I think they will do this because a few years ago, a game development team also encountered this situation. There were acquaintances I knew in the team, so I learned about it. He had just joined the team dealing with other languages and had not yet been included in the producer list, thus escaping unscathed. However, I can't provide any evidence about this matter. Well I already left a review with the general idea I have of the game explained in an exhaustive way, so I will be brief, the game is quite good, it is missing one or another minigame or puzzle, but the love with which it is made and the attention to detail, music, backgrounds, new characters and others selected from the lesser known of the show, everything adds up, I really hope that the next update does not take too long to arrive, I am excited to know how the story of it will continue.
If you haven't played it yet, give it a chance. The language barrier is no excuse either. Hotzone18 has a patch that translates it completely, that's how I was able to finish it.

They shut the Discord down last year for reasons I've never fully understood, but I assume have to do with AnonDev.

I understand, it's a shame that Discord has closed. I would like to be able to follow the game's development and provide feedback. So, the only thing left is to follow them through Homeschool-Studios.....
But is something wrong with the creative team? Or are they just working quietly?

Nothing inherently. He just has a reputation of being a dick who responses to any criticism severely negatively.
He's also not a fan of people asking for updates even if it's been a while since they post one.
Working quietly, I guess? I see it kinda like the team behind BenX where they just work on the game and don't post fuck all about it. Which pisses me off still, but it's certainly a way to create.

Yeah they just sorta work on it whenever they have the time. Both Dive and Irrelevent make these games just for fun really, so they still have to live the rest of their lives as it comes. Dive is an environmental engineer and Irrelevent is a software engineer IIRC, and Dive even has a family to take care of. I kinda get being pissed with other WEG devs who are in it for the patreon or subscribestar check every month, but they've made it pretty clear that shit is gonna get released or revealed whenever they happen to finish it. Could be tomorrow, could be 2026.

But honestly I'm more intrigued as to what they're gonna do now that itch.io cracked down and shadowbanned NOVEL at the very least. All the Canterlot stuff's still up, but NOVEL is fuckin gone man lol
