I feel like such an ingrate, cuz it's a new update, which sometimes take months to come out... But I am just not interested in Guren at all, don't care too much about that ghost story route (what's the point?) so that just leaves me with Hazel.
It's kind of funny, I'm playing all routes in Giant Guardians, even the psycho girls (because they do start turning around a bit) but even before then, somehow, they're more morally palatable to me than Katya and Guren; I'll explain.
Nezumicon takes place in a contemporary world with contemporary morals, those being that generally, killing is bad mkay? Now Guren, I know she's a goddess of sorts so you could argue she's exempt from the contemporary morals, but at the same time, she's just full-on evil- yeah I'm sure there'll be some backstory to her that'll explain it, but a full-on torture dungeon? Broad's cracked.
Katya however, even when you're on her approval path, the amount of times she threatens to just flat-out murder you- and it *doesn't* come off as a joke either- really made me go "you know what? Fuck this bitch". She may not be blood but she definitely takes after Clarice's mother, whom is another can of worms.
In GG you've got killer cunts too of course, but the fantasy setting lends itself to looser morals- wars and conflicts are part and parcel to day to day life- and it used to be *worse*. But in Nezumicon, there's society, modern inventions and morality, and also the "giants" (because there are males too) aren't some abnormality, they're just people, and then the "tinies" are just people as well, but small. There's just no excuse of "divine right to kill people cuz I'm bigger than them" in a peaceful society, but then you've got wretched fucking bitches like Katya just casually threatening to ice you over inane bullshit.
Which is some people's thing, so go off, but man she chaps my ass (clearly).
Nezumi's world is not really civilized or anything, it's just segregated: tinies live in their own place while giants have their own. Sure there's a feeling of "wrongness" when ti comes to eating/killing tinies, but it's mostly a guideline at best. Also, Katya only "threatens" the MC if he's acting like a horny idiot, if you behave properly she doesn't really say anything that bad.
Yeah if anything her preference seems to be a submissive bottom who follows orders while still having enough control to do house work.
It... Is civilized? Where are you getting the impression it's not? It's a contemporary setting with zero (thus far at least) indications that it's lacking in contemporary morals- and it's only segregated for size for safety's sake for the tinies- tinies *can* visit, in the dog girl's route she says as much when you visit with her to a mixed size clothing store. There's also no mention of bigs going to the tiny nation(?) and just stomping it up and then being dismissed by the queen of the continent as just "well it's lawless so sucks to suck lmao call me out and I'll kill you".
As for Katya's route, I dropped it a bit ago so I'm not up to date on her route, but when last I played I remember throwing in just one little jest, it was pretty minor, and she just immediately went to "how about I crush you until your amulet runs out and you wind up a red stain on my socks" while she was stepping on him with enough pressure to activate the necklace. I did my best to explain why so I wont repeat myself, but somehow it felt *more* psychotic than anything from GG.
It's true that is kind of similar, but GG is in a Medieval world and Nezumicon is in a modern like world so is different the condions of live.
I'm not sure, but it sounds like you're agreeing with what I'm saying but you think you're arguing it. I will say yes, things being better, better medicine, better food distribution/supply, better housing, etc- having needs met makes it easier to be a better person, and in Nezumicon those needs are better met by virtue of being a more advanced society- benefits of a contemporary setting.
OK I'm glad I ended up DLing the latest chapter- didn't touch Guren, but Hazel's was real nice, and the ghost story's was cute as well, just too bad we wont see an update for that one for another year.
The fact that the one that has to watch his footing as a tiny to not get stomped, and that there are no safety measures to protect them in place (Timfalme from medieval ages literally had that). You can say it's developed, but there's clearly plenty of cultural oddities that make it a bit sus. Again, we don't know enough about the world so I can't say for sure, something just strikes me as regressive that the societies are segregated rather than being together (clearly giants can benefit from tinies and vice versa) like in Timfalme or hell any country in GG.
I mean... bantering at your boss during an interview sounds like a terrible idea to start off the relationship. She's a serious person, so it only makes sense she appreciates hardwork and seriousness. Also from what I've seen most of the "jokes" you can make in her route are sexual/crude in general, not my cup of tea.
You know what happened in GG when they tried creating a place for normals only? It got destroyed by one sadistic giantess who genocided the entire kingdom, minus the king and queen (who were sold off as slaves)
The reason there aren't safety measures for tinies in Nezumicon is because they have their own lands/cities/countries where normals can't go- and since it's been stated that tinies have all the same amenities that normals do (videogames, phones, etc) literally what is the point of going to the land where everyone and everything is bigger than you and is a danger (unless you're on the run from something, like Cesar is. Or it's your fetish, obviously.)
As for Katya, I do consider that a weakness of the 2-response system, there's no middle ground- my own internal monologue would have dry sarcastic responses, like when she forcibly jerks you off in the guise of "training" you, I would have liked an option that said something along the lines of "So do you rape all of your new hires, or am I the exception?" And later when she hides you in her mouth from Genveve, something like "That was *really* the first hiding place that came to mind?"
But instead you can only be pitifully passive or stupidly aggressive in your responses. Still doesn't justify her homicidal tendencies though.
