This game has been in backburner development ever since the dev finished their last project in... checks with increasing existential dread of the passing of time... 2019. Whatever work and updates was done in that time was sporadic, it's anyone's guess when this one will get finished.

That's not true, while an SFW version of Lewdest Labyrinth was created, it was never meant as a replacement for the R18 version. The store pages were taken down but download links still exist. I guarantee the mega link on ULMF is legit as it's the same one I saw on mminit's (now abandoned) blogspot; I haven't checked the links on the thread here for LL. The only removed content from LL was the game over cutscenes for non-boss enemies.
Nothing's been removed from Night Labyrinths. It's just that not every enemy CG is gonna be hardcore sex. If that's what you want though, you're welcome to voice that opinion. The v1 update deliberately included more sex as a response, though we can't expect the dev to bend to our requests every time. Just be sure to support the dev if you can afford it.
Oh and I think someone mentioned this before but mminit's twitter and itch.io page are the currently maintained sources of information.

the only thing I want to see as an option for this game is the option to go both topless and in risky panties. go for the OG lewd option of the old game.

Pretty sure I got it LL from here, but an earlier version there was ALOT more lewd stuff in it before it seemed to get cut. And Its not hardcore Im really after. Id prefer no real hardcore stuff

Extremely fun demo, I am excited for this sequel to one of my favourite games, Lewdest Labyritnh!
Lewdest labyrinth was one of my favorites when it came out, I recognized the art style immediately. Not expecting this to get finished, but still hoping it does.

Why are you not expecting this to get finished when the game's not dead? The dev showed more game content last month.
is there any way to save progress and level or is it one of those games were you lose all progress on defeat or escape?

It's supposed to be roguelite, so you lose your levels, skills and items after each run. If you reach the exit, you get to keep your equipped items at least, and the next level is unlocked. Each run you can gain more stats by exploring a set # of tiles. You can find items that unlock upgrades in the shop, you can buy these for even more stats between runs using the cash you've obtained.
