I think that NTR as a whole will get ass-blasted into oblivion on Itch.io with these rules in place, for people who know nothing about NTR, and because of how vague the genre most of the time is (and to be fair because most of these things can be found in NTR games usually), any of these could be reasons why a game with NTR in it would be breaking Itch.io's rules:

Regardless of the rest of the post.
i was like "oh it's alright, atleast indie games are there"
yadda yadda "Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak for me."

Stop buying from them. Boycott such companies. Vote with your wallet. See how they feel when their revenues tank.
As I said in another thread, blame the payment processors, because ultimately any company is beholden to those. I think the americans had some law on the works regarding this specific practice, but I'm no american, so I couldn't be sure of that.

You're saying this like you believe they are doing it willingly. They already know they're going to get rekt and lose most of their revenues. But what can you do against Visa and Mastercard? If even Steam is bowing to them, nobody will stand up to them.

In China, Japan, and much of Southeast Asia, QRIS and other QR-based payment systems are becoming the norm. It's gotten to the point where even Visa and Mastercard have called QRIS "unfair." LMAO.

It's just Russia, and Russia doesn't have that yet and has its own card. Except for LGBT.

On Itch.Io's FAQ page this is what's under the "Is adult content allowed" question as of yesterday.

The phrasing of this seems interesting. In the beginning of the section they mention that they do not allow the HOSTING of certain questionable content which is fair and makes sense and was there for a long time.

This specific list howevere mentions that they can not support SELLING products with this content.

Does this meen that the site would host such content if it were free (thus not sold) ?

It's intentionally written to be as open ended and up to interpretation as possible. They won't elaborate.

Itch doesn't want to do anything of this shit, but don't really have a choice in the matter. It's written this way to allow them to let shit slip through the cracks while also giving them the right to Thanos snap anything they need to.

It'll be awhile before an understanding of what is and isn't ok, forms.

I don't think it has a search system? I think it caters a lot to the russian market. While it has global payment options, I don't think it'd serve as anything other than a backup site, sadly.

So what’s generally the best tool to translate VNs these days? Asking because I want to translate Sora no Iro Mizu no Iro .

It starts off as a typical summer romance but goes hard into swinging with sprinkles of NTR. Has multiple routes and everything, so I’m surprised it’s been like two decades and nobody ever bothered to at least MTL it.
depends on engine, luna translator/sugoi might be the most general approach for jap VNs
