I don't get how all criticism I see for the protagonist is directed at Lena, she's a bitch on some paths, no good love interest, we don't control her personality on major decisions like how she reacts to Ian kissing Holly, etc. Yet when it comes to vote she always wins. I feel like male protagonists would be more popular by default because it's a primarily male player base
this is a mystery for me too I always hear how people cant identify with (weak) ian but they all play most slutty lena :devilish:

maybe there is a possibility that a big mayority of her supporters are female I guess????

Nah, it's pretty common for male players to have their female MC fuck all that moves, especially lesbian options. Meantime they absolutely hate if their male MC isn't the total chad that makes all girls swoon.

I've mentioned it before in this thread, but I think Lena is just a more interesting character, and I see her domination in the Patreon poll as evidence of this. She struggles with money problems and guy problems that create tension, while Ian's world is fairly safe. His options for risky scenarios are generally that of a young man sowing his oats, while Lena's experiences often have an element of being seduced, manipulated or liberated from sexual norms by the people in her circle. She's constantly fighting for agency, while Ian feels securely in control of his circumstances. Stories are about conflict, this is a story-oriented game, and Lena has a lot more for the player to sink their teeth into.
uhh I am not sure about that I watch this forum alot and I can imagin how this forum would look like if ian has way more (trouble, competition, drama .... or whatever you wanna call it)but maybe her patreons are different??? I have no idea

I would love more story and trouble for ian but a lot of people already call ian weak and a cuck so you can guess how people like drama

i like being able to make choices for both the male and female LI. since i like to control who each of them pursues as friends and lovers. i have a main playthrough for just Ian and Lena since both have been cheated on in the past and having them exclusive to each other feels right. as for the fuck em all playthrough i have that too. i love being able to cockblock both Jeremy and Axel at every turn with Lena, Allison and Cindy. though looks like that fun time is going to lead to having to choose 1 LI going further. harems are fun to try but eventually get to be a pain in the ass to deal with all the drama. can't wait for the next chapter.

There are also players who don't identify themslf with the MC at all, unless it's a good time to get into the role in order to be able to enjoy it to the maximum. I, for example, see games more as interactive films.

but this dosent make sens at all for me
I think the common reasoning is when male players control female MC then they associate themselves more with the guys who do the fucking. Kind of like watching porn, really. While with male MC they are more naturally inclined to associate themselves with the MC, and take any sort of cheating and slights he's subjected to personally.

Yeah, that's pretty much my approach to the games as well -- crafting a story for a character who isn't "me", but someone like protagonist in a movie or a book.

Eva is evidently pulling it off* so i'd argue this is far from the case.

*) in a way i personally find satisfactory, ymmv ofc
Yeah i dont understand how people cant say shes not pulling it off.
Ok maybe chapter 11 was a bit weaker compared to the great chapter 10 but is still better content than most games in this site.

I think what someone said a few pages back is the main reason, Eva's main audience came from GGGB and that game is a female protagonist game all about corruption, so Lena is favoured with her supporters.

Personally I really like both, but if I had to pick it'd be Ian
Which is weird to me, since some of my dislike for Lena comes from the other game's protagonist being way better. Like, apart from all the characters in her route boiling down to either dickheads or porn tropes (as opposed to the first game and Ian's route), her pre-established personality just complicates everything for no good reason. You either do what she would do, which is just boring because she's a boring nextdoor kinda girl, or you fight against it and just go with where the porn takes you, which turns her into a massive hypocritic who will take one second to think one thing and another to think the opposite.

A bit more of a blank slate like for Ian and the girl from the 1st game might have done the trick for me, but honestly what i really would've liked is if she'd started with a baseline personality more similar to that of her stripper friend. Would've been a proper shaking of the boat on the author's part, and if nothing else would've made for a way more interesting dynamic with Ian (since let's be real, game's ultimately about those two coming together but their relationship is just about the most sleeper in the game).

Wait, what? How are Ashley's routes in the first game not boiling down to either dickheads or porn tropes (and sometimes both)? When if anything it's the first game that's recognized for going whole hog on porn tropes?

This game, as the previous, lets the victimizing hoe choose her next men to eat.

Lena has morals enough to leave cheating Axxel, but you will have to choose
if she will become a blow up doll cock sleeve back into his arms or not.

You can build Lena up as a badass who tells the macho men who wanna conquer her off,
or you can make a literal slave of her for Axxel and/or Seymour.

You have the option of turning her into a headless whore
with all kinds of controlling freaks hitting on her
and her giving into being their blow up doll ... or not.

Already Lena is a harem collector like that other cheating hoe in the GGG game:
She can whore herself to everyone male or female and loose any sort of believability.

You can only play Lena as a human being if you make some barriers into her psyche:
no ex, no sey, no work place harassment and no fkking the boss.

Once you can build up those deffenses into her, you can have a human being.

Otherwise, she is just a cock sleeve like the hoe in GGG.
