No, the 1.40 update is already out (just not on F95 yet). What will probably take 6 months is finishing the DLC, which is understandable, since he is working on two games at the same time.

Honestly, I didn't exactly dream of a DLC/sequel like this.. We need to rescue some random girls we barely know, and not members of our harem. It's good for some challenge, just I can't see any trace of NTR here..
I expected them to improve the base game first, as there is zero challenge in defeating the natives.

The new girls might be extended members of your squad that acted as the in between crew for mc and the higher ups. Just a theory with nearly 0 evidence beyond same species.

Holy shit I wasn't expecting this much content being announced, though I wonder if the bad end and tattoo content will be locked to the DLC (since that portion is under the DLC section)
Some kind of bond would be really good between these upcoming girls and the MC before they getting kidnapped. Without feeling of any loss it's not NTR just a simple battle game, so I also think this DLC is stumbled upon a wrong direction.
But in case of the current squad there should also be a bit more possibilty to form a bond with each girl. If I remember correctly, you can only get love points by mating, which I feel a bit nonsense. Maybe a little more emphasis on chatting, or giving the girls some gifts etc. And the opportunity to choose one or two special or favorite girls would make this game a little more playable.
I'm convinced that this developer is still far more talented than the other 90% on this site. So I won't give up the hope.

I mean, Its his first "open-world" game, obviously he will make mistakes. But at least he does things that his fans ask for (also fixing reported bugs), while also trying to make the game better. You can see that from this update as well, he found ways to optimize his game more, so more people can actually play it. From the changelog:

Well... considering that 90% of the "games" here are made from ready-made 3D assets or assets from Honey Select/Koikatsu engine or made by AI garbage with a weak idea or made for "subscribe to my Patreon/Subscribestar/something else"... I can't disagree with you.
Up until a certain point, I generally thought that THIS was his first game. And I like to see his prompt work throughout the development. And if there are no questions about bug fixing, then with new content it's a different story... because I still see this "dead weight" of requests regarding 3 specific things: masturbation (which he himself wanted to add), pregnancy (for some reason///) and poses with 3 participants. And if pregnancy was rejected as an idea in which he didn't see the point, then poses and masturbation were "forgotten" because he has no idea how to do it without getting a ton of bugs as a result.
And sorry, I made the monologue "stuffy" it's just so to speak historical reference... If I wasn't interested in his project, I wouldn't be here. After all, his game is unique and I'm interested to see what will happen next... considering that in the DLC he decided to "step over himself" and implement some things that he had been asked for a long time, including poses with 3 partners (or as for the latter, it just seemed to me...)

It's probably more correct to say "ghosts" that haunt from one version to another. I'm just saying this as someone who read the comments up until ver.1.37... I don't know about 1.38-40, but you can find these requests in the comments of previous versions. The reasons why these things won't be there have already been announced, but the request was still there... a burden?! Definitely not, rather things that many players wanted, but for certain reasons it remained a "wish"

I don't have that much time to find these posts. But for the masturbation contents the dev should probably introduce an arosual bar first to work propelly.
The reason for the group positions comes this late is probably that the mating speed affects the relationship. So I assume it's not an easy task to implement.
As for the pregnancy, I don't really understand the obstacle, but maybe the dev has found this content too extreme, and didn't want to move in a ryona themed direction.

Well:
1) The pregnancy mechanic was cancelled due to the complexity of implementation and the developer did not see the point in its existence.
2) Group poses were simply hard to implement
3) Masturbation existed "in the idea" in parallel with the mechanic that if your girls had low affection, there would be a chance that in a fight they would refuse to fight and start sex with the natives. There are no comments about these mechanics, since they both "died in silence"
Funny thing is, when i first played this game, i thought that the hair color of the characters changed to white as they got corrupted, but i noticed that the blue haired girl doesn't change, so i commented on the creator's ci-en page something like "i'm a little sad that her hair doesn't change" and the creator's like "oh their hair doesn't change, but that may be something i add" or smth like that

Sounds like DeepSeek is taking some liberties with that translation. "Alpha Male" has a bunch of connotations not attached to the kanji/term used there. What's actually written just generically means "Strong Male."
Also, given that Crucifixion is defined as "Tying to a post and stabbed with many spears" and he put the kanji in quotations, tying them to a post for gangbangs sounds like the likely scenario.

Very stupid theory for how the DLC girls could have a relation to the player character. It all hinges on weather or not there ends up being a male that gets taken out by the natives after landing. My theory is that if there isn't another male then there is a chance, though unlikely, that males could be kinda like pack leaders, having a harem of females that work under them and do different tasks basked on their skills. Knowing the little we do about the DLC girls, they could specialize in low danger rescue and going off the fact that the distress signal was sent before the players first encounter with the natives and how they are deemed to violent in end credits, they clearly didn't get all the info before departing on the mission. the whole relation part could come in the form of them being part of the player character's pack/ harem since before the game starts.
