VN - Ren'Py - Completed - New Earth [Ch.2 Final] [MiZtyl]

2/5 - Bad game; Did get me off
~ 2 hours long (as of Ch 1 v0.12)

Gameplay consists of making choices, but besides a few bad end choices, the only thing your choices affect is who gets the girl - you or your rival. There are 4 girls to fight over. However, the fight isn't really fair - as soon as your rival starts banging a girl, you have pretty much zero chance of stealing her from him. If you lose all the girls (which you'd have to do deliberately), you get railroaded into a kinetic novel.
This is because there is a huge lack of choice regarding the main storyline. You are the leader of your group, yet you never get to decide what they should do. This is made more frustrating because your character lacks initiative to do pretty much anything. Although the walkthrough suggests there are 3 types of government you can form, in reality you don't get to make any decisions about your colony at all. There is a point toward the end of chapter 1 where a big deal is made out of who will be the next leader, but you, the player, don't really care because the leader doesn't get to lead anyway.
Porn scenes consist of 1-4 animations and 5-15 clicks of descriptions. Although the animations are fluid and hi-res, they feel robotic and lifeless. Same thing can be said about all of the porn, and even the whole game altogether. I did not feel any emotions, which, for an ntr game, is a huge minus.

To summarize, not only does the game have huge narrative and gameplay issues, it is missing that spark of passion and inspiration which drives most other porn games. I know that sounds corny, but you'll know what I mean if you play the game.

- Writing is below average. As other reviews have mentioned, most characters have 2d personalities.
- To give an example on the lack of choice - towards the end of chapter 1 a girl warns you not to sleep on your pillow. Then at night, your character sleeps on his pillow. No choice, no reason, not even a "hmm... I'm so tired I'll sleep on my pillow anyway."
- To give an example on the poor writing - Rival: "I challenge you to fight me!" You: "I refuse." Rival: "Oh yeah? BOOM!" Slut: "Wow, you knocked out a man who didn't defend himself. You're so strong, let me blow you!"

I think I stumbled across this one looking for sharing/swapping/multiple pen content. I'm not big on space as a story concept, but this game actually turns more into a mystery than a hard sci-fi tale with a bunch of vaguely human aliens running all over the place. I actually found myself getting very intrigued with the direction the story is taking and am curious to see where it goes next. I've seen this in a couple other games recently, but there have been attempts to integrate the pandemic or a pandemic-like situation into the narrative, which I think is pretty cool (though will most likely heavily date the game once finished).

Positives:
+ Several different paths that offer a wide variety of content for everyone (hooray for sharing!)
+ Rather intriguing story
+ No grind!


Negatives:
- Dialog writing is on the weak side
- Related to the above, but none of the characters really stand out as people, but more as simple caricatures, so your satisfaction will probably come more from your enjoyment of the renders and situations rather than finding a best girl

Another thing that I found really cool is that this is a crossover with My Future Wife and a couple other games. Apparently, this is something these creators do and that's just neat. Honestly, I'm mainly more into the story at this point than the content (though I'm looking forward to sharing Priscilla).

Note to devs: Neat storytelling. If possible, find someone to help you punch up the characterizations and writing and that will go a long way towards your players becoming more invested.

Decent game overall

Played the NTR route

Renders and animation are pretty average but nothing offensive

Not mind-blowing but it has a lot of potential in the setting for corruption and the like and MC's girlfriend has some good cheating scenes.

What can I say.
First and foremost It will probably appeal to NTR lovers. As one of those that hoped for tyrany route to be a proper powerfantasy, on the other hand, I feel dissapointed. If you are going in this hoping to avoid NTR, dont bother.
Anyway, I wont rate the game on sexual preferences since its subjective, just wanted to make clear that people that cant stand being on a reciving end of NRT will have a bad time no matter what choices you made. Just because the game promises Tyrany route doesnt mean that you can avoid what is probably prime fetish of the game.

That aside:
Visuals and smut are almoust good, so, 4/5.

