time to see if it has any impact on the corruption.

It's a really fun NTR game, if that's your thing. Hopefully it will reach completion

0.5 - As of now the game overall I would rate as mediocre, it has a fair number of glitches and many scenes are repetitive. Introductory scenes that start at each chapter are played repeatedly when they should only play once. It doesn't make sense how you can view your gf on camera but then the story plays out as if you know nothing.

Story - Kinetic, no choices of any consequence
Visuals - Renders are decent, animations are decent
Sound - No sex sounds

If there was something I could change about the game play it would be that I'd add some kind of push back from the bf, as it stands you do nothing even though you feel the relationship with your gf stagnate. It would be nice if you could compete for her feelings/make efforts to reignite the passion and this would cause the gf to have greater internal conflicts that would affect the story line.
It also doesn't make sense that bf and gf don't make time for each other, it's currently explained as an urgency to fix the ship so they don't die, however the ship has lasted 6 years without going kaput soo..

Really hits the sweet spot for an NTR game. Not too long, gets right to the action, but with a repeating game loop that means it doesn't feel like the story is happening too fast either (get that skip function ready, by default it won't skip any unseen text). In the "oblivious boyfriend" subgenre, like Netoria Tactics. Also, it's sci-fi, which a is a bit of a rarity compared to contemporary or fantasy settings. Mini-animations also make it stand out, and are well integrated as pseudo security cam feeds.

I can't give this game the same positive reviews that have been listed hear. The beginning of this game is terrible. You do the exact same thing day after day, after day, after day . . . I don't know how long it goes on. I gave up. Go to work repairing ship; see that the crazy, possibly evil, guy who "rescued" you is drugging and putting moves on your girl. Repeat.

That is the whole game as far as I know.

Can't believe it is a first game! They are some really minor defaults, like replaying a short scene when you just read the "GF tracker 3000".
It was long time I hadn't enjoy a game this much.
Nice renders, good pace, ... Love it!

KUDOS. The game had some very hot scenes although the Poker scene was indeed the hottest by a longshot. I love the potential of this game and it inspired me to write a review.

PROS
- I hate dream sequences unless they are done correctly and that sequence was absolutely perfect.
- The LI is super thick and super hot.
- I hate Sci Fi in my porn like oil in water but this was done perfectly
- Not an overly complicated story. Still gets too the point.
- No GRIND even though you repeat tasks the story will eventually progress.
- Slightly slow burn. Almost just the way I like it.

CONS
- Someone should release a in game color coordinated guide that tells you when the next scene will trigger. I know the dialogue changes slightly but it almost got too loopy and the game is so hot you don't want to miss a thing.
- This definitely should have the "sandbox tag" as you have to interact with in-game buttons and The Dev almost lost a star for being sneaky. I hate sandbox and would have passed but the game is that good.
- I think the Girlfriend cam is too ambitious for now. Repurpose those scenes for a gallery or add more POV scenes from the LIs perspective during the day once there is more content.
- The Antagonist grew on me, he looks like a scumbag and I guess that's the point. I feel like something about him is missing. He could have been an ex-rival or old relative or a brilliant nerdy evil genius and it would have given him more weight.
- LI or GF should have been hornier in advance. More sex deprived.
- Drugging. C'mon Dev. I hate this premise in games. Just give the Antagonist some Riz. The poker game antics are way better than slowly drugging her. Like WTF

4.5 for now

Excellent work, excellent graphics and animations, a very interesting project that I will definitely invest in. I like the concept of the plot, I like the fact that we can literally follow every step of our girl.

I would like to see the game a little more interactive, a little more activity would not hurt, it would also help the game a lot if it had sounds, which is important during calls and scenes.

One of the best new 'western' NTR games I have played in a while. The corruption progress is done very nicely. Its not overly long and straight up to the point while at the same time not rushing too much through the game and the corruption progress.

So there is a lot of positives, e.g. render quality is good, scenario is great, cor. progress is nice and a lot more. What should specifically be mentioned is that the gameplay mechanics are really well done and they really go along with the game and the genre (e.g. cam records, spying and voyeurism mechanics, phone calls -though I would like to have some visual feedback there as well, stat overview, focus on body modifications....).

Rather then focusing too much on what has been done great so far I want to emphasize on what the dev could do better or where there is potentail to add more. I am doing this cause I like the game and I would like to see it and the dev improving in some improtant ways (IMO).

So with that out of the way I would suggest that the dev does take a little more time with the corruption progress. I like the pace overall, but especially towards the end of the current version, things escalate a little too fast imo. I would like the dev to really squeeze the fruit a bit more to build up more anticipation. Also - while I like the input of scenes through the gameplay mechanisms - I would like to see more story scenes, as well as additional scenes overall. Have a spontanous chat with the female MC and the antagonist at someplace in the space station, while he is groping her. Or things like the dinner events. Also I would like to see the female POV during the phone calls (at least as an option).
One of the biggest concerns for me is that the female MC is a bit too obedient and naive. She is corrupted too fast and doesnt resist enough imo. The antagonist for example already took photos and videos - that something where I would have loved to see the female MC get very angry for the first times. In general she should be struggeling more and there should be more points in the story where she resists the antagonist and fights against him. Things go a little bit too easy for the antagonist after all.
Also, I personally prefer more bonding moments (doesnt have to be h-scenes) between the MC and the female MC to make their bond stronger, thus making the NTR more spicy.

Last but not least I hope that the dev really builds upon the body modifications mechanic. Dont make too drastic changes (e.g. next step nipple piercings), rather do changes little by little, step after step. I do hope we see a lot of outfit and underwear variations as well. Also I do hope more gameplay mechanics are going to be implemented (e.g. cam/conference calls with video footage, body marks from kisses or butt slaps, body paintings and tattoos, the antagonists photo and video collection, pregnancy stats in the future, there is a lot that could be added).

All in all I gotta give a lot of credit to the dev though. Great job so far!! I wish you all the best of luck for the further development of the game and I will be following you around to see where you will go in the future.

The gameplay loop is unbelievably hot. It is so simple straight forward but still absolutely freaky. Ofcourse NTR is non optional so the game isn't for everyone. But atleast for its intended purposes the game definitely deserves 5 stars and ofcourse I hope it continues.

Love the idea of this! It's like an NTR trainer game, where the another guy trains your GF. It's a great idea and really enjoyed it for what it is.

Only giving it 4 stars as the story takes place over weeks of time and the MC doesn't even get a handjob from his GF. I'm a fan of more realistic styles and by having the GF have sex with the MC, just less regularly, through the NTR training, it would be more realistic and i think a better story overall.

Anyways, great premise and want to see more.
