Uhh.. are the beginning areas supposed to have groups of monsters several times my level when I have only 1 person in my party? lmao

It's all RNG, so escape and fight another group. Sometimes you get 1, somtimes you get more. All random

night time enemies are higher level, but early bit is a bit random. Forest is a better place to start than mountains. Also, way early game, you'll need to do some seduce/breeding to get anything strong enough to fight with.
