I wonder how “adult” the teenage jealousy will get. I doubt it could be something intense like NTR but this game seems a bit less wholesome than OL1.

Envy can stem from so many things like I plan for one of my MCs (that has a enemies to lovers route with Tama lol) to be envious of Tamarack's personality but also this specific MC is a transwoman so she's also envious on how cute and feminine Tama is (kid is just realizing she has feelings for Tama lmaoo). Envy for Qiu for an example could be how they seem to be unbothered about a lot of things nowadays (even tho obviously it's deeper than that). I think Kab will give us a few options and the community will most likely be able to pitch in ideas as well. It can be played out in different ways which I think is so interestingggg, I'm so excited to build on the story with the system! Also even though Tamarack's family situation is horrible, there could be someone who's like, "Oh well at least you have both parents" which... isn't helpful to say but some people may look at it that way (which is a sucky opinion tbh) or look at Qiu and be like, "At least you can be firm about your identity" even if it's not true exactly.
I've been told shit like that before (the gender and personality stuff even if it's more to the story) and it's really disheartening to hear but people, especially teenagers, are figuring out shit. It's about to get rough </3
IMO I feel like Tamarack is the "jealous" one and Qiu is the "envious" one.
It seems like Tammy doesn't have a lot of friends, and is very isolated in her community, so it makes sense for her to chafe whenever someone is taking away her biggest lifeline, the MC.
On the other hand, Qiu is absolutely depressed, but they're apparently even more popular than ever. (everyone loves angst) But I feel like they seeded the idea that Qiu wants to be the best, and is frustrated when they can't be, so I feel like it's easier to imagine they might be envious of an MC that has their shit figured out.
But yeah, it really is up to personal preferecne. Just my two cents.
I appreciate the different types of answers to my question, but what I specifically meant was do you guys see Qiu and Tamarack during step 2 as deferring/teamworking/contesting, praising/unassuming/teasing, and admiring/accepting/doting lolol I'm trying to figure out what makes the most sense to have them as

It mostly depends on your MC cos that's their dynamic with your MC in that route, I'd think about how your MC is in that step and think about how their dynamic would be with the LIs and how the LIs would respond to it! There's no right or wrong because it all depends on your MCs!! One of my MCs has Tama with Teamworking/Praising/Admiring/Envious while his dynamic with her is Teamworking/Praising/Doting/Jealous Over but with Qiu he's Teamworking/Teasing/Doting/Jealous over and Qiu is Deferring/Teasing/Doting/Jealous over (and he's romancing Qiu while being BFFs with Tama) but my MC romancing Tama has completely different dynamics cos of my MCs personality and just how different the relationships play out in my head!
I highly recommend reading over the descriptions of the Relationship Dynamic System in game as well, it can help give you a bit more thoughts on your MC and LIs relationships!
I'm so excited for it tbhhh!! Too many thoughts abt it step 3/step 4 tam and qiu being jelly lol but the jealousy system won't be available when you're in an official relationship so i'm curious how it'll play out if you have like, established feelings for the LIs but aren't in a relationship yet compared to just crushing on them and being jealous!

I figured the homeroom thing was if you had an elective with them, but I haven't replayed to check- since I had one with both of them and we all shared the same homeroom.
Qui is a tough one for me like others have claimed they act unbothered until stuff is in their face that they can't ignore in step 1 Qui was teamwork, tease and doting I believe now for step 2 I could see them being deferring and going along with whatever Mc wants, the second one praising if Qui has a crush on Mc, unassuming if neighbors and teasing if friends aka bffs
Qui still worries Hella about Mc doting would still be fine or accepting for nonbinary/trans Mc who comes out in step 2.
Tamarack has now moved into teamworking or deferring she's no longer confident bubbly or acts like how she used to
Tamarack will do praising if friends or crush and unassuming if neighbors
Same for accepting Tamarack accepts a trans Mc coming out or nonbinary or admires Mc when they do better then she does aka doing clubs when she cannot.
It's random if you don't get who you want backspace until it randomly decides the choices are Qui only, Tammy only both or neither I did this
Murray is Mcs class the other one isn't you'll know when Qui says it's BS or be happy mc got murray or Tammy says noooo or yessss
Honestly now I thought about it either of them could be envious of an Mc who does good at everything Tamarack has no time for clubs I'm not sure if high school qui still ignores the teacher and doesn't pay attention but we'll find out but they could be envious if mc has perfect grades.
Personally I hope people have fun with envy idk if I'm gonna use it in my playthrough jealousy yes but envy sounds like another disaster and I'm already using jealousy for step 2.
I play this game alot so I know almost anything about the crush routes or outcomes so if anybody got questions I'll play until I get it lmao
Has anyone here found out how you can become Qiu's best friend? I'm assuming it isn't achievable in step 1, but I'm curious about how it could go in future steps.

Hiii, If i remember correctly, bestfriend status can be achieved in the magic moment but its been a while since i last played. I think you need to pick the friend option when it appears in step 1 but im really not sure- you can always just pick bestfriends at the beginning of step 2
To add onto the previous commenter, you can also become best friends during the hide and seek moment. When Qiu and Tamarack separate on their own, you need to stay with Qiu and choose the "You're my best friend" option. It will update you to best friend status!
It'd be cool if there was an option to update relationship status to crush in any step, unless it's already been possible? I'm not so sure.
If you mean during the playthrough rather than the relationship standing screen, then yes, you can! I'm not sure about Tamarack specifically, but with Qiu you have at least 2 opportunities during step 1. One is after you race with him during "Wheels," and another is while you talk with him in his hideout after Tamarack leaves in "Magic."
Friend or crushes with either Tam or Qui can unlock best friends Tam in the prologue she will bring it up just say your best friends and Qui during Magic you have to stay with Qui in the tree house and pick one of the last two dialogue choices
Somebody said Qui could also be done with the bike race I was unaware of this because I never race Qui and win now because I like doing the co pilot and jumping off so Qui can win but if you want Qui don't friend Tam in the prologue then just get a bike, race Qui then the best friend dialogue should probably pop up after the race.

It turns out, this game uses a different choice mechanic from the first one, so URM can't detect choices (i used it in the previous game to track paths and variables)
