There are two endings, splits off kinda halfway through (not saying much since game is like 30min). Can't miss it cause it gives you a dialogue box with the two choices.

If anyone is interested, there's a book called "Save State Hero", that, as you guessed it focuses on a dude that can save his progress and reload it as needed. I've not read it, it's an offshoot of "Super Sales on Super Heroes" which turned to absolute dog shit after book three.
