- When she’s done playing, the game will check if she has at least 50 “Influence”. If so, shewill win that battle and have her accumulated “Work” added to her glory. Meaning that she managed to get the better of you that day and hog the spotlight.
She's currently got 200 influence and shows no sign of stopping. Is this the intended behavior, anyone?

[edit]

Or is it like the in-game help that I just accidentally brought up, and she has to get mine to zero?

[edit]

Looks like that was it. Note to self - do not try and gather influence - it just prolongs the agony

At the beginning this is true. You want to get drained of it as quickly as you can. Midgame is all about gathering as much energy, money, blackmail as you can while using your influence to buy you the time you need to do it and keeping her glory gain minimal. And waaaaayyyy into it you can start trying to win the day and build your glory all the while continuing to do the daily resource grind as per midgame.

Cool, I can work with that.

Is there a list somewhere of what the blackmail objectives do? That's assuming they're not just there as porn triggers.

The blackmail you can do when going to her place (and eventually her daughter's) is to weaken her special cards. The card is shown at the top with the events in a column under it. Every few events weakens the relevant card. Don't go there until last since it ends your free roam for the night.

The bottom 3 rows are in the blackmail events are supposed to not be accessible right? I assume it's just b/c the game's not done not that I failed to unlock it.

I think that one is locked until you get an event at the education sector. Basically you have to meet Cassandra's daughter and pay her a visit, and then you can raise the subject with her mum.

Then the option goes back to "???" and can't be selected again. I haven't found the next unlock condition.

Has the creator stated their desired finish date for the game? I love their games and do not want to spoil the experience

This game is really shaping up to be excellent. I think the hardest hump to get over into enjoying it is realizing that there's just no way you can win the card game until *very* late in the game (realistically, you won't be able to consistently win at the limit of the current build's progression). It's about losing in a way that keeps Cassandra from gaining too much Glory, while giving you plenty of Work to convert for use on the map.
I'm beating her consistently at tier 4, it might be possible with no downgrades at all. You've gotta think more like Garrick, don't spend all your time working like a shmuck.

Very curious to see how you could win with no downgrades, or even easily enough at Tier 4 that you would even think it's possible!

First I got max energy at gym, then upgraded allies. You can win without allies but they really help get things rolling. Here's the cards I've currently got (other combinations are definitely possible):
4x work ethic, money hoarding
3x check your options, work hard, rest
1x information gathering, stick in the wheels, influence collecting

With this you can slowly win. If you swap a work ethic out for another stick in the wheels, you'll win much faster, but slowly drain your blackmail. Either way, the strategy is to keep all your resources high (particularly energy), and cancel her cards whenever it's safe (except for the "spend 2 cards" one, and the one that gives her work). Discard 3 is a hard choice. It's also good to get some work before the battle, so you don't waste any rest cards. Check your options can be gamed a little, if you think about which cards are in your draw pile. Your influence is the least valuable resource.

I hadn't upgraded it at first. Maybe you don't need the influence collecting card.

Edit: yeah you can beat her without even going to her house. Similar cards to above, just remove influence gathering & stick in the wheels, and add generous & another work ethic. It wouldn't give me the option to buy stick in the wheels yet for some reason. Upgraded allies & energy but not influence.

Are some of the cards bugged?

Got appearance down to Trashy Appearance but I still need to tap 2 allies instead of the 1 it claims should only need now.

Also bought a couple of copies of Rumors and the other sexual cards (and fully upgraded them), but Rumors++ (have honestly not tested the base Rumors card) doesn't seem to ever lower her influence?

Am using an old save so if no one else has seen these bugs can try just switching to a new save file.
