Ren'Py - Parasite Black [v0.153] [Damned Studios]

A really fun game that I can't wait to see more of, Scenes are fucking great and the animation is beautiful. The fighting system has some work but when its all polished out it'll probably be one of my favorite titles.

This is one of those games you thought was gonna stay at 0.01 because it's way too good to be true. Glad I was wrong.
The art is amazing, animations are smooth, there's a nice soundtrack. Combat needs to be refurnished but hey, it's just a tiny gruge honestly.
Bloody well done.

Ok this one is hard to rate.
What is here is pretty good, art is just top tier, H scenes are amazing with well done animations and sound effects, story is good, plenty of interesting characters, good MC, the game is very promising and has potential to be a 10/10.
But there's not a whole lot here yet, the game so far is very light on actual content and and several parts of it are unfinished, this is not a fault as all games need to start somewhere, but I can't say the game is a 9/10 yet.
About actual things I think the game could fix:
Choices, the game could do more with the choices you make, so far most of them were basicly non-choice choices (nuke this route? Not nuke this route?) instead of each choice being a branching path.
The combat, I like the game so I'm not saying this to be antagonistic, but the combat really sucks.

Great Story and great art. Very rare to find games like these.
Highly underrated game. You usually do not get animations this early but they have them too. I can't see how this game won't be amazing in the future considering the current quality they are outputting this early in their development.

This game is rather fun!

The sandbox has a little bit of everything.
the Futa content is not an obligation but so far there's not much there.

The most advance storyline as of 0.134 is the Orc story. There's a good foundation supporting lot of things coming up.

this is extreme good but need more content. The battle system need to improve. There not much to talk out site it is a good story and have quite good character development at the moment but it need more content.

One of the best games on here. Very nice looking art, all of the characters look good and unique. Story is good and the characters do not seem bland.

Combat is OK. Nothing special or new. Just your normal expected turn based combat system. Looks fine but some small touches could be added to make it better. An ability to cancel a combat choice would be nice, for example.

The music and the sounds overall are good. Navigation around the map is good. Game has a lot of potential, I'll be supporting for sure.

Updated review for v0.146

10 months later, I've returned to the game to see what's changed. In general, I feel largely the same. The game definitely still stands out among the usual themes you see so often on this site. It's got some nice art, animated scenes, an interesting plot with some unique twists, and just an overall unique feeling as far as adult games go. For people who like actual "game" with their porn games, this is one to pay attention to.

As stated in the overview, this is a dark fantasy game. There are violent depictions of death and gore (though there's a toggle for it that I didn't use), and general dark overhangs of the world. It's stated there will never be any sort of sexual violence which I'm glad about, but there still are references to things like rape and essentially forced prostitution for some of the unimportant characters.

The game still very much feels like a work in progress, but enough foundation is there for me to have fun. It's a sandbox that doesn't really railroad you, which is surprisingly rare.

One thing I didn't touch on in my original review was combat. At the time, there was a supposed rework for it in progress. Unfortunately, It seems like all that has really changed was some touched up visuals. Combat was easily the weakest part of the game back then, and still is now. The problem is that it's very static. No variable damage, skill tree, stat altering items, or even ways to level up and increase stats in the first place. Since there is a lot of combat, it turns into a slog really fast. I'd prefer a skip combat cheat at this point should nothing change about it.

The MC still feels a bit lacking in drive to me. He doesn't feel like he has much of a backbone in most situations. Maybe solved with time as the story develops?

My other biggest gripe is that the art for busts and the art for sex scenes feel like they don't match. For some of the sex scenes, the girls look almost completely different, to the point where I wouldn't know otherwise had the game not told me. Nijah suffers from this as an example, as well as the blacksmith girl who's name escapes me.

For a game seeming to want to tell a story, relationship development moves rather quick. This might be more of a preference thing. but I wish the game would have slowed down and taken time to really build up stronger love interests. Some are better than others, like the orc, but even then you get scenes very quickly. It makes the payoff not as satisfying.

The last thing I want to mention is that in these 10 months, characters I wanted to see more of have not gained any content since the first time I played. Take that how you will.