Story is kinda meh, with all of your prime male opposition aside from the bull that suppose to cuck you out of pure harem route feeling like static dummies. Amongst females the only one with some semblance of complexity is the scheeming redhead. 2/5.

Gameplay has something of a primitive grind with you chosing to go to Gym, but so far Im yet to see result of said grind for at least one playtrough style that was advertized (tyrany route). So, the only massive positive of it is that its not invasive and you dont have to waste time on something that is yet to be implemented.
4/5 or not making grind annoing. Would have honestly given 5 if the entire option was skipped unitl fully implemented. But ok.

Finally, music addition like ma-ha ma-ha ma-hump or something along the lines during sex scenes is something that I will condem with absolute prejustice. Its just tosses you out from fapping and into full on striking an off sound button with a sledgehammer. 1/5! And F anyone who inserts such bonerkillers in their games

3/5 in total, and that being generous.

It's got a good concept but the execution is very mediocre. This is mostly because the characters stick to those typical conservative morals you see often in porn games, which really doesn't fit the theme that's laid out here. With the sex scenes also severely lacking in imagination there's a lot left to be desired. Still a decently fun playthrough if you don't think about it too much. The girls are pretty and you can customise your experience a little which is always appreciated.

The story could use a lot of polishing.
The FL is rather annoying and a tease.
Was just boring overall. I might try the other games by the dev as they seem to have more work put in.

And I don't have much more to write about. This last bit is just filler to meet the minimum character count. I went down the alpha male path like I imagine most here did. At times seems more like a simping male path whenever the FL is involved. She gives too much BS and the "alpha" mc just takes it.

I have only explored harem route so I can not comment on the sharing fetishes in this review. Harem route has a lot of content just download the walkthrough mod for a smooth experience.

With that out of the way I must say I'm impressed. The story is easily the best part of the experience. It's nothing groundbreaking but it holds your attention and it doesn't feel like a chore to go through the story. There's some weight behind the sci fi tag, it's not just an excuse to put together some scenes and fetishes. There are decent animations. No errors in my playthrough and no bad English.

One problem is very little build up and cool down around the scenes. The crossover thing was interesting but could be handled better to give players a clearer idea.

5 stars because of the story and because it's current average rating is lower than it should be.

It felt like robot overseer made certain you had sex with certain people, I mean you can't go do other things? I found that odd. I was annoyed I thinking what? Jealousy was strange to witness, Why was there competition? if your going have robot manage flow of dna in first place?

Seemed odd that only women were allowed to do certain things and men were screwed I mean what heck men don't take baths in springs? I was huh? In Japan is only country I know they so no baths are important but here in this game it feels kind odd.

If the planet is gone okay men will want to find someplace warm and same thing dive off into pool and go yes another earth. Women wouldn't be only people needed a skinny dip place.

dna selection should been different? Avatar selection and choosing your gender or gential organs would been perk.

Justin NPC I noted stated you could probably make everyone harem but does that mean Justin and other male characters could be modified? or suspended until you felt need include them? There no optional choices for that or modifying the personality for fem-computer.

I usually like to give good ratings but in this instance the average rating describes the game up to now. Mediocre.

Graphics are very average and it's the same scenery over and over, just like the repetitive day cycles. Planet looks sparse.

The story is pretty dull and feels drawn out and bare bones. Characters have no real depth and their relationships are not very realistic. The girlfriend of the MC just comes across as a shallow bitch who wants to be dominated by some Alpha male but tries to cock block the MC. There is very little romance or feeling in their interactions.

It's just dull. I don't know how the dev will draw this story out for long on the sparse, limited locations and same shit every day with slight changes.

Adding dangerous wildlife or lifeforms/raiders to the planet would at least add some excitement/danger but nope, same shit, different day.

Not the worst out there but nothing makes me look forward to the short updates.

Average marks for an average VN. Could be much better.

I gave NEW EARTH a try for the first time and I was able to enjoy it to some degree.

