Hello everybody! As development for Chapter 7 continues, I thought I'd share some more behind the scenes stuff.
As you know I've been commissioning the background art to a very talented studio, and this is something I'm very happy about. Drawing backgrounds is incredibly time consuming and it's not easy to do. That forced me to use modified photographs as backgrounds for GGGB, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to keep the game going at a consistent pace, nor have that many backgrounds.
I knew I wanted to invest money in two crucial areas for my second project, one being the coloring of the drawings, an the other one the backgrounds. They add a ton of quality to the finished product, and I'm really happy to have found Giao's studio and to be working with them.
This is the sketch for one of the 3 new backgrounds in Chapter 7 (one of those being a modification of an existing one). Are you interested on seeing more behind the scenes stuff on creating the game's backgrounds?
He is childish, stubborn and selfish. He´s just an adult version of that kid in school who said "That girl is mine! i saw her first, i claimed her first, so she is mine! nobody dares to talk to her" but after that he is too shy to even approach her. He´s pissed of with life and given he only has fun in very specific ways, he doesn´t let anyone have fun by means he doesn´t approve. That´s why he gets mad when the group goes places he doesn´t like. And probably sees himself as the only gentleman in the group but he´s a perverted stalker. So cheers for Eva for creating such a relatable character. Probably most of us had a friend like that in the group and felt great when we dumped him.
This place really gives me spanish feels. Though obviously the game is placed in murica

The architectural style is more that of a Northern Italian city. Nowhere in the game there are hints that it is set in the US, aside from the English-sounding names of the characters.
I fucking hate Perry and i pray to god that we can have a chance to cuck him and fuck Emma's big juicy ass while he watches and whine like the bitch he is or we can just have a chance to fuck him over, that fucker is the reason Ian was kicked out from his parents house and yet he mocks him for not having his own place and makes him pay rent after what he did to him.
I can't wait for Ian to move out and have his own place after we make some progress with either the book or the MMA path.
If we had to bet probably you win. Plus, Giao sounds italian. But it also reminds me to the "plaza mayor" you can find in any spanish city.
And yeah, there´s no indicator of the game setting in america, but it´s just the common so I imply it.

The developer is from Spain if my memory is correct, if so it is no wonder the buildings look like this.

Ian's an asshole too, depending on the playthrough. And I'll bet he will be in the majority of them as he harems it up. All of the men in ORS are assholes, and I'm not just saying this because I don't like men in general (at least, sexually or romantically). Unlike in GGGB, there's no decent "Dave" character.

Ian can be an asshole, but it's just as easy to to play him as a good guy with a big dream who is there for his friends and trying to start a romance or not.
But yeah pretty much all the other guys are bad. Perry is a whiner, Wade is lazy and inattentive, Robert is abusive, Ed and Stan are creeps, Axel is obsessive and manipulative, Jeremy is a player, and Seymour is a rich douche who thinks he's wise.
Maybe the photograher Danny is ok? Don't remember but he doesn't have much of a part yet.
At first I was trying to help Perry with Emma but really she deserves better.
It feels like the only paths I'm ever going to try for Lena involve Ian or women.