TLDR - I enjoy the game, but it does feel like it has some kinks to iron out still. Given more time to develop, I can see this being a great lewd RPG game.

Unlike other raters here I recognize a dark fantasy genre when it oozes it directly into your face -or wherever it wants to ooze instead . So far pretty refreshing and different. Let's hope for great further enhancements of the product in its future. Give it a try and enjoy!

Incest, corruption, combat, and a great story.

The combat has room for improvement, but heck the Devs have already improved on it greatly so far, so as far as I'm concerned it can only get better.

I'm looking forward to this Developers to beat down the door to a new niche for AAA games.

Update: Hmm, that was disappointing. Sometime on your prologue adventure that childhood friend chick (Adara IIRC) got a medieval boob reduction 'cause her amazing tits shrink like 3 cup sizes between the first handjob and the later titfuck scene. Plus the combat is starting to feel pretty grindy as the mechanic to fight the infection. Still a decent enough game and I recommend trying. Hoping since it's early later art and mechanics (or cheats) fix those issues. It's still on the border of 4, just don't like when a hot characters main feature gets jarringly changed like that.

Original: Frikkin' love the art, the tits on the first chick that gave the handjob were perfect, knockers that big should hang like that, WOW I hope she comes back in the story somehow. Later scenes lived up to that standard, the horny redhead in your adventure group I'd let in my DnD party anyday .

The story's decent too, certainly above average in adult games. Kind of early on to rate but I like what I got of where it's going. It's certainly in the right direction of being top quality for the adult game market.

I wasn't a fan of the combat system and game overs being a hard end, I'm curious how it evolves and I kind of wish there was a 'story mode' where you could skip those for those of us that care more about the tale, I'll be keeping an eye out for console or mod cheats, and I wish there was more guidance on where the choices lead but I can hope for a walkthrough one day, and there's a few QoL things I missed (don't believe I could rewind, no gallery [yet] though I may have just missed it), but I can't emphasize how those issues were minor compared to how optimistic I was at the story of the game and how, um, 'eager' I was at the sexy adult scenes art work.

4 of 5 for now, real hopes it's a 5 one day as it's certainly headed that way.

Its simple, its got LORE. Don't get me wrong I love the scenes but the fact of the matter is it has interesting lore and plot, if you like games that're more than "Fuck you and you and you" I heavily recommend this. A good all-rounder definitely recommend sticking with it

Time played: Roughly 2 hours. Saw all content sans a couple Arlena scenes.

I love me some fantasy settings and original art, so this one immediately caught my eye. The story starts off incredibly strong, which is supported by intriguing lore and fantastic writing. So far, the sexual content is generally well-integrated into the story, which is more than just window dressing to constant fucking. That said, the game is still very early in development and it's anyone's guess how this will shape up in the future.

Positives:
+ Beautiful girls with varying ages. They all tend to the busty side of things so far, but it's still early, so I would assume there will be more variety as things progress.
+ Original art!!!!
+ Animations
+ Absolutely fantastic setting and writing/proofing (I only noticed one typo in the whole thing!)


Negatives:
- The RPG systems/combat. This is more of a neutral element and the devs have said they mean to overhaul it, but something to note if you don't like any gameplay beyond choices in your games.
- Setting might be overly grim for some people and there is some very violent, gory content. You can turn off the latter, but even still this isn't a cheery romp in ye olde fantasyland.
- Off model art. This is also something the devs are supposedly addressing. It's not as bad as some games I've played, but it's noticeable.

Anyone who has spent any time on this site is no stranger to games in early development and I'm sure most have come up with their ways of dealing with it (play and follow each update, bookmark till later, check in after x months etc.). This is one of the worst types of early games in development because the story is so intriguing and the art so good you're really left wanting more. Provided this game ticks your interest boxes, the question is whether to dive in now or later. Highly recommended.

Note to devs: Fantastic early start! Really looking to see more. Don't really know what to suggest at this stage, but keep up the good work and maybe throw a girl or two in with nice bush.

I like the old skool rpg vibes. The writing is fine, the story is interesting but it drags on quite a bit. Suggest cutting the dialogues/banters in half. The "landlady" fetish doesn't fit the story at all, especially since the landladies in question are marginal to the plot.