The story really isn’t ground breakingly new, (humanity is going extinct, the mc’s task as (elected) captain of a spaceship is to colonize a new habitable planet), but interesting enough for me. There are even some plot twists about the true intentions of the ship’s AI, but I’m not going to spoiler. Anyway the story is solid for a science-fiction VN, but nothing new.

I’m clearly not in it for the NTR, because this definitively isn’t my kink (I don’t enjoy playing a mc being cuckoled at all), but in it for the future pregnancy content and harem route. As tastes and kinks are different, the dev provided different routes like harem, swinger and being cuckoled, which is a good thing. I wouldn’t have touched this game if it was NTR mainly. Therefore I appreciate the effort of offering different main approaches to this game.

Anyway choices aren’t many so far, the game feels somewhat like on rails. There are frequent choices between the main routes of the game, though, which are alpha male, swinger as middle ground and beta male route. But not all of these decisions are actually reasonable or thought-through and there are no decisions at all within one of those main routes.

F.e. why would an “alpha male” not take a quick look at Delilah’s tits in order to check her out, when his preset girlfriend Veronica is present, who by the way acts like a prude for most parts of the game? I think it would be more alpha to show her, that there is some competition for her, too not only for the mc and that some other girl might take her place as mc’s gf, if she doesn’t get off her ass soon enough.
The mc's gf Veronica is more the reluctant, shy type, which wants to be seduced, and I really don’t suggest that all girls should instantly and willingly jump on the mc’s cock. That would be boring. But Veronica got on my nerves. I wished for more choices, like the ability to choose the mc's gf instead of having a preset prude playing games or being able to do more nasty things in order to sabotage your male competitors or to interact with the cast in different ways. Veronica f.e. is teasing the mc constantly, but leaves him unsatisfied several times, while she even interrupts/prevents the player from having hot scenes with some other girls, who are more willing and no less sexy. Seriously, which alpha would play Veronica’s immature games, instead of just saying: “fuck this shit, I’m going to have some real fun with someone more willing.” Options to make your gf jealous and such are clearly missing.

The game also lacks intrigues and schemes against your male competitors to sway the girls to your side. Since the harem route is even called “tyrant” route in this game, I’m missing options, which would actually fit to a tyrannical behavior. Right now the harem/tyrant route is neither fish nor fowl in my opinion...
As I wrote above, this game feels like on tracks and choices are little and only influence the main routes between harem, middle-ground and cuckold.

Next problem are some unlucky scene design decisions. Do you really want to see one of your competitors masturbating, while your mc is engaged in a hot ffm threesome? WTF! Such unnecessary distractions really spoil otherwise hot scenes...

So far for the constructive criticism. There are also some positive aspects noteworthy, but I'll keep it short, because this review is already long enough. The renders are ok, the cast of the girls is sexy, the variation of different girls is adequate (there could be more women in the cast than just these 4. though). Least but not last the animations are quite simplified. Personally I can live with this, but maybe the dev is able to improve on his skills to do better animations in the future.

Altogether the average rating is well-deserved. If PREGNANCY ISN'T GOING TO HAPPEN I'll substract one star from this rating, making it an overall poor VN in my eyes. Because a planet colonization VN would just be silly without pregnancy in the game actually!

I appreciate the effort to have several different story paths, but the execution here is not very good.

- The space ship's exterior representation doesn't support it's interior dimensions. It's like the Dr. Who phone booth - larger on the inside than on the outside. Stupid choice of assets.

- I bailed on this when the MC goes to the entertainment room and starts groping his supposed girl friend when she's drunk. Really?
That's just shitty writing.

- While this is written in somewhat decent English, it's also obvious that the writer isn't a native English speaker, nor does he employ someone to fix his grammar.
There is no such thing as "the Earth". It's "Earth", just that.
Same as in "Space, the final frontier" and not "The space, the final frontier". There's just one Earth, so address it as just that. Shit like that a native English speaker would know about.

