Hmm... What games ? You don't decompile a RPG maker game with the same tool than a Ren'Py or Unity one, and what you can do with the result will also depend.
And why this need to decompile them ? It's not necessary to play them, it's more the opposite.

I guess the scripts are wrote in Python 2.x, while the Ren'Py 8.x branches are them using Python 3.x.
You need a newer version of the script, made for Ren'Py 8.x, if it exist, else you'll need another tool. But honestly I haven't really looked at this and right now I have issue in real life and not really the time to look deeper.