The art is true to the pulp fantasy genre but doesn't really do anything for me as fap material. Too rough and impressionistic. Still, h scenes are competently animated so that's good.

The UI and sandbox design are good, the combat system is clunky. I don't think this game benefits from the sandbox+quest format at all. Devs should consider retaining the choose-your-adventure gameplay of the prologue for the rest of the game.

In conclusion, the fantasy story elements are decent but ymmv on the lewd stuff. If you like the preview images go ahead and play it.

Excelente, the narrative, the art, the plot, all of them are great, usually I don't expect anything great or diferent but this game has all of that, I don't have a lot of money but this will be the first game that I support, because deserve all the support you can give, I don't know why doesn't have more support, hope more people play it and discover this gem.

Best dark fantasy game that I ever play for know at least, even games like Kingdom of amalur, Dragon's Dogma, Darksiders. don't have this good narrative, the gameplay it's not of my liking, I think the difficult is fair and balanced, but if you want to make the gameplay more interesting, you could do a turn base system like SMT Nocturne(Pass turns, dodge, reflect, resist, ailments, get a extra turn when hit a weak point, etc), I Love the game hope you guys keep doing a great job.

So far, this is a Demo, normaly i wouldn't post a review this early, but i liked the Demo so much, i wanted to give the Devs a little motivational Push.

Since i have joined F95, i have seen lots potential good Games, lots of well made, hot Games with good fap material. But i have seen very few Games that actually tried to be more than just fap material.
Parasite Black is a Game that is clearly trying to get to a higher level.

To the first point, Sex. Yes, there is sex, there is ANIMATED sex, that already gives the Demo version a nice Bonus. The Sex scenes are of high quality and with sound effects.

The Art. I really enjoyed the Art on this Game, multiple Artist are working on this Game, wich has it's positives and negatives. Something that you will notice very fast is, that the Sex Scenes are made by a different artist, but not only the Sex Scenes, also some Renders. It can be a bit weird because a Character looks much different depending on who worked on that specific scene. Nonetheless, very good Art, and the Animationas are very fluid and supported by Sound Effects, very well done.

Now then to what makes this Demo so special and interesting, the Story.
As mentioned, this is a Demo, so there is still a lot of Time for the Devs to f*ck this up and making me disapointed, but so far, very interesting. I enjoyed the Characters that were introduced, i enjoyed the way they interact with each other and the diversity in their personality. I can't wait to play this Game, because the Story has me wondering, what will happen next.

As a little side note, i saw people complaining about the Combat system, but honestly, i don't understand it, it really is so easy to win it... the problem doesn't lie with the Devs here... Guys, pls, it's easy to win, Git Gud.

My only negatives so far would be, as mentioned, the changing in appearance of the Characters depending on the Artist, it can kick you out of imersion.
In some parts, it seemed to me, that there were Renders missing. For example, the Battle starts, you read how the Characters are fighting BUT you still see the same Render from when they were standing around talking. It doesn't match.

I look forward to the next update, with hope that the keep pushing the Story, because there are alot of "Hot" Games, but very few with a good Story.

I wish the Dev Team good luck and hard work, you guys have got something with alot of potential here, please don't mess it up.

v0.137 review.

I changed my rating from 3 to 4 star. Combat is improved. The last time you can't hit a target more than 2 times and that's the sort of thing I did not like. Combat is not complicated but it gets the job done. It is still fairly challenging as enemies hit hard. You can still win with offensive attacks plus focus targeting alone when grinding but props for adding defensive and debuffs skills that can help in difficult fights. I would like to see some minor buffs to those skills as well as more variety in the future. What is present now is serviceable but it still doesn't hurt for more improvements.

As for everything else, it's everything that I liked in the first place. The story has a grim start although it does lean on the power fantasy trope later on - which is not a bad thing. It starts off as a VN then goes for the sandbox approach. I just hope the grinding is kept to a reasonable levels. I just hope there are more meaningful branches to come. And the art is still superb.

As of now, it's still overall unpolished but that is to be expected from early builds.

One of the best 2D games out there! It has lots of potential.

Coding was ok no bugs for me.
I hope there will be some optional NTR in the future! In that case I am 100% a patron.
