Obviously someone else has already mentioned this but, some of the enormous smiles are really creepy, like extremely creepy. I'd even go so far as to say that even horror games often times fail to scare people as much because they rely on jump scares.
Any chance the generation algorithm could be changed a bit to not include such creepy smiles?
Nothing wrong with smiles in any of the other AI-generated images by others making similar games with AI-generated content from what I've seen.
In fact, I've even played some horror-themed adult games, yet none of them managed to (as the Chinese like to call it) wilt 'my little brother' faster than those smiles.
And this may seem somewhat excessive, but I would go so far as to say that maybe re-generating these images may be better for the game and how people view it. Apologies if it seems like I am overreaching by asking for this, as ultimately all game devs are entitled to their own creative vision and what they aim to have in a game.
Not every game is for everyone, for example if I were to be saying, don't make an NTR game, go for vanilla, then it would clearly be me trying to push my preferences onto you the creator. But given that you didn't really seem to have intended to have this game be a grisly murder mystery or horror themed game, I hope it doesn't feel like I am overreaching by suggesting that some of the fear-inducing images be reworked.
In today's day and age of instant gratification, with people's brains hooked on mobile phones, shorts, etc first/initial impacts can play a huge role on how a possible future supporter views your product. Hence why many creators often times rework their initial chapters (another aspect would also be that they've learned more).
However, if you did like the images a lot as they were, then completely disregard my opinions. These small-scale projects by indie devs are almost always passion projects, with very few of them aimed at simply generating revenue. I hope that you won't feel pressured to cater to the random masses, make changes based upon them, and simply lose all passion for future game dev endeavors, because you no longer enjoy your own work. I'd say you should always prioritize your own preferences first, and then if you have some extra space in there for the masses then 'maybe' include what they ask for.
I tried to have this be in the form of constructive criticism as much as possible, but ultimately as a human being I have my own biases, maybe a lot of people didn't feel that the images were creepy and it was just a small vocal minority of us that felt that way, and your average Joe just enjoyed the game as is.
Apart from that, kudos on all the hard work, and good luck with all your future endeavors, will definitely be keeping an eye on your future works. Cheers!
