This is an easy 5 star for a few reasons.
Downsides?
The downsides aren't enough to knock off a star, though. Maybe half a star if I could. But definitely not a full star. Most of the negative reviews here are "I played for 10 minutes, but...." which tells you how seriously you should take them.
- Actual animations. Not just three frames looped. And they're good animations.
- Drags American capitalism through the mud for the entire duration of the game, as it deserves to be.
- Uses my favorite word of all time in dialog. Cooter. That alone gets a 5/5. That word needs used more often because it's hilarious and really fun to say. Try it. Say it out loud. Cooter. Heh.
Downsides?
- Psuedo-point and click. It isn't really. You click the stuff that sparkles and it either goes into your inventory or you automatically use the correct item on it. There's no adventure game point-and-click here where you rub items together furiously trying to make something happen.
- Absolutely elementary puzzles. Luckily, there's a skip button to let you bypass all of the puzzles if you don't want to bother. Seriously, they're mostly picture matching or unscrambling puzzles. Stuff you'd find in an elementary school puzzle book.
- Gets a bit grindy in between things to do. You spend a little too much time just chatting through pick-a-path dialog options just to build relationship points to unlock the next plot point.
- Karen.
