It is a male protagonist NTR game with Happy End and Bad End route, pretty straight forward. This has both mystery NTR and FMC POV. But the gameplay loop sucks.
You go around doing events date the FMC (Mikan), build the relationship while the NTRman do his thing. It has 4 parts, if at the end of 3rd part you fail to raise enough body affection, you will go in Bad End route.

The gameplay is kinda lame the first 3 parts and then get worse at the 4th part. You can at least do things in part 1, 2, 3 but part 4 is meaningless and you have to skip everything to progress. EVERY 5-part of the day. The choice defaults at the bottom too so it is really really tedious, I lost my boner here.

At part 4 + Bad End route, I think there is a bug with the last event (let me know if I'm wrong), I have to look at the game's code, find the trigger and replicate the flag on my game for it to work. But it's kind of worth it.

Yeah, gameplay wise.
Story wise, it's the first NTR game with this plot for me so I enjoyed it. Not that I focused on 100% of the plot but the general idea is fresh.

I remember author said they were going to improve the game because the demo gameplay was atrocious to play. Seems like they didn't improved it then. I won't waste my time on it then and my standards are actually pretty low when it comes to jp game ( I enjoyed Amelia for instance ) but the demo gameplay was just so fucking bad.

Have you played the demo for it, or anyone here? I see some of the comments on that saying the transition to the woman giving into ugly bastard is too fast but man, the art looks really good and hot. Hopefully the full product turns out decent

inner dialogue is one of the things that is pretty much exclusive to the written medium. you even notice how in cartoons, characters speak to themselves rather than have inner dialogue. and in movies they opt for an off voice narration.

so i say one should always take advantage of the medium and use the inner dialogue. like all the tools in VNs it is good to avoid abusing it. I would say animm is the one with the better handling of inner dialog.

Internal dialogue clearly helps you narratively. I don't really have a preference for using it or not.

That said, a picture is worth a thousand words. For example, imagine the scenario where the FMC is facing the antagonist, he takes off his clothes and exposes his dick. You could use internal dialogue and have the heroine think, "Wow, that's the biggest dick I've ever seen, yada yada."
But I think it would be more interesting to just use the render, with her shocked face, and leave the rest to the player's imagination.

I am all in for this kind of plot. It makes me remember a novel i liked where a "kirito like" MC gets isekai´d into another world leaving his girlfriend and father behind. the girlfriend asks for the fathers help and together they arrive to the isekai worl where the "Kirito like" MC has formed a platonic harem. The novel is from the father perspective about how the father starts stealing his harem by accident at the beginning and actively once he starts enjoying it. The women tend to leave the son side after being stolen but the son ends up charming more girls with his MC charm and the father tends to steal them too generating a cycle.

Oh and the son is somehow oblivious to his father actions most of the time... and whenever he catches his father usually there is a estupid explanation that prevents the son from interfering and the women has already fallen so she does not ask for help

As with all things, its best in moderation. Imo sometimes a subtle change in face can convey so much info, like heroine slightly changing her facial expression during sex, not holding her moans so much etc. can be much more impactful at telling the player shes starting to enjoy herself, rather than having an inner monologue explain it to you. Trying to read into the heroines actions, expressions etc to gauge how corrupted she is, is a lot of the fun for me in these games. If inner monologue is too descriptive, it takes that aspect away.

At the same time, I think there are parts where an inner monologue is good. It just shouldnt be overdone, because if it is, the player starts to be much more dependent on the game giving them explanations rather than them coming up with it in their head by themselves from all the clues you give them. You interact with the storytelling in a much more passive way.

I guess TLDR is show, dont tell. But sometimes tell a little

Also sometimes scenes can drag on when you add too much stuff like normal dialogue, internal dialogue, sound effects text (slurp slurp), descriptions of what they are doing etc... the text can burgeon a lot. Really feel it in Japanese eroge.
