And it truly is a shame. All the games I like get abandoned, and they're always the good ones.
It's happened in the past before where the maker has returned, and I'm not entirely throwing that hope in the trash for this one as in the meantime a very talented community member made the next update and took the game on their shoulders, but still. I'm tempted to continue it myself but I don't know if my writing style would keep it consistent and am trained in Harlowe 3.0 instead of SugarCube 2.0.
Let's just hope OranosDev comes back one day.
Perhaps, you can can try to do a '"Stand-alone," like an unofficial continuation of the story (but in your own vision). Since, it would be"fan-made" i dont think that a lot of people will complain. Also, if writing plot isn't your thing then what about creating some mini-scene or random events there and there throughout the world to flesh it a bit more? For example, you can add more scenes or random events when visit the parc, mall, school, street, beach, etc...
