Seeking Non VN mechanics for unlocking scenes and completing quests

Hey, so I was wondering if anyone knows of any games or even has any ideas for game mechanics that are not just grindy repetitive things to unlock the sex scenes etc

VN can get a bit just repetitive clicking and I've seen games that don't do VN still just have repetitive boring mechanics so wanted to know if anyone knows any good ones

In Vae Victis - Khan you manage an empire. It has strong Sandbox elements (which you can skip) but even during the infiltration quests, there's no grind.
