As the previous reviewer mentioned it's really hard to rate this game, because good parts are really good and bad ones are really bad

+ Sex scenes are very good
+ Renders
+ Characters' design
+ Different fetishes
+ Dev tries to improve

+/- Some of LIs are feminists and they practically non stop harassing MC - I don't know how to rate it, maybe some loves to be harassed, but I'm not

- Writing - it's extremely boring to read walls of text about LIs and this information has practically zero attachment to the game
- Writing is not consistent sometimes: for example Lady Steel can't do anything about raping of other person only because it was major plot twist
- Some plot twists are obvious: like main villain
- Kinetic novel - that means no branches, hopefully it will be fixed in the future
- Too much girls to build a deep connection with all of them

To summarize, from my point of view the main problem of this VN is writing. It has the same problem as modern movies: you have to read things that should be watched and experienced through the gameplay

TLDR: Difficult rating because the highs are so high but the lows so low. A lot of negatives. NTR. Idiot MC. But hot girls, good renders. Great anal, a2m. No blueballing. Dominating some girls.

Positives:

• Excellent sex scenes.
• Anal. Deep and rough.
• a2m. Dialogue does highlight this, which is great.
• Dirty talk is really hot, well written!
• Girls are beautiful. (Some have bad breasts but it's a minor issue.)
• Rendering quality is outstanding.
• MC looks good, ripped. (Except for his weird testicles.)
• Can to an extent disable NTR, but unfortunately still significant issues listed below.
• In principle it's nice you can disable lesbian content. Unfortunately you then secretly miss out on several sex scenes for MC, threesomes, so it's quite frustrating.
• Proper deepthroating and focused swallowing. One LI also enjoys wearing MCs cum on her all day at school.s
• Dominating and degrading some girls. Very hot. Especially the best friend turned into a depraved anal slut.
• Interactivity in most sex scenes. Choose position, mouth, pussy, anal (sometimes), etc.
• Harem, kind of. As long as you disable NTR we at least don't have to directly see the girls fuck other guys. Great that some LIs help MC get laid with other girls.
• School setting. And fucking a classmate in the school bathroom.
• No blueballing. Worth mentioning given it's often a problem with porn games.
• Duplication power so MC can double-team one LI by himself. Sadly there's no DP yet though.
• For one girl you can choose to either corrupting or "normal" relationship.

Negatives:

• Story is kinetic. Only choices are essentially which girls to fuck.
• Much of the game is about the LIs being in sexual situations with other men and I don't know why. E.g. the "mother" is slutty, pursuing many young men, the sister is a stripper, classmate is a prostitute, others use anonymous sex apps to hook up, one sells nudes, and maaany similar situations. Other guy giving 6 of your LIs the best orgasm they've ever had, same guy clearly implied fucking another LI. This stuff happens over and over. All with safe mode on. Why?
• MC is a bit of an idiot. Clichéd, infuriating. E.g. can't understand women, when they're attracted to him, keeps questioning why they want to fuck him.
• No animations. Sometimes there's just 2 renders repeated.
• No choice: LI asks MC if he's OK with a douchebag guy touching her, giving her an orgasm. MC responds that's fine. Why the fuck don't we get a choice in these questions? (Kinetic)
• Story has way too many plot holes.
• Must see LIs getting sexually assaulted. Several girls and several times.
• Unskippable cutscenes. Renders play in a sequence, slowly, awkwardly, frustrating.
• Poor and frequent attempts at humor. Stupid breaking-the-fourth-wall jokes.
• Game makes it seem you can disable or avoid certain sex acts without negative consequences but instead you also miss out on other types of sex acts. E.g. if you decline rimming then you, without warning and hiddenly, will not be able to fuck that girl anally.
• No choice about MC's opinions and preferences. A small example: girl asks MC if he likes girls that are bossy/dominant and MC says he prefers that. Opposite of what I want.
• Disabling lesbian content makes you miss out on sex scenes with MC and some girls, threesomes, foursome. Frustrating and not at all clear from the description.
• Useless freeroam, point-and-click.
• MC getting sexually assaulted while sleeping.
• MC switches personality from scene to scene. Some scenes he lacks any charm, is annoyingly insecure, incompetent. E.g. hot girl jerks MC off, MC responds with "uhm, are you sure? Eh, but, uhm, with me, really? Why?" Next scene MC is super confident, charming, etc. Then back to idiot again.
• "Landlord" instead of mom. And the game jokes about the "stepsister"/"roommate" who isn't really but kind of. (Lacks incest patch, dev says such a patch doesn't fit story.)
• Despite "Safe Mode" there's still many situations where the girls pursue other men or talk about fucking others, swallowing their cum etc. I'd prefer if the girls instead were focused on MC.
• Most of the girls are sluts already. I prefer corrupting girls, turning them into sluts.
• Story is sometimes really stupid. Like the school dean claiming he'll suspend MC for a month if he tries to have sex with any girl. And it's obvious from the start the dean is a bad guy.
• One of the girls is a prostitute. To get the good story progress MC essentially has to buy and fuck her directly after another dude fucked her. (With "safe mode" on, btw.)
• Tattoos. Many of the girls have tattoos. Not my thing.
• Bugs. E.g. code checking if a variable is "True" but it's actually set to "Yes", so you miss some scenes.

