There may be no NTR encyclopedia (though I wouldn't be surprised if there was), but there's VNDB for visual novels and lo and behold the kinetic novel definition: "A kinetic novel is a VN that does not present the "player" with any choices at all; they simply read through a single unbranching story."
Netorase Phone has choices, like the (very) Dom/Sub ones, those that get you some variations on some scenes (with their own CGs), and the ones that prevent or allow some character's actions (Ashley's teasing, Oliver being a bull, etc.). While we could argue about the first 2 categories, the last one is impactful enough not to match with the Wikipedia definition: "Kinetic novels are visual novels with non-branching plots, similar to a conventional novel or a graphic novel in multimedia form."
Netorase Phone is not a kinetic novel.

What sparks my curiosity is that the first versions worked really well, then it started going downhill with each version : one version lagged, the following one had freezes, then the next added occasional crashes, and the last two won't even start.
I might not have enough RAM, but why would open world 3D games run on my phone and not this one ?
There is no branching, there is no paths, there is only pseudo-choices which lead to add a few line of text or just skip some event. If you want to see not a kinetic novel play Our Red String once and you will see the difference.
Netorase Phone is clearly a kinetic novel.
Very well done to the level it doesn't matter, but kinetic.

There are no big branches but there are some twigs, maybe? Hahaha
Besides the different texts, which you could argue it doesn't count, last chapter we could tell Laura to come home or to surprise Nathan in the shower, which had different pictures.
Even thought it's small things, I wouldn't consider this KN because of it. But you do you.

When you have only 1 guy, 3 main girls, 2 bulls, 1 side girl with real branching you will be "well, lets play a route when I am dominant king, watching Laura get fucked by 2 bulls in Ashley's living room, while Tara and Ashley sucking me off"
all I have to do is choose dominant, come to Ashley and listen together to Laura and Nathan, and insist for Tara sending completely nude selfie to me, because if she send bra selfie it will be a different scene, when only Ashley sucking me off and Tara just watch and masturbate
this is call real VN with real branches
if people whole game clicking everything related to jealousy respond to be awarded by 2 strings of text added to the same main text I wouldn't consider it even as a twigs. But you do you.

"no branching" -> skips are shortcuts, shortcuts are branchings, even if they lead to the same point later, like a branch road.
"no paths" -> let me quote Le Stag:
Those paths change how you're treated by other characters and lead to variations like how they talk to you, what they do to Laura and even how some scenes conclude.
"only pseudo-choices" -> how is accepting/rejecting Ashley or any bull a pseudo-choice? That's pretty major on the scale of this story.
Most people here know what a traditional VN is, no need to make a pretentious show of how you know about the game #3520 on the "number of people who rated it" ranking on VNDB. It's like describing what an action movie is to a r/moviecritic redditor by taking "Warriors of the Rainbow" as the example.
When you reading the book and decided to skip next paragraph about character you don't like it doesn't make your experience interactive at all.
Even if it is for you a PRETTY MAJOR
Kinetic Novels are so easy to make, but they are not popular at all, so most devs of kinetic novels are adding buttons - Accept Offer / Reject
If you reject - sex scenes skipped until next Accept Offer interaction. For someone who really in such kind of games maybe decision not to fuck step-mom a pretty major too. For me personally reason to close the game and never play again.
I am not writing on VNDB forum and not for most people.
I am answering to specific person with specific example, which by the way on this forum has 22.5 millions views and rating 4.6

Using a book as analogy, if at some point of it you had to choose between reading two different single pages, I'd already not consider it a conventional book, even if you could argue that it's a shitty "choose-your-own-adventure" choice system...

I saw a lot of potential, so I subscribed to Patreon and asked Le Stag directly if it's gonna be any branching and paths or it all be just kinetic novel with different text depends on pseudo-route.
He answered - kinetic novel.
Even I was disappointed, I still subscriber and supporting him with money.
Now, I know what expect and understand all limitation such format will bring.
And people starting complain that Super-Duper Dom route in last update is not Duper enough.
And I understand that in such format Le Stag has very limited tools on hand. He can add text and skip event. That's it.
The only a little branch in the game on very sub route with a little difference in text (not just adding) and different pictures which was not branching at all. You can see it before - naked picture of Ashley or dressed picture of Ashley with a little different text.
I am not complaining about the game, I like it very much.
I trying to explain to people who wants Duper that is not possible.
Why? Because of limitations of format.
And here comes everybody else (like you two) and 1. Blaming me that I critique of the game itself (I am not) 2. Trying to convince me this is VN with real branching (which is not)

I don't want Duper (I mean, I want, but I don't expect it from this game) and I'm not blaming you, I just have different opinion. You shouldn't take that as a personal attack, man.
And I also isn't trying to convince you of anything, I just said that there is some, albeit small and very few in between, branching. Like I said earlier, you do you, I don't care...
And finally, just because the author says it's not a fact (no offense, Le Stag). I've seen countless of games on which the author said it's netorare when it was netorase or vice-versa. Just because it fits his definition, doesn't mean it's the right one.

Comparing a book that is not made with those choices in mind to a visual novel is dumb. Like saying that a comic book is a cartoon with paused images.
Cherry-picking part of a sentence to suit your agenda is dumb too.

If a creator was right on everything about its creation (no offense to Le Stag), everyone would pronounce GIF "jif" and not "guif" and "Street Fighter the movie" would be a "Star Wars/James Bond/war movie".
The tools are not what prevents multiple endings, more and bigger branching, etc. Unity allows to do much more. What prevents all of that is the concept he has in mind and resources (mainly time he can invest into those parts). If you were a game dev like you claimed to have been, you should know that. But you just proved you never were.
When did I blame you for critiquing the game? Add delusional paranoid (pleonasm) to cherry-picker. The only point I've made was that it's not a kinetic novel, in part with a definition you conveniently ignored, by the way.
And anyway, there's nothing wrong with making critiques, even more when the author has the intelligence to accept them.
There's branching. What your elitist mind considers real or not doesn't matter. A branch is a branch, whatever its scale.
And don't bother answering previous questions, I've found that useful "ignore" button to use on your profile, mister "I spoke directly to EA, Blizzard, Ubisoft, Unreal CEOs".
