For some reason, neither of her games feature a healthy mother-daughter relationship. Lena has been shown to be at odds with her mother and Ashley's relationship with her mother was not quite loving (you know what I mean) either. For the males, Eric's mother is dead and Ian's is a mere footnote.
I had never noticed this but it's certainly accurate and interesting.

There could be two reasons to this , I think. Either Eva believes that individuals are born not made hence all relationships are based on compatibility. So, a familial bond is not all that important in molding an individual's personality. Or she believes that only an unhealthy mother-child can result in the types of decisions an individual would make that would make sense both in a porn game and in the real world. Thoughts?
It probably can't be the first one, since the player's choices dictate what kind of person the MC becomes, and heavily influence the paths of the supporting characters as well.

For GGGB, Ashley couldn't start off as the mostly-conscientious "good girl" without at least some solid parenting along the way. But her parents are a disaster when the story starts, so it seems to be implied that their sudden descent is the impetus for Ashley's bad choices.

Just like Ash's choices can influence the fate of other characters, Ashley herself may be a side character in her mother's own GGGB story.

because he is an asshole
Honestly and personally, I'm not a fan of Robert (because like Lena, I'm not really interested in him) but at the same time, unlike many of you, I don't hate him.
I don't think he deserves that much hate. Don't get me wrong now, he's far from being the best guy but he's not nearly as terrible as you guys say he is (from what we know about him as of now).
He can be hot headed (under the influence or maybe not) but you can reason with him and shake hands (with enough charisma)
He could either be protective or a show off to impress girls but I'm 100% sure that he's the kind to fight for his girl.
He is also paradoxically, patient and impatient. He's been trying to get Lena's attention for as long as she worked at Yunalesca but then rush things out when he finally gets a date with her.
Some people say that he's manipulative for trying to get a date with Lena by using that important information about her and her work but I think opportunistic suits him better.
From what we can see, he seems clumsy during sex ... who knows maybe he doesn't have much experience and maybe his whole behavior is an act to hide that and he's actually self conscious about himself (I doubt that anyway)
I would honestly be a bit disappointed if he's just all about scoring with Lena and nothing else... I'd like to see more depth concerning his character.
Let's just wait and see but for Ch.3 I seriously hope we get more focus on Wade & Cindy, Holly (I'm begging you Eva Kiss) and the Stalkfap app Ivy was talking about.

These are my opinions, not facts btw. Don't nuke me for thinking outside the box :)

Well, he might not deserve the hate but he definitely deserves all the dislike. Just because he's not completely terrible it's not that much of an achievement. The dude is pathetic and very self-centered. He can't realize that a girl doesn't owe him anything just because he's nice to her or because he took a punch for her. He's the kind to fight for his girl not because he feels protective of HER, but because he's protective of himself and his reputation. He might have a genuine crush on Lena but it's really shallow in nature. He doesn't really get her, he doesn't care to know her as a person. He doesn't take Lena's mood into consideration, he doesn't ask how she's holding up after all the Axel drama, he doesn't ask about her hobbies, about her dreams to better understand her. During their drinks, his priority is to show off before her and get her interested in him. All he talks about is himself and Lena's nude modeling and then asks for her opinion about him. And to top things off, he drops the bad news on her and hints that she should earn his goodwill if she wants to keep her job.
I don't care if he's self-conscious or not. Lena doesn't owe him her pity. He acts like an asshole about it. Fuck, if Lena is going to pity fuck anybody, it's going to be Stan because he at least doesn't act like a prick and shows more consideration for Lena even if it could be for selfish reasons, too.
When Lena agrees to invite Robert, he's not only clumsy, he only cares for his pleasure. In contrast with Ian, whose priority is to make a girl have a good time, Robert wants Lena to serve him and make him cum first. During the morning he's like "You have unfinished business"... Really, dude? Fuck you with that attitude.

So far there's nothing redeeming about him. If he really wants to present himself as a selfless hero that would protect the dignity of a girl he cares about, he should back it up with his attitude and be a bit more selfless with her as well, instead of expecting her to give him a thank-you kiss or a thank-you fuck each time he does something for her.

That could just be banter. I have an English friend who'll insult me but I know it's just banter and not him being serious.
Hmm, I didn't really think about it. So far I only pictured her as Wade's new girlfriend. But apparently, Wade was dating her for quite a while, and she had time to get to know Ian, Perry, Emma, and probably Jeremy as well. I just didn't imagine them being that close and familiar with each other to casually throw a couple of insults in friendly banter like that. From this perspective, I guess she's not as bitchy as I thought of her.

Yes, that's true. But was Ashley 'good' because ASHLEY was 'good'? Or was it because of her upbringing? Btw we don't know much about her Dad's job but considering that until he lost the job the scholarship was just something Ash aspired to for proving herself. She did not need the money to get through college. That means that the Grahams were fairly well to do (since GGGB seems to be based in the US and going for a degree seems to cost a shitload of money). This means that Ash's mum could have been a gold-digger before she had her so called epiphany.

As for Lena, she seems fairly working class. Her predicament and choice of jobs seem to be a product of circumstance rather than simply being a 'bad girl' (though there is nothing particularly bad about anything she does. Yet.). She does not seem to get off on baring herself to strangers. Her conflict with her mother is more ideological. She says that her mother does not understand her. Lena's mum is not Ash's mum though. Ash's mum would have promptly left her husband if he were terminally ill. Ash's mum sets a bad example of a man-woman relationship for her daughter whereas Lena's mum seems not to have her daughter's best interests at heart.

Yeah, it seems as if Ian and Cindy have known each other for quite some time, so it's not out of the realm of possibility that it was just friendly banter. I guess the more we get to see of Cindy we'll know for sure if she's just a bitch or not

Both her parents are accountants. That makes them decently middle class, but not wealthy. We're told that Ash's father has been unemployed for a year while the mother works to support the family AND does all the household work. She might be a ballbreaker, but we're given evidence that she didn't bail on that relationship without reason.

whereas Lena's mum seems not to have her daughter's best interests at heart.
Going through those scenes again, this might be a bit harsh. To me it reads more like the mom is stressed and just misunderstands where Lena is coming from.

But it will definitely be interesting to follow.

I do not know if I am the only one who sees a mockery of Eva towards her patreon, but in my humble opinion she is giving us a type of novel equal to the previous one.

Pretty sure it is hand drawn using a tablet. Software is probably Photoshop or Illustrator.
