Netori vs Netorare & Netorase

I come in peace y'all and I don't wanna start any arguments but I just want to know why NTR lovers love it so much. Coz I've been so curious about how the genre became so popular because I always felt like the opposite (netori) would be more popular imo. So can explain what about it y'all like it so much.??

For people like drag0nf6y it' isn't just the cucking. It's the destruction and the corruption. It's an incredibly one note outlook on vn/adult game kinks, but people like that are purist about it. They can't admit that netori has just as much corruption and destruction because it's the MC doing it in netori instead of it being inflicted on the MC. They're basically masochist netorase lovers.

that’s exactly why it’s boring as hell. it’s not you doing the cucking, it’s the mc/protagonist, and whether it hits or not depends on if you even wanna project/self insert onto him (which i and many usually don't, except in some cases)

I like this argument because it directly contradicts the "I don't self insert" statement that so many people claim.

I still wouldn't tie it to netorase simply because netorase implies there's willingness from both FMC and MC, but in most cases the FMC is just stolen.

If I were to self insert as a netorase masochistic lover it simply wouldn't work because while the hurt and the loss is there, the consent and the willingness from both parties isn't.

afaik, real ntr/netorare fans (such as myself) don’t really self insert/project at all, unless it’s a rare case. like if the fmc is a waifu tier character, or the mc is genuinely relatable or well written (which is like 1 in 100 games). i’d say 95–98% of ntr players aren’t projecting onto the mc. it’s more about watching the corruption unfold, not feeling it as the mc. if anything, the rare self insert is into the bull, not the one getting cucked (that's what netorase/ntrs/nts fans does xD). plus, ntr usually has better animation/art compared to most genres, so it just hits harder visually

have you played mirage's defection? that might change your perspective, since it's one of the best written ntr games with both vanilla and ntr routes on this site

I shake my head at the level of coombrainedness you'd need to think a story being "boring" or not is for a large part a result of its central kink. Instead of, I don't know, a coherent, creative and original plot (instead of a cookiecutter plot), polished and fitting writing, engaging and (sufficiently) believable characters (instead of stock characters), and relevant and refreshing themes. Sure, the kinks being appealing to you helps for an adult story, but if you're old enough to be on this site you're too old to turn them into a big reason why a story's "boring".
