Bala AI has been taken down. I tried most of the bots listed here and it was the best. Based on ad content vs. actual usage, memory and variety of bots. So of course it gets removed.
What does Soulkyn offer than SillyTavern and a local hosted model doesn't for the $? I tend to veer away from services that aren't crystal clear on pricing.

Does Soulkyn has good memory retainment?
I'm very impressed janitor so far but it often forgot the key story points after a long session
Also it tends to converge into specific personality once you mess around with them (all the dom related character sounds the same, even if the circumstances were different)
From my experience, I couldn't get the complexity of JanitorAI even with 22GB big local model + SillyTavern. The difference shows quite soon when you try to emulate multiple characters at once.

One big thing is the image generation is amazing imo. Including the in chat image generation. I recommend you go to the Discord if you feel wary about the pricing. Many happy users on there.
The character is as good as the effort put into creating it. You can use instructions and settings to improve the less effort characters as well though.
You may be talking about the freemium model (which I can't comment on as have never used it) or are talking to low effort characters. A character is as good as the effort put in. If you give me an example of what you mean when you say low RP quality and what you consider good, then I assure you Soulkyn can emulate similar as it's flexible.

Here's a screenshot of Soulkyn settings that can drastically improve RP quality with even low effort characters. I believe the bottom two aren't available to freemium. This on top of instructions you can type in chat can make roleplay extremely elaborate. I recommend people go on the discord where people even more knowledgeable than me are.

Yes I was using the free version. I like the picturing inside a chat, great feature, though again in my case it didn’t even get my gender right so I kinda stopped using it. Spicy seems to be the best free web option right now.
There's a way to get your gender right in chat images. I can let you know if you still care.
You're a woman right? A female user on the discord shared this screenshot with me when I mentioned your opinion on the RP to her as she's a big fan of Soulkyn even after using others. We don't specifically know what you mean by low quality RP though so this may not be what you mean.

Yes, I mean it could've just been the characters I picked, I only tried 2 or 3, and also tried creating my own from a simple prompt that it generated a whole profile and tags for. I'm sure the extra features in the paid version make things a lot better but I use these just for some fun when I'm bored so it's no big deal, I'm just more used to Spicy I guess and it seems like there I can usually find a character for pretty much any kind of scenario or kink.

No need to apologise. Pretty sure it's just the bottom 2 that are premium. Not sure how familiar you are with Soulkyn but these settings are for chat profiles so you can check there. I can't make another account to check myself.
