The man didn't think to NOT use the same name they use everywhere, yeah gonna call em as I see it The real backbones are those with the thought process to not use the same username on Patreon,Discord, etc as they do on a piracy site which means they can more effectively share files without getting caught as easily.

I get what you are saying. But that guy has been inactive since 2018 and all of a sudden he shows up,leaks an update right infront of dev(that too a specific ver. like android,when majority of the ppl play this on PC),doesn't explain,leaves and gets banned. All of this is pretty fckin based imo.

Its more for the Dev to have a presence, and they are smart enough to know and acknowledge that piracy happens. Piracy isn't from a malicious place 99% of the time but they do have the right to pursue legal action whenever they want. Incontinent Cell seems pretty chill, understanding and just happy people are enjoying their work. They willingly make it free for everyone after a grace period for patreon donors. But it still stands they could have a case if they decided to on those same grounds that the game IS not available to the general public currently, and the other party is acting in a malicious manner.

Dev just needed to turn off the link and the leak was fixed

I know that you are only joking/fearmongering,but I am genuinely curious as to what kind of 'legal' action you can take here. I thought the most you could do is get hosting sites to take it down,but even then,some sites like bunkrr don't honor DMCA.

I know game companies can sue for piracy but those are generally backed by big publishers with enough ppl on payroll in their legal team to fit a football field and gorrilian patents on their products,also their games are not goon-coded xD.

Assuming you can sue,then what kind of reimbursement can you get? And what if the person is from EE/BALKANS/South Asia/Brazil cause nobody gives a damn about piracy there unless you are one of the big boys.

I honestly don't like piracy very much, come on, it's only 6 dollars, nobody is that miserable.
Unless you are from a country with a devalued currency.
