Out of all of the best choices here, what is in your opinion the best game/visual novel on here? I am currently looking through and doing some research for an upcoming RPGI am making in unity and I am curious about what so far has been your favorite. I love Eternium and it's by far my favorite. The story line is fantastic, the scenes are great. I love the VNs that have gameplay, story and love some action and romance. I have tried so many and that one still to this day hits the nail on the head. I like games that have some open world and actual gameplay to them, so please share your favorites! Thanks so much reading and taking the time to respond! Can't wait to read them all!

baldr sky has the best gameplay only surpassed by baldr heart and the writer has the plotting skills to keep it interesting for 100 hours.
Other games that might or might not be here are black souls and demons roots. Even the rance series and utawarerumono. Outside of here it's library of ruina, chrono ark and reverse collapse. These are the absolute best.
If you want more ruina with better storytelling and presentation and more mili boss songs, there's only really limbus company for you and have to compromise about it being gacha which means grinding and gambling.
If you want more reverse collapse, which goes really hard gameplay wise, you have either girls frontline 2 which is the same thing at baby difficulty or fire emblem stuff which i never tried.

It's the only porn game with good smut, all the girls look good
I love the weird cold atmosphere and the repetition of text acquires meaning as the story goes
I will admit I was a bit bored and I'm not the target audience (it's pretty gender and it's every love relationships romance fans like in one game) but it's definitely writing and sex people should take inspiration from
Bonus points it's written by a woman so i don't feel grossed out reading sex
cyanotype daydream is also pretty good. The heroine is very good and basically carries the novel. While i dont think the sex itself is special the build up to the sex scene is believable it feels like the writer is dealing with an actual person instead of some lucky pervert thing. The heroine basically bares herself to you through 3 tragic stories and the realest attempt to an anime girl trying to make the reader fall for her it's great
objectively i think vn fans will recommend full metal demon muramasa as the best vn of all time but the sex stuff in this vn is really really weird and not what you think it is at start. You think it's plain rape but it's some sort of coping about the protag being a male rape victim. And it's not exactly what the vn is about to begin with just one different angle of violence. What this visual novel Does have is probably the most romantic kill in everything I've ever read as a final fight

I've tried muvluv and the bunch of vns people tend to recommend btw
Muvluv is an experience it doesn't really deserve its cult status and developers are basically scam gods fans fall for every time. Reading it is going through a sea of mid. But sometimes it becomes epic and you understand the hype. I'm talking about meiya of course. There's this segment where every single characgter has the same terrible idea and the protag can't do anything about it. It basically leads to "ntr" and by then I was ready drop the vn, again, but meiya has her crowning moment and then you understand why she is still some people fav heroine among most vns. It's just the rest of the games can be really fucking boring

People are mostly recommending muvluv because of Mulv-Luv Alternative with all its epic war in the alternative dimension. After all, it's Mulv-Luv Alternative that was #1 by ratings at vndb for decades (and #2 even now), not the original Muv-Luv.

In this case, take a look on DUEX. It's map exploration in the classic rpg style, and have events in VN style with choices. Focus on the classic RPG's style, you need to explore around, interact with ppl and pay attention to the dialogues to know what to do. The Seer is a drunk guide, sometimes she can give you hints out of order.
About the gameplay, you can explore a dungeon, upgrade your village, fuck hot girls, destroy your enemies, or, in some cases, ally with them, and have fun killing monsters around. There's some "hiden" caves full of monsters, you don't need enter it if you don't want fight, but if you are looking for a good challenger, it's the right place.
The story is the main point of the game, so to get the full experience you would have to pay attention, and make your choices well.
