So, the other day I was thinking about my work and how I tackle it. I'm creating an Adult Gaming Experience, a Visual Novel in the p0rn/erotic genre. And I was wondering how my work did fit into that genre.
I'm pretty clear in my philosophy when it comes to creating ORS and my games in general. I can share it with you if you guys are interested, so if that's the case let me know in the comments.
But beforethat, I wanted to know what do you guys think about the adult genre when it comes to games ( and literature and art in general). It's normally looked at as an inferior, if not problematic, genre, and it's shunned from the mainstream for obvious reasons (sometimes a bit too shunned, like it's the case in this very platform...). That makes big studios or renewed artists stay away from it, so only indie devs, we bunch of unprofessional creators, dare take on projects in this genre. Can you imagine what incredible erotic game a AAA studio like Rockstar could manage to create?
I doubt that's ever gonna happen, but erotica is getting a bit more mainstream, even if the best we got was 50 Shades of Grey... The target of those books was women though, and it's proven 95% of players of the kind of Visual Novels I make are men. In any case, what do you guys expect from these kind of Visual Novels? What are you looking for here that you can't find in other types of erotic or p0rn content? Let me know down in the comments, I'm interested in your views!
P.D.: I had to write p0rn like this so Patreon wouldn't flag this post ¬¬
Yeah, allways online, day one dlc, ingame shops together with a shit-tone of grinding, over prices DLC, a shit-tone of bugs that never get fixed and of course one or two data leaks of the customers with real names, credit cards numbers and kinks. Yeah, tbh i am quite happy they completly ignore this genre. Can you imagine what incredible erotic game a AAA studio like Rockstar could manage to create?
i've talked in another thread about the benefits of VNs compared to other erotic media. to give a short summary:

i didn't know what the hot coffee mod was and had to look. i think this pretty much showcases why VNs are indie territory. if you want to go big in the games industry, you have to meet US standards of prudishness.Yeah, allways online, day one dlc, ingame shops together with a shit-tone of grinding, over prices DLC, a shit-tone of bugs that never get fixed and of course one or two data leaks of the customers with real names, credit cards numbers and kinks. Speaking of Rockstar, who remembers the outrage because of the hot coffee mod?
Still better as if we had to meet arabian standards. Funfact afaik they havent until today found a single PC from islamist's without a shit-tone of porn on them.if you want to go big in the games industry, you have to meet US standards of prudishness.
I doubt that will be much different from what we have allready seen in the witcher series.as far as i know cyberpunk should include playable sex scenes. so if any company would be able to pull an AAA title of a VN, then only CDProjectRed comes to mind
