It's hard to just 'give advice' about a program like Daz. Especially when that advice isn't catering to anything specific.
Tutorials are the best way to start from 0 with Daz, imo. Parmy Baddhan, IT-Roy, The WP Guru (and his stuff on the offical Daz channel), Rauko, Steven David, etc. will give you a good jump into the Daz stuff. Just hop on YT and type something like "Daz tutorials for beginners" and see what piques your interest. If you find yourself enjoying it, then perhaps take a deeper look into the paid stuff, or you can try to pick it all up yourself. That's up to you in the end.
A lot Dreamlight's stuff is really good, and at a decent price ($10/month without the bonuses, for most of them at least.). He basically has them separated into sections.

, pricier than the former for the beginner, but the guys (and gals) over there are legit. If you find yourself not so into the rendering part, you could always go the Twine route with either a completely text-based game or go the real-porn route. You can try your luck over on the Recruitment forum, as well.
