This came out of left field. Wonder where the MC picked this up?

You must have picked options that added swearing points in the counter, MC can be rude while still being relatively tame in their language but choosing options with swearing in it changes things. I think the first one was "heck" vs "hell" that adds to the counter

Does anyone have the Q&A and new script preview?
Sorry for the delay!
OL2 PJ Day Step 2 Script Preview.jpg
OL2: PJ Day Step 2 Script Preview

Play ball! I can't even begin to explain how many alterations are in this one gym class, aha.

Pure Text:
mrs_d “Today, we’re playing dodgeball.”
“Oh [shit/dang].” #if mc swears or not
mrs_d “Split up, please! Go to one side of the court or the other. I’ll give things a tweak if the teams aren’t even.”
“Students bolted. Mrs. Dawes remembered her “please and thank yous” with the teens, but you shouldn’t be mistaken, her words weren’t requests, they were commands.”
“She could strike before a human could blink. Not by literally hitting anybody. But she’d yell at you and mark you down for bad behavior like that!”
“The jockiest kids were instinctively drawn to each other. They didn’t need a team huddle to know they wanted the strongest players on their end.”
“Anybody not in the sports crowd was naturally repelled into the opposite side of the room, except for a few artistic souls who stayed with the jocks to protect themselves from being against them.”
“Vianca and her whole crew could see the writing on the wall. If they wanted to be together after Mrs. Dawes’s adjustments, it’d be easier to squeeze in with the misfits than the gym bros, babes, and bosses.”
“The teacher herself went to pick up the one piece of equipment the game required. In the chasm between the divided student body, the three of you from Acorn Road were alone.”
“Tamarack swung her face from one side to the other. She pressed some fingers to her lips.”
if tam deferring or mc in bad mood:
tam “What are we gonna do?”
if not:
tam “We should be on the same team. The one with Vianca has room, I think.”
######
“Qiu shrugged with both shoulders, though was careful not to push their sweater into its proper position.”
qiu “I’m good with joining the underdogs. As we know, winning is just like losing, only harder.”
“That was harsh, but it was pretty undeniable who the favorite team to win was. More and more players had slipped in with the jocks, it had the strength and probably a majority of members.”
“At most maybe one of you could still sneak in.”
Menu:
-“You’d go with Qiu and Tamarack.”:
-“You already were gonna join the non-jocky team.”:
-“You didn’t care, so it was fine.”:
-“You definitely had to be on the same team as Qiu!” if close qiu:
-“You absolutely had to be on the same side as Tamarack!” if close tam:
-“You absolutely had to be on the same team as Qiu and Tamarack!” if close tam and qiu:
-“You’d go to the opposite side. That’d be the funniest choice.”:
-“You wanted to win. You went with those sports players.”:
-“You planned on competing against Qiu!”:
-“You planned on competing against Tamarack!”:
-“You planned on competing against Qiu and Tamarack!”:
-“You needed a break from those two, other team it was.”:
-“You’d let Qiu and Tamarack play something without you for once!” if wants/hopes for them to be friends:
-“You couldn’t decide…”:

ugh the Qiu/Tammy split is really wrecking me here

I want to spend time with Tammy b/c I'm """romancing""" her, but I feel like the biggest asshole in the galaxy every time I pick her over Qiu bc at least she has other friends. It seems like MC is the literal only person in the entire town that Qiu is even capable of spending any time with.

Right now, the tension between those two is much more noticeable, and I'm curious how different their views on love are, because clearly one feels freer than the other—poor Qiu, I want them to be happy —I seriously don't know how they got to the point where they doesn't want to do anything or enjoy herself anymore.
I know it's not necessarily a canonical option in-story (especially if later story beats ever openly address the reasons for the change), but my headcanon for my own version of the story is sort of that at some point Qui realized they had really strong feelings for my main character, but also realized that they had zero chance of ever being "more than friends" because I was already hopelessly in love with Tamarack.

So it sort of led to a lot of brooding and soul-searching about how unfair life is.

If nothing else, it also explains why Qui is now so ambivalent (or outright negative) about staying friends with Tamarack - every time they look at her, they're basically seeing the rival who stole the love of their life away. Every time they see me smile at her, every time I laugh at one of her jokes, every time I give her a hug or get physically affectionate in some way, it's just one more twist of the knife.

Plus, you know, they're all teenagers. And teenagers are inherently emo by nature.

To be fair, that's very much Qui's choice. It's very strongly established that most of the kids in town want to be friends with Qui, but Qui doesn't want to reciprocate. So constantly having to sacrifice your own wants and needs to support someone who is the architect of their own situation starts to shade into being a somewhat co-dependent relationship.

It'd be a different story if Qui desperately wanted to make friends with other people and was being constantly rejected, and they were utterly miserable at the thought of being alone. But it's more a case of Qui choosing to be alone, and then potentially trying to drag you into their solitude as well (which can be even more of a sacrifice if you've picked dialogue options that imply you're relatively popular at school, and thus are presumably spreading your social time and attention around to more than just Qui and Tamarack). The fact that you're still attempting to drag Qui out of their funk at all (rather than just giving up and letting them) is still a pretty significant gesture of support and friendship. And even if you are choosing Tamarack over Qui more often than not, you are still supporting Qui as well (by doing things like going to the dance recital).

Plus, if it makes you feel better, I'd say it's pretty strongly implied you're still hanging out with both of them fairly regularly "off-camera", in the time between the various scenes. You're not choosing to focus on Tamarack and completely ignore Qui whenever you choose her instead, you're just choosing her to be part of your "significant moments" that will shape your life going forward. Which makes sense if she's going to be your future love interest.

Well if it makes you feel better if you choose to be just neighbors with qiu they wouldn't wanna hang out with you neither so i guess it's atleast mutual lmao..

I have the opposite problem,i feel bad ignoring tamarack,BUT i still wanna be her friend

The game isn't done yet but I'm more hyped for Ren's dlc! She's the only LI I really liked so far and there isn't much interactions with her so far unfortunately ://

" The two leads are the only characters getting stories and all the other characters will just have to remain supporting cast who don't get DLC centered around them. "

Is that genuinely a thing? That's needlessly in-depth if so, and I admire the extra effort.
