HTML Opinion on images in HTML games?

I’m working on a Twine game in my spare time. I’ve almost got 30,000 words written so far.

I’m at a crossroads where I feel like it’s a lot of text and I could spruce it up with some images, but I’ve always found it tacky the way most HTML games just steal porn gifs and there’s rarely any cohesion between the images you’re seeing.
I’m considering slamming my head against AI image generation to get what I need.

For HTML games, how important are pictures? Will most people just read through erotic text, or do I need images?

It depends on each person. I for one am not interested in something that has little to no imagery. Others are completely fine with it.

It also depends on the writing skill. Some people just regurgitate the most uninteresting crap I've ever read.... and on top of that, they think the more they write the better the story is, when in fact, their poor writing can hurt the story.

A balance of good writing and good imagery is something I personally look for when browsing stories/games on this site. I don't like walls of text, especially when it's not written well and uninteresting.

Images are good. You need a plan tho. Find what type of porn are you doing. For example, you wanna do an Interracial focused game - find an actress that's done a lot of those scenes and use her as your protagonist. That way you're not jumping between a blonde, redhead, brunette, different body types, different actresses. Just stick to one thing alone.

This is the way. Please look into SlutED, op - that's probably the best use of stolen porn on this website: mostly consistent pictures, plus the dev takes the time to apply that filter to his pictures to remove the feeling of them being real porn.
