Frankly I also think its the toll of the time and we are all to blame. We have so many distractors, that actually honing your craft and working to "work", is becoming "cringe". Everyone just works to get money so they can spend it and their free time on one of the billion activities available. Least work for the most money, so I can go watch my tiktoks on a vacation.

Like just taking this site for example I see many devs working on passion projects and I don't think anyone's calling them cringe and whatnot... I think something you're looking over is that right now the economy and overall state of society in 1st world countries is ultra bad to put it in simple terms. If people are barely making ends meet they have less time, energy, resources, etc to spend on hobbies and stuff... I see your point about certain people just looking to scam and stuff and that is definitely on the rise also. But how I see it is those people wouldn't be artists or something if they weren't scamming

I think there's just more work and pitfalls involved in making NTR than say a vanilla harem game. You need good writing, good pacing in the story and the corruption, believable dialogue and setting...

What's that got to do with NTR games? Well if you don't maintain a good standard of writing/development/corruption all through your game, you could end up disappointing your customers and risking your good name and income, and hey nobody likes to have their hard work torn apart.

There's way less work and risk invoved im pumping out vanilla harem games, where the standards and expectations are far lower, and there's safer money to be made.

I am saying its the mindset, not that it actually is, so dont argue with me, you are preaching to the choir. You will always have passionate few, but that passion also usually dries up. Thats why porn games in general are becoming more derivative and low effort.

Question is would you not do the same? At the end of the day money is what pay their bills. Like i am more than happy to make a game myself as i do have a lot of time but then again i dont know shit about coding or drawing. I remember playing the initial game drop a while ago and liking it, but not liking the updates after it. I think it was the game structure that bothered me. There was a really linear Halloween update I didn't enjoy, then followed up with an update with a focus on combat I didn't like either. Rn I'm just letting updates build up so I have a good amount of content to play when I try it again.

economy has been going bad from many years ago, unnoticeable because of shrinkflation. yeah the price stayed low but the quality went down. now prices are going up and the quality is still down. people cannot afford to waste income on being "artistic" so they cannot take risks in creating new things and must do the proven money making thing. that means leaving risky endeavors like porn games and doing gacha, or doing porn games with the same tried and true moneymaking story. or even worse using AI.

by the way the less variety on doujinshi comes form FAKKU having most of the vanilla artists on their payroll, they pretty much have all the good vanilla stuff and they are also taking some of the best NTR as well, they are militant with claims so it is hard to see their content unless you specifically look for it.

and then you have to account that companies have to make money for their employees and the artists need to make money for their personal survival. and you realize that the current economic factors have turned entertainment into a risk less cookie cutter game factory. pretty much what has been happening to disney but with porn. soon we will start having remakes of porn games. i think there was a remake recently but perhaps i dreamt that I cant be sure.

I personally think that a new aristocracy has been born and something needs to be done about it. the the old kings that did not know how to govern were usually killed. as a society we have grown past that but we have not found an alternative to it. there must be a clever and more moral way to get rid of concentrated power and money. but when all CEO's can hide under a " black rock" it is very hard to dismantle that consolidated power.
