Think I gave up on this game long ago because none of the quests (that were supposed to be in the game at the time) would advance. Has this game gotten any better about letting you know what a character path needs? I'm thinking of starting fresh in the event it was a corrupted save.

No idea what you saw before, but there is an in game hint system...

It's hard to write meaningful main character development in a sandbox game. You can do it reasonably well with secondary characters, as their sidequests form natural character arcs, but the MC is stuck, because the player can do these quests in almost any order. You can structure the sidequests into acts, forcing the play to complete all sidequests in act 1 before act 2 starts, and I think PL does that kind of thing, but that still means that the MC will behave the same during all of act 1 (and act 1 in PL is huge).

Yes, the MC is a nice guy and not a fuckboy, he starts out as a slacker that lacks initiative. He is easily browbeaten by not-Branson and the Indian guy. It's frustrating to watch him agree to the sex chip economy in act 1. It's frustrating to watch him scrounge for chips to build a bungalow *after* he shows some spine in act 2. There aren't even that many pageant girls that still care about the pageant. In a more linear VN I would expect the MC to start a rebellion against not-Branson by that stage of the game.
That's a good point. I know I've seen at least one choice-based VN recently where it didn't take that into account, so it was easy to sequence break and have characters talk earnestly about an event that hadn't happened yet.

With a game that's set up like this, it would probably make more sense if the first act had less options, which is to say, less love interests with their own story arcs, so the MC's character development carried over more uniformly. That's not really a criticism of PL--it is what it is, and what it is isn't bad--but it's interesting to talk about story structure as it relates to an adventure game/visual novel.

It would be nice if there are more opportunities to get one over on the Capitalist Gang, though. Obviously the MC in PL wouldn't do any shady shit towards that end--have you noticed how many H-game protagonists are total fucking sociopaths?--but you could at least gradually work towards getting people out of the resort.

In the end, Chase's the writer on this, and I think the story he's writing works perfectly, but it's interesting that a lot of people who 'nope' out of it do so before the game really gets going, and their complaints are usually that Jack's not 'alpha' enough. There's also people who complain that Cath and Gabby kissing is NTR, which... lol.

Anyway, Jack's got a journey ahead, but it's one that takes him from a drifter that doesn't really know what to do with his life into someone that's doing quite okay.
It's not really about being "alpha" it's about being Jack being unwilling to stand up for himself at all unless it involves the literal "Karen" trope that universally people don't mind hating anyways. The other girls say shitty things and order Jack around like there personal slave and he just takes it.

Also it just sets an awful tone when the girl who's life you saved without even a thanks mind you gets the first real LI (Gabby) and we are just forced to be her cheerleader and take it like a good little chump. I mean for fucks sake man, stand up for yourself even once in the first 4 hours of this game. At least if us as players who don't already enjoy playing as a total beta/loser had some inkling that shit will turn around in the future more people would stick around and see this arc you have planned out come to fruition.

Counterpoint: if this was any form of media on the planet besides a porn game, it'd be obvious that was what was going to happen.

Anyone else having trouble with doing the sketch of Maria? When I start the outline the percentage dial doesn't advance at all. It just stays at zero. I'm able to skip it so I can still advance it, but I like the part where you can color it in. Just wondering if there is an issue with it in the game.

I think Jack's just got a thing for bisexual girls kissing; he's got a boner the size of the Eiffel tower during that scene :) What you see as NTR, Jack sees as a hot show the girls are letting him see. There is no sense of regret or unhappiness (apart from when they stop making out), and the three of them go on to making a very happy polyamorous triad. Your mileage may vary.

Oh I get it. I am far enough along to see some of the payoff by being a very good "obedient" little boy/slave to these thots.

I was just pointing out most people will see that very early on and think that "Am I just playing as some lame cuck/voyeur?" and just quit like I almost did. But I also had the knowledge that you personally were involved in the development even if not the actual writer and from your other game I took a leap of faith that this wasn't going to be some stupid cuck/NTR themed clustermug. Obviously this MC is no legendary king of Camelot like the MC from LoM, but I get this is more of a personal journey from hopeless drifter to semi-competent adult...ish guy and not save the entire world with magic and general badasseryness.

I can dig this game. Only issue i have run into is that no matter what i do whenever a girl wants champagne or the mixed drink that has champagne in it it fails and i get no money.

0.14.0 bug (reported by Discord)

1) When you have the Quest to get more beer from Erik (after sold all before) you must pay 10, you buy it and don`t lose the money

2) Quest Make a camera stand you don`t lose Bamboo

3) logic bug,
Bar you have there the painting from Reyna and Maria before you draw it (without the choose to click on it you can see it)

I've just realized that Gabby's palms and soles of her feet are the same color as the rest of her skin. They should be at least a shade lighter. I guess this should also apply to Reyna, but her skin tone is weird in more ways than just uniformity (she's redder than a British lass in Algarve).

I have solved all Quests and 22 Wallpapers are closed. I clicked on the pics in the phone the 22 don`t change. I get aso no new pics from sending pics and I see aso not that pics/wallpapers are unlocking through another action.

It looks for me that the sex scenes aren`t unlocked.

Anyone got a bar/drink serving guide for this game? This game assumes you have some rather extensive knowledge of alcoholic beverages and or mixing drinks, which i, sadly, do not.

Yeah, that's a thought I've had too. It'd be nice if there was a reference book on bartending in Jack's room, or something along those lines.

You don't seem to lose anything if you screw up the first two guesses, but you also don't gain anything for being right on the first try, as far as I can tell. It's a weirdly implemented minigame.

I'd also say that, as someone who's colorblind, it'd be nice if the filling line on wine glasses was easier to see. I blew a few early pours before I noticed it was there.

Turn down sex with Raven the first time, and you get a slight variation of the scene later with some more tender talking.
We're not ever making a branching sex scene like that again.

The poster of Ryko can be found around the rest at various places, and then assembled.
Is there anyone knows where is the last pieces of Ryko's poster?
I already searching in whole place and I found nothing, please guys if you know this one please tell me