Number of scenes when trying to maximize sex (NTR disabled. I'm counting generously, a threesome counts as 2 scenes.)

• Vaginal: 14 (Evelyn: 3. Moonsong: 2. Emerald: 2. Anna: 2. Cat: 1. Meri: 1. Arwen: 1. Ruth: 2.)
• Anal: 6 (Evelyn: 3. Moonsong: 1. Emerald: 1. Meri: 1.)
• DP: 0 (Evelyn does get a dildo in her pussy while anal fucked but that doesn't count since it's not two dicks.)

This is a great example of a dev truly understanding what makes a visual novel, reading the dev notes you can see that there´s no animations here, for some that's a problem and I can understand why, but I believe Origin Story has all the qualities to be one of the best out there.
The renders quality is good, the first chapters have a some flaws but as it goes on the improvement are glaring, good use of lighting and camera shots, and the designs of the LI have a charm that many will enjoy. And speaking of renders, this game has a lot of them, both in narrative and as bonus, a delight for someone who appreciates those like myself, all neatly presented in a nice gallery.
The writing is good, also fellied to the brim with silly tropes but as a superhero story with adult and erotic themes it would be pretty hard to reinvent the wheel so instead of nuance we have great character development and a well structured narrative. It's a power trip fantasy and it doesn't shy from it, embracing it and having fun with it; that's also a point to it's favor, this game has some very funny moments but also some good drama and emotive .
You could say the weakest part is the sound department, with only serviceable background music, I agree on this but also think that avoiding innecesary use of cheesy or annoying sound effects is a good choice.
Adressing the "NTR" warning because as someone who enjoys it every now and then.. COME THE F%CK ON!!! This is nothing, believe me when I say that if you´re doubting to dive in this AVN then trust me when I say there's no need.
AVN's like this show why theres no need for thing like AI generated sex scenes. if you fell like you project wont be nothing witout animations then you´re not understanding the medium, not to trash the hard work of other people, but sometimes it seems they forget what vn stands for, JDOr understands it and I encourage anyone who enjoys this game to support it whenever they can.

This is up there with Pale Carnations for me. Very good writing, characterization, and story.

It's not perfect, but nothing is. I couldn't care less that there is no animation. I'd much rather have more frequent updates than animation with this level of quality being produced sans animations. Animations are a minimum of 4 times the time investment to produce and render than stills, so weigh how important they are to you if they cost you are getting a quarter of the amount of updates. So we're on version 0.8.2, we'd be in chapter 2 still at this point. Hell with that, the Lady Steel arc was worth the cost of animation loss alone. If you think I'm exaggerating, come back after you've actually done the same work WITH the necessary DAZ animations of quality in dramatically less time than I'm estimating. Just waving your hand and saying you could do better, faster, is meaningless drivel. I'm talking REAL experience, not "imo, bro, fr fr".

The real trigger point seems to be "NTR". As ever, it brings the dregs out of the shadows from both sides. Whatever. The definition of NTR is, for the record, a form of Japanese media that portrays infidelity (cheating, for those who don't know bigger words). If you define cheating in these games as ANYONE you mentally call "dibs" on, then this has NTR, but the Dev absolutely included stupid-proof toggles to eliminate all of it. It's ONE minor occurrence of B/G and a few lesbian scenes.

I, personally, filter my list to remove NTR because I do not get off on betrayal of trust or being a cuckold, which the genre was built on (I'm not a submissive or a switch). But I like women, so I don't have any issue with the lesbian scenes and I left the safety toggles off in this game and I had no issues with the one B/G NTR scene (so far). To me, it only fulfills the definition if you really strictly adhere to it (and many people do here); that being anyone who is not the MC doing anything sexual with one of the potential LIs.

