I still think that if this is a "government crackdown", then Patreon is just going to tell it's content producers to just sanitize their webpages and hide the content behind a paywall.
And, again, if government, then this is clearly a response to Weinstein and further pedo accusations coming out of Hollywood, esp since Patreons head office is located in California. With that said though, once this whole thing dies down, so does the government interference because it is just a play for them to shown as doing something about the problem.
Clearly, based on the "sanitization" of the webpages, Patreon doesn't want to lose the games business models in regards to the development of games like DMD, DoD, etc... because based on the graphic from either this thread or in the DMD, over 20% of their income is based on adult content. I am curious though, how much Patreon takes as it's cut from the donations.
