I have a growing suspicion of catfish, OP don't really want help, "input" or opinions, OP isn't lost, OP is seeking attention.

I've been doing smut for the best part of the last 10 years or so and there are women in almost every project I've worked in, almost always writing or drawing, porn game IS NOT (as far as my experience go) a "male only" sector, far from it.

it's not about giving a "female perspective" and it's not about "seeking advises from the community to get help and guidance", it's just a flawed human fishing for approval and attention.

I'm done talking here, ta-ta

Thank you for your detailed feedback, Ill try my best to explain my pov.

you said that you want to use the fact that you are a girl to present a more womanly perspective... And goes straight for the corruption cliché overused in female protagonist games
Yes, this is what I wanted to create. The same idea as those games, but from the girls pov. Non-con is one of my main kinks and so that is what I wanted to be the main point for my first game.
I do have future stories in mind where the girl is the one doing the corrupting of her brother/dad/mom/etc.
That being said, I do have plenty of other interests as well. If I continue this path of creating nsfw games (which is the plan), then it won't be that incest or non-con are the main kinks. They might not be in some stories at all.

Another reason for me wanting to try this adventure is because although yes, I am a woman, I have grown tired of the lovey dovey romance games that you typically see for women. My whole aim for this project is to create lewd porn/romance games for other women like me. This game is a project for me to see if I can learn how it works, how I like doing it, and if I see myself creating the games that I have in mind long term.

Hmm, I don't get it. An interactive VN is too much of works for you, so you decide to do something that will be ten times more complicated to do ?
It is not the 'complexity', it's the screencaps, the visuals. I have spent so much time on the screencaps for the demo, and I didnt even edit them yet. Seeing how much time it takes me to set the scene, move the models and such for just this small demo... It makes me feel extremely overwhelmed knowing how much time it would take to make edited screencaps for the story that I have in mind.
I've quickly thrown together a crudely drawn routemap: Routemap.png

The idea I got in mind now is that you play through the VN part, read the story with perhaps a choice or 2.
Then into sandbox in which you can choose which stats to raise, and then, when you reach a certain amount of points on one of the stats, that it then goes to the VN linked to that stat.

I'm not sure why you feel that way but I can assure that I am no catfish.
I have not been 'doing smut' for many years unlike you, so I have no idea if it really is a 'male only' sector, I just think it is. I'd love to connect with other female porn game devs.
Also, just because I say I wanted to give a 'female perspective' does not automatically mean that I want sweet but sexy romance games. If you been doing smut for the last 10 years as you say then you should also know that women can also like the more 'extremer' kinks.
I do want advise, I am completely new to coding, game creation, making images... I'm not sure what you expect?

3) Regarding the medium of your story, I'd say go with what feels most fun for you.
Thank you for point 1 and 2, I will look into those games. I'm quite new I will say to a lot of the games I've come across on this forum. My played lewd games consisted mostly of the old school flash porn games :ROFLMAO: As far as VN's go, I only knew of the romance/anime style VN's and I wanted to combine them. That's when I first came across itch.io and found games similar in style to what you suggested, and that's when ideas started growing.

Regarding point 3 as quoted, I am trying to figure that out right now. After the feedback Ive gotten so far I am leaning towards sticking with a VN and try to find a good midway between quantity vs quality. I already have quite a lot of story written out and I would have to cut a lot of it out if I were to switch to Sandbox.

4) I know there was not fourth question but I wanted to give some feedback on the game.
I agree on the slower start. I will admit that initially, I hadn't planned on it becoming a full on, longer story. I actually wanted to make a short, quick to the point game. But as I was writing more and more, the start now feels rushed indeed.

there are a few things you might need to have prioritized before anythng else. I strongly believe that at the top of your list of priorities should be wether you want this to be a job or a hobby.
then you move from there

it is true, you could just go ahead and create something you have in your mind and see how it goes, but the problem with that is that it is time consuming, especially for a single dev.

that is why it all depends how you will aproach this task. Work that brings money, or simple hobby to fill your time and have no worry if it will succeed or not.

I am pretty much on the same boat game creation wise. thankfully I work with a friend of mine, but its still a hard task when you have to juggle with your everyday activities.

I'm not grumpy, I'm just coded that way.

It makes me feel extremely overwhelmed knowing how much time it would take to make edited screencaps for the story that I have in mind.
Going for the sandbox-like route will perhaps make you feel less overwhelmed, but it will not lead to less works. But in the end, it's before anything else a question of practice.
I slowly learn to use Daz Studio, and while I don't really have much time to do it, what sometimes lead to months without opening it. Yet I can clearly see that I'm adapting and finding my marks, doing things faster now that when I started. By example, I don't like the default pose and made my own one for my test. I needed more than half a hour for this, and now I can pose a figure in less than 5 minutes ; yet I'm probably too perfectionist, especially for the poor results I still get.