Even if NTR of any kind bothers you, toggle the safeties on and play this. This is quality stuff. I don't think I've played thousands of games here, but hundreds of them, easily. This is top 3.

Fun, light-hearted AVN. Good visuals, good enough plot - although the story is in it's early stages from what I can see, but with how 0.8.2 it feels like next update it's going to be a heavy story segment. Diverse Li cast(and holy fuck the invisible Li is such a great idea). Visuals are very good, definitely up there with the top AVNs. The game lacks animations, but the erotic talk makes it up for it tenfold and you can run your imagination run wild which makes for awesome h-scene. Another plus of stills for h-scenes is that they are nicely customizable in terms of kinks, you don't like something? You can easily repress the thought of the MC and it will disable that kink. Awesome stuff, definitely AVN worth playing.

Origin Story puts you behind the driver's seat of a guy with fucking superpowers.

And it's really good. I have some modest complaints. Some of the humor is a little too juvenile, the story hook is a little slow and awkward, the porn logic is just a little too strong at times, but overall? Absolute banger.

It's got a story with good characters, interesting events, and reasonable justifications for what happens. The girls are hot with excellent scenes, great outfits, and likeable personalities. The world is engaging and likely only hampered by the fact that it's a porn game. I'd be pretty interested to see more places and how superpowers have warped everything.

While some of the jokes didn't land with me, I was pretty amused by most of the comedy. The potshots taken at people who view a girl having sex with anyone other than themselves as NTR were particularly hilarious to me. If you're one of those chuds, probably avoid this one. That said, you probably wouldn't even see the jokes as there's options to remove any reference to other men by the female cast. You won't get the full Fraser experience this way though.

It appears that season 1 ended recently (0.8.2) so now seems like a good time to get into the story. I can't say anything about the dev's update pace as I tripped on this game by lucky happenstance. The game might be a little too VN and kinetic novel for some people, but if you're looking for a superhero VN, you absolutely can't go wrong here.

Genuinely this game is a top 3 for me, right under Being a DIK and Pale Carnations.

All the women are just hot, especially Lady steel and Amber who happens to be invisible funny enough.
Has insane potential imo. My only gripe is I want the MC to use his powers more. So far I'd say it has just the right amount of kinks.
Yes, some women do seem to just through themselves at you and it's whatever there's always going to be those in these games, but also there's others that legit have depth to them and actual story and aren't just eye candy.

Try the game, it's got a decent amount of content right now but not an insane amount. Will on on the saved list eagerly waiting updates

Very good AVN. Loved the story and the visuals. The humor was funny and the whole story had me engaged. Definitely pictured myself as the MC and looking forward to what came next. I will definitely be purchasing on steam to support the creator. So looking forward to the next season.

Giving Origin Story (0.8.2) a rating of 4.0 as of now. It has a fun premise, if a bit predictable, but moves forward with it in ways that entertain.

+ Unique and good models for characters
+ Character personalities are fleshed out and usually interesting
+ Good quality renders and environments/lighting
+ Good language skills / verbose text
+ Sex scenes are long enough and well written
+ Some scenes/characters are emotionally deep
+ Light humor elements, though some are good

-/+ Abundant music tracks (over a gigabyte - too much IMO)
-/+ Few kinks (so far anal is pretty much it, so... no kinks)
-/+ No animations (either scenes, or stills)
-/+ Requires multiple playthroughs to see all scenes on all paths

- After ~2+ years of development, less than 2 days worth of play
- MC doesn't explore his new powers much (or at all really)
- MC is written as a bit too passive, and a bit of a wimp
- Some LIs have exaggerated (and unattractive) physical characteristics (like areolas)
- Heavy use of flashbacks (memories) to pad out content

The frequency and length of sex scenes is fairly good, though I would have appreciated more (there were plenty of opportunities for the MC to pursue). The story does draw you in and keep you following it, and it is easy to do so, but again it is just too short to have moved very much since the start.

Kinks really need to be introduced, unless this is planned to be a "vanilla sex game". So far it only touches on threesomes, one foursome, and some infrequent anal play. There were lots of opportunities for water sports, fisting, exhibitionism, bondage, and so on that were skipped.

Ultimately the game has massive promise, and what is there now is pretty good, if a bit short. Deserving of the 4.0 I'm giving it as it is worth playing, but it could be a *lot* better with more investment of time from the dev.

