They definitely should have just delayed release some weeks, but for whatever reason decided to need to come with a buggy mess on the 18th last month...
From what I can gather, 5.1.7 is still quite a bit messy, the devs apologized, commit to fixing things, yadayada... so I'd wait a couple more weeks.
