Ehh, I don't like to be a downer when it comes to release dates or else it'll irritate me so I honestly don't like to think about it at all but Step 2 is nearly done being written, it's just the programming that Kab needs to start really focusing on. I thought she'd be done with the half moment stuff when starting Step 2, she said she'd do full moments eventually buuuut... yeah. I think it could happen. For release, the goal was put out the base game (free moments) and the step 1 + 2 dlc moments first which I think is very possible to do in the timeframe they want as long as she locks in with programming. The moment she gets to Step 3, all she has to do is make sure she finishes the base game and epilogue and she'll be on track cos they didn't have plans to post the step 3 dlc until later (they're trying to follow ol1's release and step 3 dlc didn't come out during the game release). IF anything, I think she'd just release Step 1 and Step 2 because she couldn't finish the Step 3 stuff that was supposed to be out (prologue, free 5 moments, epilogue) in time and then release Step 3 a month later or smth but I wouldn't be too upset personally because the timeframe for the WHOLE game (dlcs and all) to be out was through 2026 anyway (like the wedding dlc is supposed to be started on in early-mid 2026, the digital artbook is supposed to be out mid-late 2026, for example).

We'll be getting a Development Info hopefully at the start of next year so we'll see what they say.

As someone who played through their last game from relatively early on in it's development through it's wedding, Baxter and Derek DLCs and this one from it's first update irregularly; probably not and you probably don't want it to bc it means they rushed their pace which so far has served them well, I think, bc I can see they've been consistently improving writing/story wise and while I can't speak to their pace/workload behind the scenes and I hate the waiting more than most I definitely prefer thinking they're taking their time and treating themselves and the game with the care they both deserve

Get ready for a run! Step 2 focusing more on school means you'll have to do gym class.

OLNF: School Gym BG & New Artist Introduction!

Here's the gymnasium of Riverview Peak! You can't have gym class outside too often. Usually, you'll be breaking a sweat on these shiny floors.
And yes, it is another artist introduction! Now that the script for Step 2 is nearly done, I know how many locations are needed. It's a lot. So many I decided to hire two new BG artists for the project. The gym and school otter logo were created by Ze from Square Weasel Studio. He develops his own visual novels, too. The company's currently released game is Chronicles of Taldun: The Remainder!

If you thought the otter logo in the school gym was super cute, you're in luck! The artist shared a plain, png version of the image. Feel free to use it in your own fanworks or on social media accounts to show Riverview Peak pride, just make sure to credit the artist.

This is the very last beta of 2025 . It continues progress into Step 2 with the start of the linked Moments and then Part 1 of PJ Day, which is one of the two linked Moments of the teenaged years.
To see most of the content, you need to vote to have the fundraiser happen before the tests!

Giving this a try for the first time and it's very charming so far, just reaching the end of Day 2 getting to know everybody in town. It feels like breaking some kind of rule stumbling across a game that puts this much effort into being inclusive in defining your character's identity on this website of all places. Been a long time since I've played a SoL VN but I can see the passion that's gone into this.

There's another Our Life game that's already been finished and can be found on here!
It's a little less personalized, but it's still VERY much wonderful. I highly recommend taking a look at it!

EDIT: There was an issue with character sprites displaying for some players. Shawna created a build with fixes for that! The 1.5.3 files have been replaced, so you can just use the links here to get the fixed version.
