You can have an open relationship, but only if Lena cheats on Ian and he finds out. The swinger route is automatically locked if you form a throuple with Lena and Holly (this one makes sense from a development POV). Lesbianism is not considered cheating by Lena. Lena can cheat with almost the entire male cast yet Jeremy and Holly are off limits cause they're Ian's friends but Wade and Perry are apparently not. Ultimately it's Eva's game and she can take it any direction she wants. Still doesn't stop the decisions from being odd.