This is a bit late for a ch6 review/thoughts write up but better late than never. Our Red String (ORS) has hit the point where we can figure what's gonna happen and how at least the time skip that has been floating around as an idea will happen. Now ch6 has a lot of good stuff in it (and besides the to porn plot with Minerva) feels very real with the characters we have and all the scenes were very well done with ORS still not having a bad scene. The bunny suit Lena, Cherry’s return, and Minerva were all great and tantalizing. But Holly’s little moment teasing us and revealing she's bi like we all thought just goes to help fuel what I feel will be the most anticipated event in the game. Cindy is arguably the most popular girl and with another highly anticipated event that's been building for just as long I feel both will happen in the update that ends with a time skip. But these two characters go to show what the biggest divide is between Ian and Lena and that is good choices for relationships.
Now Ian and Lena work very well together as they should but results in a very cookie cutter feel especially with Lola pushing for it. Lena's choice in men is a bit limited on the good side. Robert is not subtle but even Lena sees him as more of a FWB than anything else. Mike is great if he wasn't a serial cheater with a gf (here's hoping his gf is Gillian) but Lena making somebody cheat is empowering for her in a weird way. Finally (Evil ex no1) Axel who took advantage of their past relationship to cheat on her (with Cherry?) by making it seem like a threesome and this gave Lena her strength to grow and him as a choice kind of goes against her Will mechanic so even the gameplay does not want it. Now for Girls she has Louis who is a Hot mess (seems either her or Jeremy not both) and Holly who is an innocent cinnamon bun and should be protected and cherished by Ian and Lena.
TLDR: She has some really slim picks for good people unless you want drama and chaos
Compare this to Ian who has Lena, Allison if you want a girl who worships you (and has been after him), Cherry who had a bad incident and needs comfort (also Axel ex-side piece?), Emma whose THICK (just need to make cuck Perry (he may want to watch)), Minerva? (pure hate sex), Cindy who is your friends girl that's kind of bored with him (Wade is cucked or changed) and Holly who as said before is a pure innocent cinnamon bun who should be protected.
TLDR: He really has not bad options outside of Cindy due to drama.

Now with what we've seen in this and other updates as well as the rumor of a timeskip at ch 10ish either Holly’s convention or Wades party will be the event that finally throws a wrench into this beautifully complex machine and brings it to a broken horrific mess with a time skip and changes to the fundamental “string” that connects everyone. I was hoping for a while that somehow Gillian's arrival would break everything since I'm still curious as to her and Ian’s relationship but that's more to do with how the Will mechanic works for him and that Axel is still here but at this point it seems unlikely.
Now I am most excited for when Cherry and Lena meet up somehow with Ian and the fallout from that with the confirmation that she's another girl in that threesome. This can lead into Ian working to get them to look past that which seems possible on Cherry side and Lena if she cuts him out. We almost had this when Perry talked and lost to me at least any chance to help him get Cherry or Emma.
Now Holly looks to be very interested in how she changes based on Ivy and Lena’s influence on her in the next coming updates dictating what happens at that convention. Will she be more Slutty (gasp) or maintain her adorable side when they have their weekend getaway and could we possibly get her to sleep with someone who's not our mcs’ first in a weird choice/lack of skill way. I'm very confident this won't happen but she will be the person that needs both Lena and Ian to work together through Will and skill points to get the throple that will happen.
Cindy will either cheat with Ian/Axel before the party and something will happen to cause it to come out and boom goes Ians peace with Axel staying with him and Perry and Ian maybe moving out with Holly or Lena. On the flip side Ian forces Wade to give a shit and nothing crazy happens and all is good.
Louis and Jeremy is the most dynamic I feel in terms of both mcs’ having separate influence. So far either they break up and Jeremy goes with Allison or whomever and Louise is alone or with Lena. Now I can see Lena getting with Jeremy and Ian being into it for the cuck but I hope it's a hiddenish path with an annoying requirement (ie: good Jess.) Or maybe a swinging situation where Ian can try Louise and Jeremy try Lena if both are still in relationships at that time and Will to burn..
Finally Mike and his mystery GF. This is another path that I am interested in seeing through on a side save since I feel this is the major event that can blow up in Lena’s face atm since were past the Jeremy cheating thing for now. The mystery girl being Gillian and coming after Lena only to see her with Ian at a live art show would be reminiscent of the tv scene in GGGB and just so lovely to use for a time skip and just cause chaos. Or it's somebody who's not important and is only mentioned to work the cheating angle like Minerva's husband is.
Now this is stuff I feel will happen between ch7 and ch10 with hopefully some surprises like the weed smoking or the bunny suit that recently showed up. Finally I'm all down for a two month cycle for updates and am kind of surprised this game hasn't always been especially with how GGGB had some less than stellar updates towards the end. If it means Eve can have more free time to de-stress and relax while putting out as good or better chapters than I'm all for it.
