Tried this out for a bit... and god damn, I couldn't even get through the tutorial - it was that bad.
- Unskippable tutorial: Why yes, sitting through a five minute long, unskippable tutorial in a small, enclosed area with almost nothing to interact with and some rando off Fiverr slowly explaining how to play the game like I'm a particularly slow child is exactly how I want to start out my NSFW horror experience. I wonder why more games don't do this...? Oh, right, because it's maddeningly boring. Not to mention that there's already a "Game Guide" in the main menu - why's there even a tutorial in the first place?
- Unintuitive, frustrating controls: Maybe I'm the odd one out here, but... who, exactly, uses 'C' for crouch? And why is F to interact, in a game with a flashlight?? And left-click is the flashlight button??? An easy fix to all this would be letting the player change the controls, but nope, not an option. But even if it were possible, the game is centered around this shitty physics-based grabbing mechanic, but most objects on the floor are just barely out of grabbing range when standing... why?
- Tedious tasks: No, individually dragging three whole-ass chairs across the entire fucking map to complete ONE of three tasks is, in fact, not fun. Can't even imagine how unfun this'd be with a time limit and an animatronic crocodile breathing down your neck the whole time...
All that, AND I end up spending like 10 minutes working out some vague clue about the location of login details for a terminal, only for it to not work. Even after double, triple and quadruple-checking that I've got the password right and checking for alternative spellings it could've been, I never got it right. Handwritten notes and puzzles is a crackship that needs to fucking die.
Adding to that, having read some comments and learning about the devs' track record... yeah, I'm not holding my breath for this one.
