OK, so apparently posting speed runs and runthroughs of porn games on Pornhub is a thing now...

So, I was looking at the cartoon section of Pornhub, and I noticed a few things...

So this has me scratching my head. Sure, I get that some people hate having to play a game multiple times to find the right path, but walkthroughs can help you with that.

I suppose the 'upside' is that you could fast forward through the boring parts, but in any case, yeah apparently this is a thing now.

One of the videos posted said speedplay. I didn't link that one, it was for My Cute Roommate:

It says speedplay, not speed run, but that's how I interpreted it. at 78 minutes, I wouldn't call it very speedy though...

In the video run, the person is clicking through the dialogue rather quickly at least.

I'll play devil's advocate for a minute. Why does one play a porn game? I would argue most porn games have two main pieces: story and erotic content. (We're going to put "games with porn" aside for a minute.) If we go with that assumption, then one doesn't have to play the game to get a fairly full experience. Being the person that clicks the screen doesn't add a ton of value. If a game does have multiple paths, then there could be multiple runs. A corruption run and an innocent run or a run where you end up with a different character. This is one step up from getting a CG rip for a game. With a run through you can also get the story.

Some reasons you might want to watch a game instead of playing it:
1. You don't have to download and run the game. Some games are huge file sizes.
2. You don't have to figure out a game. (same mindset as using a walkthrough)
3. You want a passive experience. Some people would rather just watch. (See Twitch.tv)

Those are java games though. They have a number of 'game' elements in them, with some eroticism thrown in for fun.

If you haven't played them, and if java doesn't deter you, might be worth a look.

Traditional games are meant to be played. I would argue that a lot of the games on this site are pretty light on the gameplay. I am not saying that in a negative way, it's a different style. We aren't making Street Fighter or Counter Strike. Most of the games on here are along the lines of a Telltale game or Life is Strange. With these types of games, being the one doing the actual playing is a smaller part of the experience.