This AVN is just perfect. The characters are wonderful, each with their own story, personality and flaws, which makes them interesting and the game more than just a banal superhero story about “good heroes and bad villains.” Excellent renders, made with attention to detail. The dialogues strike an ideal balance between silliness and seriousness. The soundtrack is great and pleasant. It's a harem, but one that doesn't consist of an endless cycle of sex scenes - again, a perfect balance. I want to say a sincere thank you to JDOR for this game. This is one of the best AVNs I've played, and I'm enjoying every second of it.

Overall, great game. Good storyline with some obvious cliches. Beautiful models and renders. Distinct and lovable characters, each with their own quirks and personalities. Overall, it's a great experience. I hope Dev continues to work hard and brings us awesome updates....

Well I will start off with this is one of the best games out here, but... so I will mostly comment what I see wrong with it.
1 the Mc is a bit too much of a pussy, brave against all odds but so passive and boring , no initiatives with the girls
2 G- Georgia-Moonsong should have bigger tits its a bit creepy some times not just the tits but....
3 Tania- Emerald and Ruth - LadySteel are great, I get there is a lot of drama but for non virgins

One of my favorite games... excellent story, writing and renders. The merger of superpowers and porn is perfectly done, more than any game I've seen so far. The writing is amusing and witty, and there's a wide range of attractive women. The story is pretty linear, the choices are you can accept/reject individual love interests. I'm constantly amazed how well done the writing/scenarios are with each release, and look forward to the seeing what comes next.

Forgot why I stopped playing this before, saw the overall rating and figured I must have gotten distracted. But then I remembered none of the major love interests are interesting. There's the scene with the "mommy" which is really gross in general and the rest aren't much better and yeah, once again I lost interest.

If you're going for a VN which is route based, you choose one person, or maybe not just one but basically it's not Harem, then some of these characters make sense. There's a pick your flavour kind of feeling to it, you ignore whoever you don't like, so doesn't matter that you find them repulsive, and you choose the one you do like.

For a Harem... this just doesn't work. It totally defeats the point of aiming at that audience. Why bother including a bunch of repulsive options, some meh options and then one ok option when you may as well have just cut 90% of it and made it into a single girl VN? Faster to make and would be more enjoyable. Quantity shouldn't be put before quality.

For anyone about to argue "but realism" it's about superpowers... so no. Also the whole point of a Harem game is to enjoy a silly little power trip. Why in the name of all that is holy, would anyone want to do a power trip, all about being cool enough to bag a bunch of mediocre women...? Focus on the best, not the most common/realistic.

The premise is good, if done with more humour at least the story could be great, it definitely takes itself too seriously though and makes very little sense at the same time which is a poor combination.

It's hard to remain invested when both the plot/holes in the plot and the LI's are underwhelming.

Was hooked from the start, and it just gets better with every update.
Renders are solid, there's quite a big roster of gorgeous women (a bit of everything really).
The story itself is honestly quite good and has me hooked.

And if it matters to you, even if a bit cliche at times (and arguably a bit fast paced), overall the dialogs are well written and something that humans could say, unlike some VNs out there.

Finding out what each character's power is "IS" awesome! And most of all, the Dev is one of the greatest/most passionate/amazing/awesome Devs ! You can feel the love ❤, passion , hard work ✊, and dedication while playing the game.

THIS GAME HAS SKYROCKETED TO BEING ONE OF MY FAVORITE AVNS!!!

Origin Story is by far the best AVN I have so far played! To me it ticks all the boxes for what a great story should be.
1) All of the LIs are incredibly beautiful, including the invisible one!
2) Who hasn't wanted to be a Super Hero? The powers people possess are believable & varied. Sometimes incredibly funny!
3) Not all of the actions of our MC are noble or for the benefit of anyone but himself, which to me makes the story more believable!
4) The Renders, Graphics & Music are all superb!
5) This is as much an emotional journey for all of the characters as a lewd one.
6) I have lost count of the number of times I have replayed this AVN, and I always start from the beginning when a new update comes out. For me the story is just that good!

You have to remember that this is not our world, and the rules & morals are different than what we experience. So, be a bit relaxed with what you would normally consider OK NTR?, I promise you will not be disappointed with the experience.
So, buckle up & bring plenty of tissues for this very erotic & emotional ride!

Very good renders, great writing, great music and atmosphere. The characters and story are interesting, the dystopian setting is especially well done. The game proves that an AVN doesn't need animations for hot lewd scenes.