And I'm sure that most dev, whatever it they use Daz Studio, Blender or and Illusion studio, would tell you the same. It's a whole new workflow, it just need time.
Time to memorize how and where each action is done, for it to become instinctive. Time for your brain to fully register what action lead to what result, for it to come faster to the process you've to pass through to reach the result you want. Time also to learn two new skills, "posing a 3D figure" and "composing a 3D scene".
It's like illustrators. They aren't born with that ability to compose their drawing. It's something they learned through time and practice. If at some point they can draw a complex scene without having to think about it's composition, it's because they spent hours looking at the paper sheet, and trashed thousand of sketches, until their brain learned how to do this naturally.

And the same goes for the story progression and its coding. Two others new skills that you are learning, and two others tasks that you'll do faster and faster with the time going.
So perhaps that, instead of switching to a sandbox-like approach, what you need is just more time to adapt to the tools you are using and that new workflow.

The idea I got in mind now is that you play through the VN part, read the story with perhaps a choice or 2.
Then into sandbox in which you can choose which stats to raise, and then, when you reach a certain amount of points on one of the stats, that it then goes to the VN linked to that stat.
So, as I hinted previously, the same amount of story, but with more code, and a more complex one, and with also more CGs.

I think that you choose the sandbox-like approach by using a player point of view. It's basic to witness and to play, so it seemed to you that it would also be easier to do. But it will not be the case.
Like you have a strong idea about your story, and are more interested by its none-con part, you should instead goes for a pure Kinetic Novel. It's less CGs than for an interactive VN, and even more than for a sandbox-like, and it's also less code, and an easier one.
And the time you finish it, you would have learned everything you need, and could do something way more interactive and complex, and do it in less time.

Hi, I like your game so far. Not a bad start. Interesting Visuals and ideas. There is always a need for new ideas.

I am working on doing my own games myself. I am starting with redoing abandoned games that I like, sorta. There was a community built around one of the games that I liked and they have started doing mods and such for it.

I am creating my own variant for that game. Not sure if you know DSCS (Defective Sexbot Chop Shop). I guy is working on a variant called SR24. I am working on one I might call "Bots on a Farm".

I saw that you might be looking for help with your development. I am always looking for projects where I might fit in. I am currently unemployed and living in Germany. I am a little older than you (50s). Anyways, let me know if you are interested in Colabs or such. I have been learning Ren'Py, DAZ3D, GIMP, and Blender. I have been working on a Linux box with makes everything a bit more interesting.

How much interest is there for female pov nsfw games with tags such as incest, rape, stalking, monster fucking, free/public use, etc.?
I mean if you have all that people will be interested. Throw in an in game pregnancy system and there will be people for that. I think the things that help the most is communication with the community and the art.

I spent some time going through all the advise and taking a good look at my idea vs my capabilities. And I've made my decision. I feel confident now in my vision and have written out a new roadmap for myself.
Thank you all for your input, I really appreciate it and it really helped me figure out how to proceed :D
Aside from that, I've also taken a look at the visuals and how I could improve on those with the advise given on that aspect.
I am not yet 100% happy with the new result, but I do feel a lot better about this new look.
Will continue practicing and looking up more tips for the next few days.

Yeah, I'd love to play more fem pov nsfw games. As is, some themes are far to under-populated. Like, for example, where a girl can build a harem of male love interests.

I don't quite agree with you. To me, it sounds too much like the so-manieth game where fems just get endlessly violated.

I play lewd/nsfw games for a long time now, and the games that you describe come with thirteen per dozen. Add the excessively large asses and tits, and it'd be 15 per dozen.

It would be sooo refreshing to play different type of game from that. Like a girl who loves to do exhibitionism, perhaps being a naked waitress somewhere, or where she can build a harem of male love interests, or just enjoys teasing and having sex. Or where a fem protagonist dominates males.

Even bestiality and piss play/consumption would be good for me. For me, the key conditions are: "consensual" and "the fem (too) must have fun".

The game I'm currently working on I think is still pretty 'stereo-typical'. Girl gets corrupted and sexually assaulted by her brothers/dad. I think the major difference is that (from my experience) most of these content games are from the males perspective, brother/dad/uncle, whereas this one is from the girls perspective.

As for your ideas, a lot of those are already on my list of future games that I would like to make :D
PS. I'm not a fan either of the oversized ass and tits, not planning on putting those in my games