Bottom line - the dev seems to have taken way too big of a bite to handle this.
Appreciate the effort, but you're not there yet. Try frying smaller fish for now.

Big Ntr fan. This games pacing and characters are top notch. The anticipation to the reveal really got me in particular. Character development is well rounded and you get a feel for each one really quickly. Fantastic work!! 10/10

I really enjoyed my time with New Earth, the story really keeps you engaged! I am not an NTR kind of guy, so I'm happy that there are 3 routes for the MC to go down. I'm just excited to see how this game evolves!

Let me start off with the art. The quality and time put in really shows. It isn't the best I've seen, but it's top quality and this alone can make it enjoyable to download. You get to explore the planet, the ship, and some beautiful characters.

Story 5/5
The author really knows what narrative he wants to create here. The MC leads the way to colonizing a new Earth planet, but he has rivals after his position and women. It doesn't shy away from making the MC aware of what's going on, and gives you the opportunity to fight it or become complacent.

Sex Scenes 5/5
Simple Summary? The sex scenes rock. They include multiple girls in a variety of scenarios and positions. It doesn't take a long time to develop these and you get plenty of good content.

Updates are pretty frequent compared to some other games here and they add plenty of content for you to enjoy. They don't take overly long to develop sex scenes and move things along in the direction you choose.

All in all, I absolutely recommend lol.

This games MAJOR flaw is writing. By writing I don't mean spelling or syntax but expressing ideas. Things do not make sense. The author says the plot and more will be expanded upon but the beginning is completely nonsensical. I do not know how you fix a bad beginning without rewriting the beginning. I could go into detail but it would bloat the review into being very long.

Personality of characters are 100% tropes and don't feel like actual individuals. Jacob is obviously going to be the overly aggressive black man that will take your girl in the NTR route. Asian boy is weak and submissive... more stereotypes. Women are written as fuck dolls and don't have personalities. I think I made my point. Every character is shallow.

Images... the pictures are pretty good quality but there feels like there are very few of them. Most games have many images shifting and rotating to show expression and though to what is going on in a scene. This games has one or two images basically showing who is in a scene and letting the writing do the rest, but sadly the writing isn't strong enough.

Animations are meh. They are smooth which is GOOD, but 90% of the scene is static. So in a hand job only the hand is moving and the women is off screen. The result is that they look artificial. One of the two sex partners is always inanimate, which is disappointing. So they are pretty much unimpressive overall. Games best feature is only not bad...

Great concept but lacks the skill for proper execution. Maybe it will get better as the creator skill increases through practice... We can only hope.

In general i do like the plot of this game. I do like the graphic and the characters. I do like the idea to make different paths, which gives the player possibilities to develop the story like he want. I do not like so much, that the story is pretty short. The characters could be much better introduced and developed. The relationship of the characters with the MC and between each other should be more realisitic and lesser accidental. Maybe in future updates this can be changed. Anyway I do enjoy this game and can give 4 of 5 stars. Hope to see more updates soon...

Art's middling; character models are nice for the most part, but the backgrounds are sparse and clumsy-looking.

Writing is functional; scenario's been done, voice is weak, characterization is rote and archetypal. Does hint at good gameplay but I worry its reach is overbroad. Story logic is a bit hosed; the MC seems like a nonentity like a sandbox where the player is supposed to project themselves into the role, but there're very minimal choices at the moment.

Porn is lacking. NTR Dude is too dudebro to take seriously and thus that path has no tension. Current content is too brief to get much use out of the harem/dogpile/monogamous dilemma.

The silent slideshow presented at the end of each day and whenever the character is navigating the ship is repetitive, annoying, and wastes time. After about the second time of it I started over-relying on the Ren'Py skip dialog button.

TLDR: It's an early project in an early project state.

A good game so far.
The story is short but more than ok. I don't neew hours of backstory.

The girls are decent/nice. Although only the mc's girlfried is really hot.

Most props for the choice between harem/sharing/NTR path. I like all three things and i'm really curios how things evolve.
Keep it up, the game is on my watchlist!
